Even if the statement " nothing more is expected" was added, there would be those who would still do the palm or envelope to " feel better ". I even witnessed some using their OBCs in the stores to buy merchandise for their attendants. They proudly made that fact known.

You are right of course.

The auto tip is now expected, no longer seen as a tip but part of wages. Next comes, how much is enough in the envelope or palm. Many have said, including me, it seems to never be enough, as there is a competition for who can leave more. I wish I could say, I feel good after extra tipping but more and more it has become a guessing game of how much should I give in order for it to be enough, in order for me to feel good. Of course I see no solution. There will always be upmanship. You can see it even here, those who say how good they feel after leaving an undisclosed amount in the envelope or palm.

Yup and because of that, there is NO ceiling to happiness. Included gratuities no longer have any meaning, no matter how many times they are raised. Greasing the palm or envelopes are expected...can't escape it.

I like auto tip as well, but stateroom staff are no longer happy with that only, since so many still do the envelopes on top of that.

the tipping issue had gotten out of control... we now feel, no matter that we do the included grat, give extra at the end, it is NEVER enough, we always feel someone gave more and they are disappointed... to always feel it is not enough is very unsatisfying... we thought the included grat would be a good idea, then we just dont have to deal with the envelopes and not have to think about it anymore...nope it is the same old issue..envelopes and still feeling it is not enough.... anyone else feel like that?

yes, we have wasted a lot of years with Celebrity and have come to O very late.

That does not sound good. We are doing our best to get to 10. Any changes to loyalty should be positive ones not clawing back.

Yes a number of cruise lines are cancelling Morocco. No idea if something else can be substituted, will probably be a sea day. No need to sail into any port that may pose any kind of threat. Of course that could eliminate so many locations that cruising may become just that.

Morocco stands out for me since we are due to be there, Casablanca, in three weeks.

In Casablanca it is an everything market, large but not as large as in Cairo or Istanbul.

Good to see you Feta.. We will be on the Marina, TA, in November. In Morocco, Casablanca, we have a 4 hour ships tour, which includes the market. We have been to Casablanca before and loved it, especially the market. Now with what is going on in the world, I am somewhat more nervous, especially the market. Hey, hope to see you on another O cruise. We only do O now.

It's not the distance from Morocco to Israel that's important , but Morocco to the nearest possible supporter, turkey? North Africa? But then there is unrest in much of Europe as well. O in their wisdom I'm sure will do what is necessary to keep passengers safe.

O may cancel the port. But if not, would anyone hesitate doing a ships tour in Casablanca...including the market? There are state department warnings but nothing specific yet. We have been before and would very much like to stop again. Will see what everyone says.
