  1. Princess Cays is actually on the island of Eleuthera, one of the Bahamas' larger islands. Yes, George's is right outside the gates. When you get off the tender and come to the point where they take your picture, you'll notice a building with public restrooms to the right. Just beyond that is a big gate. If you go through the gate (there is a security officer there checking ship cards), there is a souvenir stand and at the far end is George's. It's plenty safe to go there. When we went there were many cruisers, plus security is right there. As for the OP, we have seen taxi drivers in this area before, and on our last cruise, we hired one to give us a tour. He took us as far north as Tarpum Bay before turning around and heading back to the ship. He also took us to a nice local beach bar/restaurant called Wild Orchids along the way for lunch. We didn't see anywhere to rent a car, however.
  2. "Easy walk" is a relative term, but unfortunately, I think the answer you are looking for is 'no.' IIRC, there is a stand where you can get a drink at the beach at the end of the pier, but I wouldn't consider it a "bar." There's a bar in the Fisherman's Village (1st tram stop) marina area that overlooks the marina, and a few bars in the Hilton, but, likewise, not what I consider "beach bars." Smitty's is the closest true beach bar, but it's about a 10-minute walk South from Fisherman's Village.
  3. It sounds like you are talking about Potter's Cay. I'm not sure if they still sell from the fishing boats, but there are several restaurants/shacks next to the docks where you can get a "conch salad," which is what they call ceviche. I have not tried the conch salad at any of the places there, but the cracked conch there at a place called The Midnight Spot was delicious!
  4. There is only one casino in Bimini -- Resorts World (inside the Hilton). It's pretty small, but has a decent selection of games for its size. The tram will take you there, or it's about a 15-20 minute walk if you want to stretch your legs. Last time I was there, the casino opened at 10 AM. There was a casino in Freeport, but it has since closed. I believe it was a casualty of Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
  5. I'd be interested in knowing this as well. I'm looking at a cruise in November. I have an Elite offer with no casino cash. I also have another offer where I can get the same balcony room with $1k casino cash and Cheers for both of us. Can anyone hazard a guess as to the monetary value of all the Elite perks? I can come up with the numbers for things like parking, wifi, in-room bar, etc. but have no clue as to the gifts/other perks. If it's close to the $1k I'd get with the other offer, I would probably book the Elite just to see what the hoopla is all about. I've never done any of the named (Premier/Ultra/Elite) cruises before. BTW, I am Gold now, but if all goes as planned with other cruises this year, I should get Platinum on this cruise. Is the Elite VIP status any different than straight up Platinum?
