Yesterday, when I saw the change the cruise pre-planner my first response oh, no! After checking our 4 pending cruises, Royal's IT department did not disappoint me. IT history has repeated itself. I always wonder why when something is working why do they have to change it for the worst.

 

On our Freedom cruise it shows two diner reservations and two entertainment choice picked. Prior to the change all we have is the character breakfast and Ice show. I can not see what has been selected. Well we have time to work it out.

Why does everyone blame the IT Department! These issues usually are caused by the Web Developers which in some cases are contractors and not the Internal IT Group. I have worked it IT for over 20 Years and 98% of these issues are related to bad programming and not the IT Team itself. Give Us Guys a Break, LOL!!!!! :D

Some riders also wax their boards for better foot hold and allows them to do better tricks.

My question is whether they will allow you to bring a Body Board other then a Waveloch Board. I work with Carbon one of the up and coming BB companies on the Flow Tour and my sons would love to take them on Oasis in August! H

Great Start! We are heading out for our 2nd Oasis trip in August. Thanls for getting me primed!

We have always cruised in August since the rates drop the last week or so. We have only had 2 real issues with weather. The first was getting to FL from NJ and the flight out was delayed (glad we went a day early). The second was our first Oasis trip and one of the Tropical storms caused some port closures and changes in the Itinerary but overall it was still a great cruise.

I know that anytime I cruise I will enjoy it! :D

I intend on getting the royal replenish package for my upcoming cruise. I will probably book it in DH's name as he is the one that goes to the bar most often ! ( We do not intend on sharing the package ). My question is if I want to get a speciality coffee or bottle of water while he is at the gym can I use his card ?

Wouldn't he have is card with him at the Gym? So to me his card wouldn't be available for you to use while he is working out.

While we are on the subject of the B & J Suite (and not to hijack this thread :o)....what ships have one and what are their cabin numbers? TY!

Freedom, Liberty and Independence and it is Cabin 6305 on all 3!

We had the "Sweet" several years ago on Liberty, and when we got into the cabin there was a nice little folder that explained everything you were entitled to. There where 2 coupons for the ice cream with 1 check box for each day. There where 2 White Key Cards that said they were to be used for access to the CL and other Suite Guest area's in the Main Theater, Studio B and on the Pool Deck. No other amenities were offered.

I hope that helps! we enjoyed staying in the Sweet and would do it again if we can tear ourselves away from the Oasis and Allure.

Lessons are not mandatory but both of my sons found them very helpful. As a matter of fact since they took the lessons, the sports staff let them ride longer. They have also both competed on the National Flow Tour for the past 3 years.

We had it on Liberty a few years ago and never had an issue with noise when we were sleeping. The only time we really heard it was during an event on the Promenade. Since it is the access door to the Promenade Bridge. Watching the Cruise directors staff running in and out for the event was kinda fun.

When I booked our time for comedy show it would not let me include my grandsons a message came up saying must be 17 to attend. Is this enforced can they get in as we could not make reservations for them. We are on the Allure is the early evening show that adult and vulgar?

Each Comedian is very different as to the content of their show. On Allure and Oasis they are pretty strict about the age limit when booking in advance. I'm sure that it depends on the comedian if they allow younger kids in that are in the stand-by line.

Ok thanks for clearing up that its Liberty not Freedom. Just to clarify a bit more, we are only getting Anthem for part of the year, and then Liberty comes? Am I getting this straight, and if so does this pattern repeat itself every year? If this is the plan, I hate it. If its just waiting time till Anthem comes here permanently, them I'm on board.

The order is:

Quantum November 2014 to April 2015

Liberty May 2015 to October 2015

Anthem November 2015 - No Info on how long it will be there.

I'm sure they won't appreciate the vast majority of planned restaurants on Quantum, with their western menus (other than Silk & Izumi).

 

It does seem like Royal wasted an awful lot of time and money promoting this ship in the New York area, only to yank it away after one season.

Sorry I find this post a bit offensive and close minded. How can you assume that the Asian Markets won't like the Western Themed Resturants or the Western Style show Momma Mia? Why would they only like Silk and Izumi, from what I know the offerings there aren't even close to the food that is normally found in those markets.

Your assumption that they "feel embrassed" sounds to me like you look down on them. How do you know how they feel? If thats how you thing then I have Symoathy for you!

Since it seems that there are three free dinner restaurants, we shall clearly be eating in the formal one a good many times over the course of a cruise, say six or seven. This is a lot of times to wear formal, especially since the whole ship will not be doing likewise and you will stick out like a sore thumb around the ship later. Suppose this means having to eat and then go and change back into smart casual for the rest of the evening, which is a real nuisance!

 

I think somebody at RCI thought they had a clever idea 'let people who want to do formal do it, and let others not', but since it is tied to a resturant, it severely limits your choice if you don't do formal!

I saw your other post and was confused about how you would get bored with eating off the same menu for 2 weeks. if you choose to plant yourself in the Grande, then I could see why. I don't think you would stick out like a sore thumb as many others would choose to also eat in the Formal Resturant. This also gives yo a chance to pick which days you do formal if you didn't like doing formal on the 2nd day in you don't have too!

I myself always went back to the cabin and changed after dinner most formal nights anyway so I could be comfortable during the evening, but that is my choice.

Yes, it is going to get very boring, eating off the same menu over and over again on a two week cruise!

Wouldn't you be having the same Menu items from week 1 to week 2 anyway? With 18 places to eat and the many choices in each, I'm sure you could find something different each of the 14 days.

I'm excited about having more options to choose from. I remember how many CC'ers complained about some of the Oasis Class firsts and now seeing how many peole love both of them makes me laugh.

Luckily if these options don't suit you, you can always cruise on the other classes and get enjoy the MDR to your hearts content!

Now RCI, publish the Summer 2015 Schedule for Quantum already. :)

I unlike others, am looking forward to trying something different. Different Class Ship, Different Options. They aren't changing the entire fleet over to this concept are they? I tried NCL's Freestyle concept once and did not like it, but I also didn't like the ship nor the food so I'm sure RCI will bring a different twist to the concept.

Plus after seeing the current RCI Menu's not sure if the MDR is my Cup of Tea any longer!

We typically sail the last week of August every year in the past 7, except one. We always buy insurance so not to worried. Our first Oasis cruise had some rough weather, and we had to change ports of call, but all in all it was a great trip!

Didn't Oasis and Allure switch Dry Dock spot because of the engine issues with Allure?:confused:

As others have said the Steam rooms are included in the Thermal Suite Spa package because of how that room is laid out. There are 4 Thermal Loungers, 2 Rainfall type showers and 4 different types of Steam rooms. It was only accessible to those with some type of package or Day pass. It was unlimited use with the Suite package and never had more then 4 to 6 people in it at any given time. It became a very restful place for us to escape and just relax especially on the Heated Stone Loungers. I would do it again in a heart beat! :D

I'm sure someone will post which level is used for MTD...if that's not the level you want, don't book My Time!
