  1. There was a youngish coupe across from us in their early 30's they had food in front of them and I kid you not she took at least 50 selfies they hardly spoke apart from her getting him to take some snaps of her. I said to my hubby sometimes now in life I think some people get things too easy and too early to appreciate them fully. I did notice that when she got up to get 2 gargantuan plates of sweets she did not take a selfie of her arse. I don't blame her she would have needed a wide screen!

Wow, I hope others were not sitting around rudely judging you based on your age, what they think has come easy or difficult for you, or how much you eat and weigh. Just a thought:o

I love your observation, Meiow! I'm so tired of all these people taking selfies. No one cares about you but you, put the damn phone down and enjoy the people/place you are in.

  2. This isn't really for the cabin, per se, but I ALWAYS bring a little personal fan with me when I travel. The ones that take two 'A' batteries. That little gem has been a godsend on numerous occasions. Like when your plane is stuck on the tarmac with no electricity, or the cruise check-in line is 1000+ people deep, or the muster drill is overly crammed and delayed, or the tour bus has no AC. Share one of these peeps around you and you'll be friends for life. ;p

  3. The upgraded bathroom.

The use of "mini-suite" by NCL has caused much confusion.

This. We're paying extra for a mini on the BA to the Baltics next year because it's mid-ship and I think the larger bathroom just makes the room feel larger.

I'm sure NCL will eliminate the 'suite' designation at some point due to the confusion, but for now it makes the TAs look like heroes until their clients board the ship and get a reality check.

  4. Hi cbowls30- DH and I are doing this cruise in May, 2018. Sorry, but I don't have any expectations and don't care what the demography might be. After all, We Are The World and it's all about the ports.

Relax, don't do It....when you want to go to it....dream those dreams...scheme those schemes... hit me with your laser beams....

    Have a great cruise!

  5. That is definitely an option, thanks, but thought it may take a while for them to get there so quicker to just head up to buffet or wherever to get a cup. No big deal for me to get a cup, I'm up anyway, but trying to cut down on what I carry as I like to get some breakfast to eat on balcony. I'll figure it out I'm sure but I do appreciate all the responses :D

I like to fill out the Room Service card the night before and hang it on my door. You have to fill out the time you would like the delivery to be and then you can use that as your wake-up call. Works great and you have coffee as soon as you get up. ;p

  6. capriccio~~~Thanks for the link...you're very helpful!:)

pablo222~~~Funny you should say that. When we were exiting our cabin to disembark I handed our steward a nice tip inside a folded comment card. I don't think he saw the cash, but he wasn't overly excited about the comment card, so you may be right. ;) Then again, all of the staff look exhausted on that last morning and he had less than a month to go in his contract. I always do the email survey, so I'll just do that and save myself the trouble of mailing them. Thanks for the tip! (Pun intended.):D

  7. Just wanted to add.....I don't fall asleep easily, but I totally had a long and peaceful nap on the balcony of our BA H6 one afternoon. >sigh< :p

It might be frowned upon, but a few blankies and pittows on a fully extended lounger might be just the ticket if one of your youngin's gets upset with the sleeping arrangements. (Please make sure neither one has been drinking too much before attempting this.)

And that second bath is actually considered, in real estate parlance, a 3/4 bath. Shower, toilet, sink. Fine for your boys, IMO.

    Have fun! :D:D:D

  8. From the Norwegian Website about tipping...

<<Also, certain staff positions (e.g., concierge, butler, youth program staff and beverage service) provide service on an individual basis to only some guests and do not benefit from the overall service charge. We encourage those Guests to acknowledge good service from these staff members with appropriate gratuities.>>

According to this the bartenders do not share in the automatic gratuity.

The term "beverage service" refers to packages, cocktails, and/or butler service delivered to your cabin or suite. It does not refer to bartenders or waitstaff.
