  1. No, the drinks package has nothing to do with the loyalty scheme, just pointing out that it is significantly harder for a US person to pick up the requisite number of voyages to reach the higher tiers as it is more expensive to fly over to do the short journeys. Agree that the loyal scheme is not exemplary, just stating a difference between the US and UK market. UK Cunarders can get to diamond more quickly and cheaply, for what it is worth. Perhaps Diamond members should get free drinks! 😉
  2. Looking at it from another perspective, I don't believe we in the US get access to "saver" fares, don't usually have a cruise/fly package with flights includes, and have to take a long flight to take trips that don't leave from a US port). US passengers have fewer opportunities to do short cruises that add up to Diamond status unless we want to spend the money to fly over and back for a Southampton-Southampton trip. Different marketing strategies for different customer bases.
  3. However, the US site has this under the accepted tests section: (https://www.cunard.com/en-us/the-cunard-experience/sailing-with-confidence/our-assurance-to-you#vaccine) Definition of a medically observed test. All guests must use a medically observed self-test that meets the criteria below. Only medically observed self-tests will be accepted.

  5. Thank you Bell Boy. While there is only the tiniest connection to Cunard (it is a biography and the subject did return from WWI on the Aquitania) I thought it might be a nice thing to do.
  6. Is it possible to donate a (new) book (that I have written) to the QM2 Library? My initial thought is that this can't be done, but thought I'd ask! 🙂 Thanks!
  7. We are sailing 8/5 and are on the fence about going given the letters received (the day before sailing) by those traveling on 6/24 and 7/1. Trying to make up our minds given my husband's preexisting conditions. Has anyone scheduled to sail after these dates (that is, someone who has NOT received a letter but who is planning ahead) successfully used the offer to transfer, postpone, or cancel their voyage? We'll talk to our Cunard person this week about the possibilities, but curious to know if anyone has done this. Reluctant to wait until the day before to see if we get an email as there are so many other moving parts that need to be resolved if we decide NOT to go. Thanks for your thoughts!
  8. Thank you so much! 🙂 Forewarned is forearmed!
  9. Question for Brooklyn embarkation - is luggage given to porters before you enter the terminal to join these long lines or later? The last time embarked in Brooklyn (in 2013; in 2019 we embarked the QE from Manhattan) I believe we sent our luggage ahead and did not have to juggle at the terminal. This summer we will be arriving in a vehicle with all our luggage and it will be too much to zigzag back and forth across the terminal. Thanks! I can cope with lines if I know what to expect.
