  1. Yeah, I thought it was a little pricey too but it was better than my local Leagues Club espresso martini. What I found interesting was Princess has a cocktail called something like 24 karat gold which some people next to me at the Wheelhouse put me onto. If I'm not mistaken, it was $15.50 and contained a tonne more alcohol than the martini. I was three sheets to the wind that night (and really the other nights too, I 'spose).
  2. OK, thanks. I haven't checked with my partner as she's been busy working elsewhere but I'll see if she kept her charges print out when she's free. She was also having complete connection issues with Medallion Class so I don't know if she checked her folio that often and I don't think any of us thought about going through the room TV to check the folios. It was pretty clear-cut; the Wine List showed our inclusions and that's what we ordered from. I knew my casino spend would be on the account and a shirt. But the billing is strange. Each night shortly before bed, I had a $22 Espresso martini but none of these are displayed on the account or charged nor were the differences charged. I might just keep quiet and wear the few dollars if the martinis were somehow automatically comped for my folio.
  3. I'm confused by the Plus package. I just found my onboard account printed out in my baggage. It seems my Plus package doesn't include drinks on the "Inclusions" on the wine list. I've been charged for 2 × $16 and 2 × $12 wines over two nights at Bordeaux. I know I didn't go over my daily drink limit at that time because I was still getting plenty of drinks afterwards at the Wheelhouse. Because the Medallion Class app was always so buggy, it often failed to load my folio charges so I was able to check and I didn't check on the Sunday morning. What a joke. And this when I gave Princess a somewhat glowing survey. 😠
  4. We've never sailed Princess before and have never had an alcoholic drinks package and when we checked the other pages on that wine list it just appeared to list bottles rather than by-the-glass selections. We never scrutinised the wine list any further and simply assumed our our selection was limited to that Plus list on the first page each night.
  5. I've just checked the Princess website and I think I might have been getting AUD and USD confused. My Plus package is listed as up to $12USD (https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/food-and-dining/beverages/ and the Premier is $18 USD
  6. No, the June 16th cruise. Yeah, maybe the staff weren't informed about the USD --> AUD conversion. I was told that my package was $16 for the plus and the guy told me it was $18 for his Premier. I never questioned this because I was mainly drinking Scotches and had the wines off the included list and these were well within the $16 limit. I also had a number of cocktails and the bar staff told me they were included on my package. I notice the computer screen they use to enter the drink display in quite large text the drink package attached with my folio. I know the the Espresso martini (valued at $22) and maybe one or two other cocktails in the higher-value range of drinks would be charged to my folio and I was OK with that. Maybe someone on the next cruise can clarify. I'm guessing the staff think the limit is $18 AUD and are overriding the package or something. Not sure...
  7. Yeah, I wish I saw the guy upon disembarkation and asked him how he went, but he told us the wait staff said it was chargeable because it was $19 dollars, i.e. outside the $18 limit but the passenger quite rightly said, "the page says inclusions". He was certain he got the correct package, but yeah, I don't know what the result is. As I was only on the poor man's drink package, I didn't want to get too much into the guy's business with the staff. He and his missus were having dinner and probably didn't want us bombarding them with questions.
  8. In the roll-call section, I posted about our room not having a 240v outlet so we had to grab a couple of plug converters from staff. I'm not sure why our room was missing the outlet, supposedly added to the desk. Other passengers I asked had the outlets. On Baja deck, where we were, the deck was practically empty so I don't know why we weren't offered to be moved. I know a lot of appliances are multi-voltage but things like hairdryers and curling wands don't work so great on 120v
  9. Just a note about the two beverage packages. There's Plus and Premier I think the second one's called. We had Plus. At dinner, we were given a wine list. The first page shows the Plus "inclusions" and the second page shows the Premier "inclusions". I only had the sparkling brut and the SSB from the Plus page and had no issues. On the first two nights, there was a guy and his missus at the table next to us who bought the Premier package. I understand this covers up to $18 beverages, however, on the second night he told us that a wine he had ordered from Premier Inclusions page of the wine list didn't include the $19 wine. I forget which wine it was and I mustn't have taken photos of the wine lists. The page for the Premier package clearly lists it as an "inclusion" but he was charged full freight for it (i.e. the $19). He only realised he'd been charged that day but hadn't yet gone over to guest services to question why he'd been charged for a supposedly included wine. The last night, the couple went to Bayou and not the Bordeaux so I wasn't able to find out if he got a refund and why Princess lists it as included when it's really not. If anyone's going back to the dining room, please check if the wine is indeed included. Actually, I found a picture of the wine list the boss was holding. It's not very clear but if you zoom in, you can get an idea of the wording.
  10. I just got off Pacific Explorer today and checked my statement. I don't have it in front of me but I noted I got charged an extra for partner charities donation when I glanced over it in the stateroom before disembarkation. It was only $1 but I don't recall selecting any option for this. My cabin mate got the same charge.
  11. I called today in the afternoon but was told no to requesting a stateroom. The dude said because of the fare I picked, it was just a guaranteed balcony and would be assigned closer to the sailing date. However when booking, I don't recall being given a fare option where I could choose my stateroom.
  12. Sorry if this is in the wrong category but I couldn't find a more appropriate area. I remember a few years ago I stumbled across a website that would calculate one's CO2 emissions from a particular voyage. On the site, you'd enter the number of nights, cruise ship I believe, and some other details. It would work out the amount of CO2 generated and allow you buy an offset. I remember I did this for an 8 night cruise aboard Legend or Spirit here in Australia and it was cheap. It was under $100AUD or something if memory serves me. I don't recall the website and Bing searches have not yielded anything useful. Cruise Critic hasn't either. Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology but if anyone can perhaps refresh my memory, I'd appreciate it. This wasn't cruise line specific... It was a global initiative from an NGO or something like that. With cruising starting here in Australia, I want to offset my impact as much as I can. The sooner cruising becomes cleaner, the better a reputation the industry will earn. I still read uninformed comments about how bad cruise ships are but at least I can do something.
