  1. Ok so I went with the ecards since like the rest of you I didn't want $1800 floating around in never never land..especially since they won't have a name on them..I ordered one for $1000 and had it sent to me..it arrived almost as soon as I clicked buy...1st an email telling me that it was purchased and the 2nd giving me a link to the actual ecard...worked well...went back into the system and I ordered an ecard for $800 which would complete the balance owed on our Oct cruise...this time the 1st email took a bit of time...chalked that up to the system being overloaded with all of us ordering cards..:D the confirmation said I had paid $800 so I was ok with waiting for the 2nd email...that arrived about 10 mins later...oh goodie..It's done...no problem...WRONG!!!! I opened the link to the ecard and it was blank  .no $$ amount and no pin #...I immediately got on the phone to Carnival...got a guy who was really hard to understand and he certainly wasn't understanding me or my dilemma..finally after much back and forth he gives me a card number over the phone..ok where is my pin#..he doesn't have that..ok so who does? Obviously they gave me a pin # on the first link so I must need it ..so he says CORPORATE has to investigate it and they'll get back to me...time frame?...whenever they can was the reply...soooooooo tomorrow afternoon I'll apply the $1000 card to my balance and see if I need a pin..if I don't I'll just go ahead and apply the $800 also...if I do need a pin you can bet your bippy that I'll be back on the phone to Carnival and I won't give up till I get a pin..stubborn Irishman that I am...or should I say woman..:D

Let us know how it works out please

  2. So, I just ordered a 500 dollar e-mail gift card. I checked out and have recieved an e-mail for the 500 dollar card. I have not seen any confirmation or mention of the 50 dollar promotional card... when should I see this? Did I miss something during my order process?

From the Carnival website (I read it twice... because for some reason, I just never completely trust terms and conditions.)

  3. You know the bartender ignored you because you had a soda card? Really? Did he tell you that or did you just imagine that from the way he looked at you? The buffet serves full breakfast until 11:30a every day on every ship. When people make statements that are not true or have vivid imaginations you have to question the validity of these reviews. Sorry if you don't agree.

Question all you like, but suggesting the guy is lying is just wrong. I repeat, just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it didn't happen.

  4. While I have been very disappointed in the evolvement of Carnival over the last couple of years, I think your review is a "plant". Breakfast never closes in the buffet at 9:30a, I have never had a bartender in 26 cruises on Carnival make me feel bad that I was using a soda card, I have never seen or experienced a event host who was not enthusiastic (in fact too much so sometimes). I could go on but I get the feeling this review of yours is some kind of vendetta or hoax. I am not a Carnival cheerleader, actually just the opposite!! But your review was a bit over the top and less than believeable.

Gee, I've had only 5 cruises with a 6th coming up... and I've had a bartender ignore me for 15 minutes because I was holding a soda card, and grumble while he filled my drink order. I've also seen the breakfast buffet start being broken down before 9:30am, leaving only 1 section plus an omelet station open. Carnival crew people are human and have bad days. It's impossible for every single staff member to be UP and perfectly chirpy 24/7.

Stuff happens dude. Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't make it untrue, or a 'plant'.

I thought the OP's review was pretty fair. He mentioned what he liked, what was good and what was bad. He didn't slam Carnival.

  5. I actually used my cruise to help me quit smoking. I smoke my last cigarette before leaving the house. That as the last in my pack. I figured from guessing that there would be no smoking anywhere except maybe on an area in the top decks.

I did not like having to walk through the casino that was clouded in smoke to get to other areas. I would actually avoid it and go up one floor walk across and come back down and back track to avoid it. It bothered me the amount of smoke in there.

I didn't go to any of the clubs. I don't dance.

But good news out of the trip was I am now 5 weeks without a smoke and feel pretty good. Smoked for 12 years, and with the new baby on the way and hitting 30 I felt it was a great time to quit.

    Congratulations! X 3!!

  6. Okay. I'm ready for the onslaught. Dear God Carnival , I just read smoking is allowed in all dance clubs, God help me. So I can't go there , all the boards have commented about the interesting boat layout so I have to go thru smoke filled areas to easley navigate , last year on the Glory I had a great time but missed so much .... How difficult would it really be to go and smoke out the side of the boat where is is allowed and have at least 1 dance club non smoking... I have already resigned myself to no balcony but it would be nice to be able to enjoy the boat, and no don't refer me to a more restrictive cruise line, I want affordable just like everyone else..can't it be 50/50 no smoking in major transit spaces.....I have many friends who do smoke, they have no problem going to a different area, not one of them would have a problem with restrictions okay flame away I am ready

Smoking is only allowed on non-Spa balconies, sections on one side of the ship outside, the smoking section in the casino, a dance club and a jazz club...... but you want 50/50.

    Okeydokey.

MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS - WINTER 2015/2016 ITINERARIES...

Today we announced that our newest and largest ship to date, Norwegian Escape, will homeport year-round at PortMiami, the cruise capital of the world, sailing an Eastern Caribbean itinerary.

Along with the previously announced move of Norwegian Epic sailing year-round from Barcelona, the line’s 2015/16 winter deployment includes its return to South America cruises, a larger Jewel-class ship sailing to the Mexican Riviera, as well as the addition of Port Canaveral, Florida as a seasonal homeport.

“Norwegian Escape’s arrival to Miami coincides with Norwegian Epic’s year-round Europe deployment, demonstrating the balanced approach we used to develop our winter 2015/16 deployment and ensuring that we had a varied offering of premium destinations that would be exciting to our guests,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian’s chief executive officer. “Much of this deployment was designed based on feedback from our guests and travel partners, and we know they will be happy with the changes and enhancements we have made.”

We were so excited to see the 15 day itineraries thru the Canal on the Norwegian Jewel. They were exactly what we wanted. I have a group of 12 who were ready to book. (Family and friends, I am NOT a travel agent.) Now we find out that there are no such itineraries for Jan/February 2016. The Norwegian Jewel is scheduled to do Mexican Riviera cruises those months.

So disappointed and no one at NCL seemed to even know anything about the mix up.

  8. Hi we're cruising out of Jax in September.

We're booked at the Hampton Inn for $71 a night (non refundable rate), and we are parking at the new VIP cruise parking lot on the other side of the interstate from the port.

    type in

http: // www dot cruise parking jacksonville dot com

It's $45 for your cruise, in a secure lot with a free shuttle. We haven't tried it yet, but it's owned by the same company that also has an airport parking lot.

It made me nervous to leave my car in an open hotel parking lot on a main road so close to the airport.

  9. I know carnival has several concert cruises going on this year. Has anybody seen anything about if they will be having them again next year????

    Cruise fan

The concert cruises are just beginning, so I'm sure Carnival will be making a decision after they see how well they are received.

  10. Not all buffet stations will be open at dinner because as you say, most people go to the MDR. You will find at least 3 different types of meats or fish and a carving station and plenty of vegetables in some type of sauce. The salad station is usually set up completely and fresh. The pizza kiosk and the deli are usually open.

    Have a great time!
