Deck 3 was used for passengers on all Silhouette summer sailings. The Theatre Production cast were isolated on deck 7 - one member had covid so the rest were isolated for 14 days - no production shows for that period and extra Guest Entertainers were brought on to fill the gap.

I was on Silhouette end Sept and tested positive on the cruise. I was isolated / quarantined on deck 3. The whole front portion was clear and plastic sheeting over carpets and as someone else mentioned the elevator did not go to that deck, unless there was a special key used.

So sorry this happened to you, but happy you are here to share your personal experience with others. Thank you and wishing you well.

Thank you to all for your well wishes. Luckily my infection was mild and I was not too ill, but it knocked me out for about a week. The cough lingered for a few months! It has not put us off cruising as we have 3 booked for next year! To be honest I felt safer on board than at the local supermarket or grocery store.

I wish everyone the best wishes for Christmas, stay safe and hope that the New Year sees a slow but steady recovery from the horrible virus and a re-opening of travel.

Was the cabin handicap accessible? I just wonder how they would handle a passenger that needs an accessible cabin for quarantine

I did not require an accessible cabin, but looking at the deck plan for silhouette, there are 4 accessible cabins on deck 3, so that should not be an issue. All cabins on deck 3 were reserved for quarantine/isolation. Plastic covers on all the carpets for easy cleaning and disinfection, no access to general passengers and all staff servicing those rooms for meals etc. were fully suited in hazmat gear.

This is interesting as it conflicts with what I thought they were advertising that they were doing.  I thought they say that they will provide private transportation home for you if you are positive.  It sounds like that is not what they did for you unless I am misunderstanding.  After your 4 day quarantine, were you flown home privately?

No need for flight as the disembarkation was UK and that is my home country. We were parked at the port and hubby collected the car and drove to collect me from the terminal.

In answer to when I was tested. By halfway through the cruise,  I had gone ashore in 2 ports and the following day,  a sea day I developed a cough and felt tired, so stayed mostly in the cabin. While moving about the ship masks were required by all. The following morning feeling a little worse, I informed the medical team. They quickly escorted me to the Med Centre for tests ( in hazmat gear). The test came back positive and I was escorted to the quarantine cabin. All passengers and crew that required quarantine or isolation were located on that deck.

My personal experience. Cannot say what protocols may be for Caribbean sailings from US.

  5. I was moved to a deck 3 OV cabin. It was not all bad, I could still order meals from the MDR menu. These were delivered each morning with Breakfast. You phone up Room Service to place your order and state the time for delivery. They were pretty prompt and the meals not too bad, temp wise. You could also order wine/beer or other drinks, but do not expect coffee or tea from Al Bacio, I tried once and whatever it was that turned up did not resemble my order for Oolong tea!

My hubby was negative after being tested twice and so was allowed to stay in our cabin (balcony deck 10) and move around the ship, dine in the restaurants, etc. pretty much as normal.

Hope this puts minds at rest, although I must say this was one of the first Silhouette cruises to the Canaries in Sep 2021, so thing may have changed.

  6. From personal experience:

First thing is to quarantine the passenger. Passenger is normally escorted in full Hazmat gear, to a cabin near Med Centre.

After that the options are: 1) that the port health authorities at the next port can insist that all positive cases are off loaded to a local hospital/isolation hotel to complete the quarantine, or until a negative test. Passengers do not normally fly to their country of residence until the quarantine is complete.  2) the passengers who are positive remain in quarantine on the ship, until the disembarkation port.

I think this depends on how far into the cruise you are and rules in the countries visited.

I was lucky, I remained in quarantine on deck 3 for the last 4 days of our 11 day cruise.

Bojana and Alexandra.  We didnt ask for permission to post pic, so leaving that off.  They are alot of fun though.  Partner got the Zacapa Above the Clouds, one of the smoky fun drinks.

Say Hi to Alexandra from Sian & Stan. We were lucky to have met her on Silhouette in July and Sept.

We have a reservation here for one night prior to our April 22 cruise.  Has anyone stayed there?  It is supposed to be only a 15 min walk to the cruise terminal.  It looks nice, but I have also read some reviews that the area may not be good after dark.  Thank you.

    Hi Mina

Which cruise are you on in Apr 22? We are on Celebrity Infinity 24Apr2022, staying 1 night prior.

Thank you we probably will not walk.  How,is,the general location of this hotel, is it a safe place to stay?  It is in the Plaça Catalunya near the entrance to La Ramba.

I think you will find that Andante Hotel is not" IN Plaça de Catalunya", but on Avinguda de les Drassanes. We have a reservation here prior to our Infinity cruise in Apr next year. I have not stayed here before but have not heard bad reports. We purposely booked away from Las Ramblas and do not intend on going there due to the tourist traps around that area. I would however recommend a walk through the Gothic Quarter (Bario Gothic), which has some fantastic architecture.

We sail out on the 18th from South Hampton.  Is that the name of the mall or the store I’m looking for?  How large is that shopping mall.

