  1. We were on the Milli in April and had Aqua.  The first night the wait for dinner was over 2 hours.  It was better after that (anytime dining).  We just went ahead and booked the 6pm dinner.  We have been mostly Carnival cruisers so Celebrity, even old Celebrity, is a huge step up for us lol!

@cruising sister Thanks for all the information!! I leave tomorrow for FLL and will be getting on after you get off. I am in Aqua so hoping no long lines at Blu but its a vacation so I will be chilling!!

We're getting on Saturday also, and have Aqua.  We went ahead and made a reservation to avoid lines.

Has their been any progress on a/c issues in the cabins? Are there certain decks or areas more affected? We are scheduled to be on deck 9 AQ class next week and wondering if those staterooms are impacted.

Thank you to all that have taken time from your vacation to post updates from the cruise this week.

I wonder if some of these "a/c issues" have more to do with American's needing more a/c than most other people around the World and not necessarily anything mechanical.  If you've ever traveled to Europe you know what I mean lol.

Some things you can do in your stateroom to help the a/c.. 1) when you get in your cabin on embarkation day, don't go onto the Veranda.  Leave the door locked.  2) close the curtains.  On embarkation day, the stewards are cleaning the rooms and leaving the doors open to work as well as they usually leave the curtains open so that when you walk into your cabin, it isn't dark.

Thanks for all those great pictures. I am booked on Infinity in October. Millenium- Class ships are still my favorite X-ships- even though they are now over 20 years in service!

I sailed Infinity twice and I don´t expect all the bells and whistles of a brand new ship. I had that at the Maiden Voyage of Apex last June.

Wonderful cruise but I don´t like that class of ships AT ALL.

I hope they have all in hand in October. What I expect of X- is a spotless clean ship. I am quite prepared for a few signs of wear and tear!

I love that class ship also.

I am very interested in learning more about both the Bimini port stop and the Puerto Plata one.  I am booked on this itinerary later this summer.

When in Bimini with Crystal last summer, there was a tram from the ship that made a few stops around Resorts World and the beach.  Did this happen for the Celebrity ship?  Also, there has not been an options online to book a day pass at the Resorts World Beach Club, only an excursion to Paradise Beach.  Was that offered as an option on your Celebrity Cruise?  Doesn’t the tram stop at Paradise Beach as well?

I have never been to Puerto Plata and am wondering if it is safe to go out on your own or if we need to book an excursion.  Most of the excursions that I am interested in include long bus ride (which I am not interested in).  I saw the beach break and have looked at the falls.

Thank you for any information you can share.

I read that you couldn't book the Resorts World pass until you were on the ship.  Have to do it through the app or at the desk.  Not sure if this is true.

  6. We've sailed both the Summit (loved) and Milly (not so much) in the past 6 months.  Love this class ship.  I thought Infinity had gone the being Revolutionized.  Is that not the case?  We're embarking on Saturday.

I'm hoping that the Casino has a craps table open (Milly did not) for our cruise.  We're in Aqua for both cruises.

As far as the AC, usually day one every ship has issues with the AC, especially Veranda cabins.  When you get on board, it's best to get to the cabin as soon as you can and close the drapes.  Also, most cabins turns the AC off is the Veranda door is open.

Thanks for all the updates on this thread.  Keep them coming!

It seems to me that the way passengers are treated for a positive test is much worse than the effects of the disease itself.  Given the negligible number of people being hospitalized for the latest Sars-CoV-2 strain, instead of mask mandates, maybe they should just discontinue testing and quarantines.  If people feel healthy enough to cruise, let them make their own decisions.  There is always a risk of getting some illness when around a large number of people in small spaces.  And yes, some people will have underlying conditions, maybe even unknown to them, that put them at greater risk when contracting any disease.

As for buffet issues, it has always been this way.  Many people just tend to be unsanitary, but it hasn't killed me yet.  In fact, I've probably gotten more sick from food being improperly prepared and cross-contamination in the kitchen than by handling a buffet tong.

A lot of truth in this post!

  8. Celebrating my wife's birthday the first night of our upcoming cruise on Allure.  Puchased the Birthday Room Decoration package with the cake and strawberries.  Couple of questions:

    1) Are the decorations delivered to the room for me to decorate or does the room steward set it up?

    2) Do they have it set up on the first day of the cruise?  I couldn't find anywhere to tell them which day.

    3) Is the chocolate cake as good as advertised?

    Thanks!

How does one get to Junkanoo beach from the cruise terminal, we’ll be on the Celebrity Apex. Thanks 😊

You can walk from the port but since downtown is basically closed, might as well take a taxi.  The taxi drivers need the money...

  10. You can walk to Junkanoo but since downtown is basically closed, better to just grab a cab.  They really need the $$$ anyway.  It's probably about a mile walk if you decide to walk it.  Junkanoo is worth it.  Snorkeling is ok but it's a fun little beach with good food and cold beer... 🙂

  11. Thought I read somewhere on here that it's better to wait to get on board before buying packages like dining and drinks.  Is that true?  At the current price, would be better for us not to purchase a drink package since I get comped drinks in casino and my wife doesn't drink much.  However, if they drop the price on board, that might change.  Any thoughts or what's been the experience since the restart?  I'm not eligible for the Always Included due to the casino comp.

  12. So we now think that the cruiselines should accomodate, outside the terminal with lines and such, people arriving early when the guidance has specifically been, "come at your allotted check in time"?  SMH

We're cruising next weekend on the Edge.  Our check-in time is 12:30.  We plan to get to the port around noon.  If we have to wait outside for < 30 minutes, I'm ok with that.  If they can get me in and on board earlier, that would be awesome.

I would assume that these are part of the Always Included program that everyone has now.  They are just reminding you of these while on that page

Beaufort SC - great town, was just there a month or so ago.  worth the time to go there

Yes, Beaufort is awesome.  We love it.  Grew up here.  Thanks.

So by "Perks" means it's included?  I have a casino comp so not overly sure what I'm getting lol.
