I'm a bit baffled by those who don't like Luminae, but of course to each their own. I have NEVER had such delicious food and attentive service in a main dining room. The food was absolutely delicious in Luminae and well worth the upgrade for me, along with the real veranda and Retreat lounge.

How does it compare to specialty dining?

I paid $18 for a Manhattan at our community Clubhouse bar which part of our HOA fee goes to supporting them.  They also add a 20% gratuity on top of that.  I have paid less for a Manhattan in midtown Manhattan and on a cruise ship. I haven't purchased a cocktail from them since. A glass of 4 buck Chuck is $10 plus the gratuity. I think our HOA should offer a drink package.

You are in the wrong HOA 🤣

Anyways ours charges 4 to 6 during Happy Hour.  And the House Wines are better than Celebrity's.  Go figure...

Last week we were at the Westin on the San Antonio River Walk.  They were serving $6 Margaritas that were better than Celebrity's.

Now if you want to compare them to the Las Vegas strip, that is the biggest money-making venture in the world, then compare on 🤣 The drink prices are comparable, but the entertainment does not compare ...

I make a better drink than any of the bars anyone has mentioned so far...  Carry on ...

X drinks are much more expensive than other cruise lines. X drink pkg also higher than other cruise lines. JMHO!

You forgot that other cruise lines packages have higher drink limits.  For example Princess has their packages that cover $15 and $20 while Celebrity is at $10 and $17.  You can go to DoTheMath.com but the Celebrity package is grossly overpriced.

There are 1646 cabins on the Beyond.  198 are suites.   Therefore 88% of the passengers don’t think so 🤷‍♂️🤗

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Yep.  It depends upon what the OP has become accustomed to.

I had a miss last weekend.  Somehow I managed to book a hotel room that was smaller than anything that I had previously booked ...  🤣  I knew to look at the size of cruise cabins,  but not hotel rooms.

I have a Chevy Truck for that..

what were we talking about again? 🙂

I used to have a RAM truck for that,  but my state gets it's gas from California.  My gas savings pays for a cruise or two every year.

We were talking about upgraded cabins vs. regular cabins. 🙂

Or upgraded cars vs.  regular cars 🙂

Perhaps more to the point, or at least equally important -- Be sure you have a way to pay silly sums of money prior to the reimbursement if you ever want to check out of the hospital!

All of the insurance you had wouldn't have done you much good if you hadn't had a large open amount of credit available to you, or a quick way to move liquid assets around via wire transfer, etc.

So how much credit is enough?  100k on cards?  200k on cards?

They’re a new cruise line to me!  Are they a real luxury / premium line?

If you want a cruise line I would say AMA Waterways.  The cruise that you purchase is the cruise that you get.  No closing venues down for cheesy art auctions.  No trying to nickel and dime during the cruise.  Always a consistently good product.

    No!

If it were we would learn what a good thing it is to lose access to a lounge for an entire cruise.

I think that these Q&A questions should be quarterly where we vote on the top 3 questions.

If only we could understand why Celebrity keeps on trying to downgrade the experience 😁

I think that I know the answer.  More and more profits.

I don’t think it would tick off the majority of cruisers if they did the same thing. Or is “Thank you for your service.” just an empty statement?

I seriously doubt that they would spend days and hours taking over a venue.  They would allow every one in.  When I contributed they did not say,  we are not taking your donation because you did not contribute enough ...  We are not allowing you in because you did not contribute enough...

Again you are comparing a highly questionable organization to a prized organization.  You think that they behave the same?  There is no comparison in my mind.  I would be embarrassed if I compared the two.

Noble cause vs highly questionable company.

One shows the good work that they are doing and asks for donations to further the good work.  The other tries to wear you down to purchase overpriced prints.

One values all contributors.  The other kicks the art fans to the curb who are not in the 100k purchase club.

Popular as a quiet place for some. Doesn’t generate revenue most days. The bar doesn’t even open until late afternoon.

Which leads to the question.  Why are people paying luxury cruise prices for the suites, when they are neither luxury nor priced appropriately?  For a luxury destination they realize that the non-revenue producing venues are part of the luxury experience and that everyone does not need to be nickeled and dimed at every venue...

Will Celebrity every get a Michelin starred restaurant onboard their ships?  Probably not...  The value has been diminished on a Celebrity cruise.  They used to be a step ahead of the competition,  but I don't hear complaints on the Princess boards about these trivial Miami induced fiascos ...

Since they have sunk below Princess, is Carnival and Royal their competition?

Hi I’ve received an email to bid for a MOVEUP on my stateroom and to enter my bid for classes of Veranda, Concierge and Aquaclass. However when I look at this cruise as though I was a new customer all these classes are shown as sold out so how can Celebrity offerbyou to bid for an upgrade when it is all shown as full ?

We WON a MoveUp bid for the Millenium when the ship was sold out.  Why?  People cancel after final payment...