El Corte Ingles is the name of the store, I assume you have the address? Just show the taxi driver and he will drop you there.

We have booked a walking tour of Vigo, but it looks like you could walk around to see the sights quite easily on your own.

Sorry Jackie but sometimes when using/ giving directions I will point left and say right, maybe because I am left handed. At my zumba classes a new routine I need to stand behind the leader to get tricky left/right footwork😂 but now I'm too old to change.

I too struggle with Left and Right - another lefty. Similar story for fitness classes too, if stood in front of the instructor, I tend to mirror their moves! Have caused more than one or two pile-ups in class. 🤣

Sorry about that - we liked them all except the comedian on the first night.  We think "Just John and Paul" are a better Beatles act but enjoyed the Beatles Experience. Matt McGurk was excellent especially as he did big illusions as well as close up. His magic class was also great fun. Still we can't all like the same things.

😄😄 Quite agree! We actually liked the female comedienne!

I had been looking at 18th October Canaries cruise about 3 weeks ago, hesitated too long and price shot up by £1000 . No way can they justify such an increase. We ended up booking the one before that to Spain and Portugal on 8th October for about the same  as the earlier price

Doesn't look like the 18Oct2021 cruise is on sale now! Sold out?

    Inflated Cruise Prices

I was just looking at the prices for the 11 night Canaries cruise on Silhouette and was surprised  to see that they are more or less double the price of an 11 night Caribbean cruise on Silhouette in November out of Florida. The difference is significant at just over £6000 for a 1A balcony out of Southampton to just over £3000 for the same cabin out of Fort Lauderdale. The US price with $900 deposit is even cheaper and the non refundable element is less than the UK penalty in all cases. It is very disappointing to see Celebrity indulging so outrageously in the “rip off Britain” culture.

This cruise has shot up in price over the last few weeks, although the UK Staycations have seen dramatic reductions! I have been checking prices and the 27Sep C3 cabin is now £1000 more than my C2 cost me!! 😲

There are a few things on the website that are open to different interpretations...

Don’t miss the boarding day lunch, however, we are skipping breakfast at our hotel to make space for it. The burgers really are very good....

On recent UK staycation cruises the boarding day lunch for Concierge guests was not being offered. It was scheduled for one of the sea days - so pretty much like just another lunch!

Don't bank on it being offered for your cruise.

Can someone who has recently cruised on the 7 night staycation form Southampton to Liverpool/Belfast, let me know which nights the Chic nights were please?

    thanks

    Rob

On a 7 night cruise there is likely to be 1 (one) Chic evening. On cruises >7 nights they have 2 (Two) Chic nights. On our 23Jul 8 night staycation, Chic night was night 2 and 6.

Any one had a CELEBRITY MOVEUP offer on a staycation cruise?

Not received anything and get an error when I try and access via direct link.

    15 days from sailing.

We had a move up offer on our 23Jul2021 staycation cruise. Minimum bid from Concierge for a Sky suite was £500pp. I didn't go for it as I always think the move may be in a worse position on the ship or under the pool/gym, which would be my worst nightmare.

Thanks, we also have experienced speciality restaurants opening at 5.30 on some cruises, hence my question.

Not a big deal but there are a few ports where we leave at 6pm so we would like to pre book Tuscan as it opens to make the most of those great wake views...We also would like to book Lawn Grill as it opens as it leaves port one day so we are at least settled and comfortable before the North Sea ‘breeze’ sets in! We can’t at present access information for our cruise via the app but we are beginning to get some insight from CC responses.

    Sincere thanks for your reply.

    Hi Chemmo

You asked specifically for information on Silhouette - the times stated were per my last cruise, a UK Staycation on Silhouette, 23 Jul 2021. I assume you are on a Staycation yourself. Enjoy, Silhouette is fantastic and all the staff and crew cannot be more happy to be back at sea.

We are looking forward to being back on board Silhouette on 27 Sep 2021 for the first Canaries, Spain and Portugal cruise.

  19. Hi midwestchick

Typically stores in busy resorts can stay open until 22.00 or even later. Larger supermarkets open from 9.00 to 20.00. Apart from the major tourist resort areas, many shops remain closed on Sundays. Restaurants serve lunch between 13.00 and 16.00 and dinner between 20.00 and 23.00 and of course, there are some restaurants that stay open all day.

I think you will find that most shops, restaurants and bars near the port and in the main tourist areas will be open on Sunday.

  20. Hi Chemmo

Sushi on 5, Murano and Tuscan are open for dinner 18:00 - 22:00 daily. Petit Chef at Qsine has 2 dining times 17:45 & 20:15 daily.

For lunch Sushi is open daily from 12:00 - 15:00.

Can't confirm for the Porch or Lawn Club as we did not use those. On the app, the Porch is quoted as open for lunch 12:00 - 14:30 & dinner 18:00 - 22:00 daily. Lawn Club as just open for dinner 18:00 - 22:00.

    Hope this helps.
