Yes. Carnival is still doing the free wine on the first night. The free wine selection was limited so we did the 50% off a bottle of wine instead.

I just went through the boarding process with my daughter who has an exemption. The waived fee for children was $50 and the cost for adults was $150 which wasn't waived. This is completely different than pulling up to CVS and doing the test yourself. The check in process is much more involved. There were 3 different check in's, an escort to the testing area, the test itself and then an automated email system that sends the results. The fee is definitely justified for the amount of extra work involved.

Will an Electric Verification Card work like Clear Healthpass which I setup for my upcoming Hawaii Trip? Would be cool if we could link it to our Carnival Hub so we don't have to worry about loosing the flimsy card
They want the a the actual card but they did say you can use a digital code. The procedure might need different so best to give Carnival a call.

I heard/read that cabin service is only available once a day (for safety reasons). Although Carnival has been trying to get folks to choose once a day for some time. What was your experience? Any chance we can get service twice a day, like before, if we requested.
No. The protocols only allow them to do once a day. Our steward stopped by on the first day and went over that with us.

I’m sure they’re already off the ship. Hopefully they remember how to do the turnaround.
They definitely did remember. Our stateroom was read early.

Ok, so that is indeed normal then? Just feels weird that I have nothing that says it, you know? It was listed on their website, but I didn't think to take a screenshot of it, so I literally have nothing stating that I'll get it. Just wanted to know if I was going to have an issue before I got on, I guess. 🙂
Thanks though -- at least now I know that it might be correct still.

The $100 OBC was in my S&S account on the ship.

Note that I also keep all of my emails. But, in this case, as I explained above, there was no email for the $100 OBC bonus. It was simply stated on a web page when you went to check the status of your cruise last month.
I received mutiple emails for the additional $100 OBC. This was from 5/20.
We are now working to confirm protocol requirements for each destination and for our guest operations. We will be in touch again by the end of the month with more information on our specific guest and destination protocols and if any itinerary changes are required. In the meantime, we want to remind you of the options available to you:- Remain on your 8-day sailing and receive a $100 per stateroom onboard credit should the sailing operate. Final payments for August sailings had been pushed back but will start to become due on May 31, so you will need to remit on time to avoid cancellation.
- If the time is not right for you to travel, you may reschedule or cancel your reservation by your final payment date with no penalty. You can call 1-800-CARNIVAL, your Personal Vacation Planner, or your travel advisor to rebook for a later date. Many of our itineraries are open through 2024, with more coming online soon, so we’re certain we can find another great alternative, if that is your preference.

The Horizon just got the testing letter.

Yes. It's normal. Carnival has stated that it will be there once we get on the ship. I am sail tomorrow and I printed the email just in case.

I have a B2B on Mardi Gras next month so I have to get tested the last day of the first cruise? Bummer, Ah well cost of cruising right now. I am fully Vax'ed but not biggie just ready to cruise.
No. The testing on Carnival is only out of Galveston.

I could continue to sail and would receive an additional $100 OBC for NOT cancelling the cruise.
That OBC won't show up till you actually get on the ship.

Does the insurance through Carnival cover your flights like some other plans or just the cruise? In all of our cruises we have never purchased it, but may this time.
I think it's only flights purchased through Carnival but I may be wrong since I skimmed through that part the other night because we drive.
-
We always get coverage because our health insurance doesn't cover anything outside the US.

Looks like Miami is requiring everyone on B2B cruises be tested in between. Even vaccinated. That should speed things up.
It's just Galveston. On the Vista they're doing the testing in the Limelight Lounge.

You need to submit for exemption. Carnival has been fairly clear that exemptions are almost all for children. There was an exemption for a 16 yo I read for a medical reason. I have not heard of one for an adult yet but that doesn't mean there haven't been any. At this point, you are only in the window for J&J if you are thinking of getting a vaccine. I would not be expecting to cruise on July 31 if unvaccinated. No real percentages, but I would guess less than 1% chance.
Carnival approved a number of adults yesterday for Saturdays Horizon cruise and it seems like they gave exceptions to everyone that held out till the end.

I've noticed no 3rd option - Have you been previously diagnosed with and recovered from Covid?
- The Forgotten 20
In the EU and other places that option is available but only if you had it in the last 180 days.

Ok. That's just the initial injuction in Tampa. I was thinking you were saying the appeals court ruled and they're based in Atlanta.
-

No. The court date has not even been set. This one is a ways off and it is not going to be a document discussion. The appeals court could just send it back down to the Judge and we know how that will go.
The CDC filed an emergency motion this morning for relief and that's supposed to be ruled on first.

The appeal failed in the Atlanta Federal Court where the CDC appealed it to after the Federal judge in Florida denied the injunction?

Bubble Tours
These are the excursions for those who did not or were not able to have the vaccine. With the exceptions only being Half Moon Cay and Princess Cay, these guests must take a “ Bubble Tour.” We have added some today for La Romana and Curacao and to those waiting for a response for their exemption request I do thank you for your patience and hope that we do indeed see you soon. Finally more bubble tours but the website is down. They now just need to add one for Aruba.
