  1. Well that was a bust - I emailed him twice with our request for a tour and he took about two weeks to reply. By that time I had contacted another tour company, highly recommended on TripAdvisor, gave them our requirements, they confirmed and so we booked with "pay on the day". Too slow to respond.

  2. I think Bojana and Alexandra were on Silhouette in Jun and Sep 2021 when we did the round UK and the Spain Canaries cruises.

Alex has subsequently been promoted to junior officer and moved to Reflection, where we were lucky to meet her again in Jun 2022.

Anyone on Beyond now send Bojana our love and I'm hoping our paths will cross again some day soon.

So glad they added World Class Bar to Beyond!  I couldn't find a menu when I was doing my pre cruise planning, so I'm sharing pics now LIVE from Beyond. Sorry if this is redundant, but more search returns, if it is! 😀 Stop by and see Bojana!

    Cheers!

Wasn't Bojana in the WCB on the Silhouette? I am sure she was working with Alexandra.

Is there any decent snorkeling from the beach at Carlisle Beach? Are there better options?

I am also interested in tan answer to this as we booked the Carlisle Bay Beach Break with Celebrity for our upcoming Equinox cruise.

What is the snorkeling like there, heard mixed reviews. We have our own equipment, but hubby is not so confident, so he will stay close to shore. I on the other hand will go for miles if there is a lot to see! 🐟🐠

  5. We like to treat ourselves to once or twice to a Celebrity burger from the Mast Grill when on a cruise, usually for a late lunch after excursions. Whilst on the Apex this past September, the size of the burgers seemed to have increased. The burgers we received on the Apex were thick Quarter Pounder burgers, which was a nice surprise. Previous cruises on other Celebrity ships (Silhouette, Milennium, Infinity, etc.) the burgers are usually the normal burger thickness and about 2oz.

Just wondered if anyone on recent sailings could confirm if the thicker Quarter Pounder burgers are now being served on the other ships, or just on Apex? Wondered if it was a fleet wide change or special for Apex Mast Grill.

Can't wait to relive this during our Equinox Holiday and NYE cruise this year! We have been on Eclipse and Infinity over the Christmas NYE holidays in the past and had a blast!

  7. I have just purchased a prescription mask for our upcoming Caribbean cruise (my second mask in 10 years). I find this an absolute necessity for me (-5.25 & -5.0). I tried contacts but they are not suited to me, I also had a prescription insert, which was better than nothing, but fogged up very quickly.

I find a prescription mask is great, even though I only snorkel occasionally, once or twice a year. I would recommend.

TUSA Elite mask and snorkel set for just under $100.00.

  8. Is Galley Bay any good for snorkeling? Or is Deep Bay better?

Looking for a snorkel / beach day from the cruise ship at end of Dec. How much would a taxi be and are they easy to get for the return back to ship?

  9. When we did the "dead sea on your own" tour from Apex in Sep, we went to Kalia Beach Resort. I think the "Masada and Dead Sea" tour used the same one. There are steps to access the beach, but there is a golf buggy to take you down. Some additional walking from the drop off point.

Beware if you are unsteady on your feet and even if you have good balance, the walk into the sea is very slippery with mud.

There are many chairs and umbrellas on the beach to use, for free and we were given a towel and token for a locker to keep our stuff in.

Just up from the beach is a little bar for snacks and drinks.

It is a long day and gets very hot.

Hello, we going to Fort-de-France, Martinique in December of 2022 on a Celebrity cruise.  To be honest I never heard of the place. So looking at what to do while in port.  I'd like to do something with spice tasting, just wondering if I should book a tour or do a walking tour on my own.  Any suggesting/advice would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

Hi 19pamela68, are you there on 27 Dec 2022 on the Equinox? We are on that cruise and also looking for an island tour, with Rum distillery. Would you be interested in sharing a tour?

    Hi All,

We have a cruise leaving from Civitavecchia and just wondered if anyone has recently cruised from there and gotten the required antigen test locally, I’ve read it’s pretty widely available across the big city’s in Italy these days but we will be travelling to Civi 2 days before the cruise so will need to get it there (unless the requirement is dropped by September 🤞🏻

locations & price info would be helpful if anyone has that 😊

We cruised from Civitavecchia in June this year, and also stayed 2 days prior to our Reflection cruise. We used a tele-med test via a video from our hotel which worked well. We received our results in <15 mins. If you prefer a physical appointment at a pharmacy in town there are a number of options available, contact your hotel to enquire.

Den, in case you didn’t see this, those of us with a cruise departing on a Monday will have a great deal of trouble getting a test anywhere in Italy, apart from an airport, the day before. Everything is closed in Italy on a Sunday. With difficulty you may find a pharmacy in a town open 0900-1200 only. So if you’re not flying in the day before , like us, it really is a problem.

I’d like to see them change it to testing for Up to Date available at the pier if required. As you say, that’ll take time so with luck most that can get a test beforehand will do so.

Some of us have a cruise out of Civitavecchia on 03 June, so will now require to be tested on 02 June, which is a public holiday in Italy. Most of everything in Italy will be closed with only limited number of pharmacies providing a service, even in cities like Rome. We fly in 2 days prior to the cruise because there are no flights from our local airport day before. We have now paid and arranged a supervised test via video, which we will have to try to re-arrange. Talk about stress! I will need a much longer cruise to get over this, assuming I actually get to go on this one!

  13. Another vote for the Hilton at FCO. Very convenient for the airport, arrival or departure. Always had good service and no issues. I have stayed there for business and leisure. We are booked in for the night after our next 2 cruises so we are right at the airport for our morning flight. No hassles.
