    Respectfully disagree.

I am disturbed by someone making a statement like this without any evidence.

As I have indicated a couple times here.   I had a discussion with my Doctor when the form first came out and he signed it for a B2B2B.   He did also caution me to the CDC guidelines.

On many Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Facebook groups, every person who said they tried to get their doctor to sign the forms said the doctors refused due to liability.  Maybe you have no health pre-existing conditions like high blood pressure, afib, high cholesterol, diabetes, copd or asthma, but many 70 year old have at least one of those.  The form clearly states that the doctor certifies the person has none of those chronic conditions, not whether it is well controlled with medications or not.

Maybe the Jammer will just have boxed lunches - choice of selection A, B, C or D - comes with a salad, sandwich, cookie and with plastic utensils and a napkin. Head out on deck for your picnic lunch - maybe snag a spot in Central Park............and no ants!!!

Many of us don't eat things like cheese, eggs, meat or salad dressing in salad.  Many don't eat mayo, mustard, cheese, ketchup, etc. on sandwiches.  We prefer the buffet as I can fix a nice veggie salad and then go back for some sort of entree.  We have been on ships with a small amount of noro and staff served you from all the buffet stations.  I think that would solve the problem.

Then I guess an actual Dr would understand that and all would be worked out. The form isn’t a technical document giving directions to the Dr, and they can figure it out just as they do on many other very similar forms.

Actually from reading people's responses to the note in it's current form, no doctor will actually sign it for those over 70 who tried.  They say it's too much of a liability.  So, no one over 70, even those without any medical conditions were able to get it signed prior to cruises being suspended.

Again, you are saying you’d cruise (pandemic or not) if your Dr wouldn’t fill out the form thinking you are not well enough? Have you looked at the form?? If your Dr wouldn’t fill this out, your shouldn’t be cruising. If your Dr has told you they won’t sign it, then get their statement, send it to your TA and let them work it out with X.

The problem with the form in it's current wording states that the person does not have any chronic condition, not the severity of those conditions.  Many of those 70 and over have high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes (or type 1 from childhood), atrial fibrilation, asthma, copd, etc. and are very stable with medications and/or lifestyle changes (exercise, diet).  Right now, they are at higher risk of having cmplications for Covid-19, but during normal non-pandemic times, are medically fit to travel.  Let's hope that this is only for during this pandemic!

  5. We booked an Equinox cruise for the Fall of 202 before the new pricing went into effect.  With all 4 perks for 11 nights in a balcony cabin and refundable deposit, it was $5115.  After the raise in prices for beverage packages as a perk, it is now $6115.  There are a lot of cabins available, so it's not a supply and demand things.  The increase for the $14 per day per person should have been $308.  The cabins are still at the same prices as when we booked, so they effectively raised the cost of the premium drink package as a perk to about $1000.  Ridiculous!

Thank you for your very kind words!

We did not try to lock our iPads in the safe, so I can't say for sure, but I doubt one would fit.  If it did, I think it would be very tight.  I hope someone else can answer for sure.

I tried to put our I-pads in the safe in our balcony cabin and they would not fit.  However, we fit our passports, car keys, wallets, a camcorder, 2 cameras and my jewelry pouch in the safe with some room to spare.

Alleged designers who care nothing about function.

While the cabins may have looked new and modern, the furniture appeared to be something along the lines of Ikea.  Particle board with some sort of a veneer finish.  My nightstand drawer was off the rails and did not open smoothly.  We asked the cabin attendant about it and he said it should have been screwed to the rails, but was not and to open it carefully.  For a ship that was only redone about 7 months ago, I find this disheartening as the rest of the cabin furniture could also end up breaking quickly.  We sailed on constellation in 2016 and if I remember correctly, the cabin furniture was real wood.   The closet door handle had a rough spot on it and I cut my arm on it.  I think for the money spent, they could have done better.

  8. We are doing a B2B cruise into the Norweigian Fjords and then the Arctic Circle next June, 2020.  I am looking for recommendations for hotels on Copenhagen prior to the cruise as we will be arriving 5 days prior to the cruise.  During the time we are in Copenhagen, we would like to go to Sweeden for a day trip or 2 day trips.  We would like a hotel with breakfast included, moderately priced with queen to king size bed.  We will need transportation to the hotel and the cruise ship terminal.  With the length of the trip, we will have 2 large suitcases, and either 1 medium and 1 carryon or 2 carryons plus a tote bag, so public transportation to the hotel and cruise terminal would not be manageable as we are in our mid 60's.  I do not do laundry on a trip and will only have the cruise ship do socks and underwear as they wash in hot water.  We will also need transportation to the airport from the cruise at the end of our trip.  I am not sure where to start to look for information on the hotel and transportation ideas.  Would it be better to rent a car versus paying for taxis and then paying for tours to Sweeden versus doing it on our own?

    Thanks!

Just checking back in on this post. Great subject by the way. Celebrity cant like that only 32% of their current passengers will guarantee to cruise with them on their next cruise. There isnt a company in the world that would be happy with a 32% retention rate on anything. And the scarier thing for Celebrity in this thread is that LONG STANDING loyal customers are talking about jumping ship to another line. Not a good look for them.

I think that they are trying to appeal to younger demographics with the Egde class ships, but have missed the mark.  Also, the revolutionizing is taking away cabin and bathroom storage space and many items in the passenger areas look uncomfortable.  I don't know who the designers are, but it seems to be apparent that none of them have cruised and especially for longer or B2B cruises.

  11. With the definition of Sophisticated Chic including designer jeans, my husband now wears nice dark pants with a cotton polo for all nights on Celebrity. I wear black pants with cute tops and have somewhat sparkly tops for Chic evenings. It's what we wear to a restaurant such as Morton's or Capital Grille in warm weather.

  12. The storage in all the cabins below the suite level is already substandard. Now it appears there will be less storage. I agree, the designers should live in this arrangement for 2 weeks and see how they like it. I guess we shall all be cruising with carry on from now on because there won't be room to store anything else!

Looking at the drawings, there does appear to be less storage and more open shelves. I personally want my things organized and stored where they are not seen and won't fall off an open shelf in high seas. There is no where near enough space for a 14 night cruise in cooler climates or in Europe, where you need more than a bathing suit most days. No shelves in the closets either. Where will the safe be? I saw pictures of the bathroom on another site and there is hardly any shelf space. No cabinets or drawers like the S class. Don't like the new designs. No desk drawer.

  13. Pee can be addressed with chlorine but fecal bacteria is the real problem...requires.automatic closure, draining cleaning/ sanitizing and refilling..spray park area is cleaner

I am a nurse. Urine is sterile (no bacteria) when it comes out of a person's body unless they have a bladder or kidney infection. Bowel movements contain E.coli, which can cause people to become sick. This is what they are afraid of when a small child is in the pool and not toilet trained. Same with any adult who may have diarrhea or be bowel incontinent.
