  1. Pataday for allergy/irritated/itchy eyes
Lumify to clear up the redness.
I have glaucoma and the prescription eye drops tear my eyes up. I used to constantly look like I had been crying,  they were always raw and felt sandpapery.
Now I use both of those OTC eye drops once a day.  They work on allergy eyes too.

So, what's the current situation. Are places giving "free" tests as was the case the few times I took one when either symptomatic or following possible exposure?

I'm assuming testing places will ask why you're getting the test?

With all the local (Pt Canaveral area) tests being given for cruising purposes - do they factor in the test results with the general population... thus potentially skewing the local positivity numbers (which are fortunately dropping here and most everywhere)?

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

If you wouldn't mind,  where are a few of the places in Port Canaveral so I can tell my cruise group.  We cruise in February, so we're getting just close enough to start discussing our options.  Thank you 😊

Did you check your Lot # against the list which shows the actual expiration date with the extension?

I haven't purchased them yet, we do not cruise until February.  😊 Getting close to our 90 days out mark, and the Rapid Antigen testing sites around here are being very unreliable with a lack of testing materials and having to cancel on short notice.

I've still been looking to book and even though other hotels in the surrounding areas are showing availability most near the Waterside District are still showing as sold out. I guess I need to figure out that 333 magical date to book it!

Hilton The Main is currently open for booking thru May 31st.  It is not open for June 1 and forward.  That should help give you an idea as to when your dates should open up.

Makes sense -- when we returned to Baltimore in Feb. 2019 on Grandeur we did not get off the ship until almost 9:00 AM - and it was close to 10:00  by the time we had our bags and in a taxi.  Because we had a number of trains back to Stamford CT to choose from, we had played it safe and booked at 1:00 PM --- I doubt you have those options for SC.

Thanks from two retired Navy vets.

    😄
No.  We have 2 options.  10AM (ish) or getting back to our home station @ 3am.
We could drive, it's only 8 hours but I don't get to ride the train very often.

It is 15 - 20 minute drive. The main question would be how long debarkation will take in September 2022. Pre-Covid I would say yes if you do self debarkation. Things might be different post Covid. Also the Amtrak schedule will change several times before September 2022 so the train time might be different. Best way to get from the cruise port to Penn Station is Uber/Lyft. Second best option is a taxi.

Thank you.   If we manage all 3 currently booked cruises by then ( cross yer fingers!!), we will be platinum and can make a run for it, but hadn't considered new COVID regulations. So I'll just plan for an extra night in a hotel and catch the next day's train.

  7. Hi there!  We have a bit, cruising out of Baltimore in September of 2022, but since we have nothing else better to do than dream....

We're looking at taking Amtrak to Baltimore and back home and this will be our first trip to Baltimore.   We'd naturally come in a day before, but is is feasible to plan on making our 10:04 am train upon debarkation?
What's the best way to get to and from Penn Station and/or the Cruise Port?

Congratulations 🥳🥳🥳 I entered a ton and I wondered if anyone won too lol.

I supposedly won a $15 Uber gift card on one of their instant wins, but I never saw an email from them, never got a code and now the instant wins are gone from the website.

My two cents, if your machine is old, have your ins. provider send a new one, just tell them it broke.

In reality they don't last forever.

Thats how I got a new cpap machine.

He's on his 3rd machine since February of 2018, which is why he's a little concerned about it breaking.  He doesn't trust them now.
He's already ordered a smaller portable backup, so we're good to go.  😊

Like all the Fantasy ships, the midship dining room (Elation) cuts the ship in half and you have to go above or below it to make your way to the other end of the ship.  Not a big problem, but somewhat annoying if you are used to newer, larger ships with thoroughfares on just about every deck.

Which dining room is assigned dining?

We've sailed several times on the Fascination, but this will be our first time on the Paradise as well.  Thank you for the information.  I appreciate it.

Which cruise line are you on and which embarkation port are you leaving from and when?

Grand Cayman is on GMT -5, meaning 5 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time. Does not observe Day Light Saving Time.  Thus currently GC time is the same time as Mobile, New Orleans or Galveston and 1 hour behind Florida ports time.  After November 1, GC time and Florida ports time will be the same.

    Thanks!

    This answers my question.  :classic_biggrin:

Just tell them your ship and posted docking time...they will know if there will be a "time change" on that sailing!  They do this ALL the time!

Unfortunately, this is not the case.  She is asking for confirmation from our ships authority on the island time that we will be arriving.   I had already given her the posted arrival time.

  14. Normally I set my watch to ship time and don't worry about anything else.  This time, we are taking an independent tour of the Island and the tour operator would like to make sure they know what time island time we will be arriving.
Can anyone tell me if the ship time and island time are the same for George Town Grand Cayman?
