Rome last month, my husband and I (mid-fifties in tourist gear) got stopped by the Italian police and asked for our passports.  He took them from us, got in his car, plugged in our information, came back out 10 minutes later, handed them back to us and thanked us.  No idea why we were singled out amongst the many others around the area.  So it does happen sometimes.

In today's world, I think you have to be prepared for anything!

  2. It depends what you are doing in port.  If we take a cruise ship excursion, we leave them in the safe.  If we do a private excursion, or just go out on our own, we take them in case of an emergency.   If you don't already have one,  I highly suggest getting a pouch that attaches to your belt and can be placed inside your shorts/pants...... in our case, my husbands!  We have one that is the size of passports and he carries them there along with some extra cash.

Last week at main Royal terminal (1?) Cape Canaveral there was a single line to get into the terminal except for suites/key.  Line was a zigzag maze going out to the end of the garage, wrapped back near door and then back to the end of the garage.  No checking of boarding time and no separate queues for times.  Groups with kids that needed testing were pulled where the line got closest to the terminal so they didn't have to go back out again and through the maze.  Not sure if Mariner will use this terminal or the one across the bay for OPs cruise.  Taxi/Uber dropoff was on the side next to the line.  Buses were on the inside and were closer to the end of the actual line.

So is it easier to just park first and take our luggage rather than deal with a crowded drop off and then try to park? We are in a suite, so not worried about the line.  I know at some ports, it's hard to drive in, drop off and then get back to park.

Good to hear. We are using them next Wednesday and I had already asked in advance if the same proctor could handle both my wife & I and the answer was of course yes, just let the proctor know.

Are you cruising on a Friday?  We are sailing next Sunday and was thinking we  need to schedule for test Friday.

Don't have a suite, have 3 balcony cabins

I was just researching it over the weekend so the other thing I saw is priority disembarkation at TENDERED ports. So you might check your docs to see if any are tendered. None of ours were. Then I looked at our suite to see what was included because the wifi with Key did sound like a good idea, but everything but the rock climbing and those activities which we won’t do were included with suites. Hope this helps you decide! FYI they drink and wifi package is a good deal too if you are doing it.

Have booked THE KEY for upcoming Italy/Greece Odyssey of the Seas in August. Mostly for the tendering perk, and wifi.  Got a good price.

But would love to know more specifics.  What everyone was able to accomplish with it.  How was the lunch for embarkation.  Seating at shows, shorter wait times, etc.

    Thanks in advance!

If you have a Suite, most of the Key perks are included

    already.
