  1. Hi so I wrote the special needs department through the web site, twice, did not get back any acknowledgement of my correspondence.  My husband needs to have boost in the morning and sometimes in the evening to add calories.  He is a chemo patient.

Does anyone have experience with this? What is the best way to make this happen.  We are only on a 5 day, so we'll probably only need 10-12 of these shakes.

I'm so sorry as we are in Colorado as well and had to cancel 2 cruises in September as we both got COVID and hubby spent 13 day's in ICU. The good news was that we tested negative 30 days later.  I am hoping you will test negative and get on the cruise ship. Good luck and get better!

How scary for you!  Amazing how hard this virus hits.  Wonderful that you are better, and thank you for your well wishes!

  3. Talked to my doc.  Fortunately this only hit me bad for one day.  Still isolating until Tuesday, and will get another test before I start the drive to Texas.  If I test positive still, and the doc said there is that chance,  although I am not contagious, I won't make the drive.  She said after 10 days from onset of symptoms, you are not contagious.  She did say the plus side is that I'll have great immunity, so not to get the booster for another three months.

I am hoping I can still cruise and my husband has been taking tests and we are still keeping our distance.  Nice to know that with Royal I won't lose any money.  So as much as I'd like to go on this sailing...(the deal was outstanding) I can deal with what I need to do if the test is positive still. Thank you all for your input and advice.  I'll wait until the week of the cruise before I make any firm decisions.

  4. I went on a cruise with my parents, they were in their late 70's at the time, me in my 50's.  All three of us were quite comfortable, we would leave at appropriate times so we could each have space/time/privacy to get dressed for dinner. It was their first balcony room, and having all three of us in one room afforded us that "luxury".  I took the couch and it was comfortable with enough room, and I am 5"10".  If saving money is an objective, I say go for it!

I didn't say you should go if you are not recovered. I was just pointing out that there can be a difference between recovery and testing reverting back to negative.

I totally understood what you meant. No disrespect intended; I appreciated your feedback. I feel great today, but also realize that I could still be contagious.  I am isolating for 10 days at home.

People can test positive for some time after recovery. It is not recommended to retest within 90 days of infection. It gas nothing to do with receiving the monoclonal antibodies.

@WindinmySailsI THINK it is still the case that if you had Covid within 90 days of sailing that RCI will accept physician documentation that you had it and are recovered. They do this exactly because testing can take a while to revert back to negative after recovery. However, things change fast and perhaps that is not still valid information as far as RCI accepting the documentation. You may want to check with them.

Going through the rules, I do not believe that is an option anymore. They do not accept doctor's notes.  I also want to make sure that I am not shedding any virus to anyone else, but thank you for the thought.  As much as I'd like to cruise, I would feel horrible if I was indeed shedding and infected someone else.

Bad info. We took the PCR but were afraid the test wouldn’t make it back on time so we took the RAPID the next day which came back negative. We received our PCR test results the second day of the cruise and my wife came back positive. We did the right thing an reported to medical. My wife is in the COVID ward now and they are flying us home tomorrow. We are on A b2b so our vacation has been cancel. So why worry about a negative result from the RAPID and you got COVID. I wonder how many people on this ship with COVID but not know because they took the RAPID.

That is my concern about a PCR test for cruising....the time factor . We live in Denver and were going to drive to Galvaston and I do intend to get a PCR test before I leave Denver to make sure I am not infectious.  (my husband as well)  I hope your wife has a speedy recovery!

  8. Thank you all so much for your comments and suggestions.  The doctor said I am eligible for the monochronal anti bodies, so hope that will help. Haven't had a fever since 11/7, but am very tired and still can't smell or taste.  I am concerned about my husband, and him getting it. I need to be watchful on him.  We are separating as much as you possibly can in a 900sq ft. loft. (crazy, but I love it)

  9. Just had a PRC test, and came back positive for COVID.  I am fully vaccinated, and ironically got super sick the day I had scheduled my booster.  Sunday I had a fever, and felt like death, lost all sense of taste and smell.  Monday, felt fine but tired, had PCR test.  Tuesday today, came back positive.

So my question is should I just cancel my cruise for  November 26th, or would I probably test negative by then on a rapid antigen test.

I am sick about this, but need to plan ahead.  We are driving, not flying. Thanks

We are considering asking for a refund on the KEY membership completely as the main reason we got it was for reserved seating with a short-attention-spanned toddler and if she can't even be in that section it makes the very large amount of money almost a total bust.

I'd cancel the KEY for this sailing.  I know the rules are frustrating, especially when you have a young one, however some of us are cruising because of these rules.  I love kids, I would love to be around them, I'm vaxxed, but my husband has stage 4 cancer and the reason I picked a line with such strong rules was so that I could take him.  I do feel you though, I loved traveling with my kids and hope that inspite of all the rules you have a wonderful time!

  11. Coloradan here.  All that stuff legal here, but I would not feel safe bringing it even across state lines, let alone a cruise ship. It has really helped my husband with his cancer treatments....but we will do without any of that on our cruise.  My nephew took some pot (yes, I know pot is not CBD) and got in big trouble taking it across state lines.  Taking CBD to a different country, when it states it in the rules...I don't think I would take that kind of risk.

Does she want any activities? AI or PAYG. Pool/no pool?

I think she'd be into some activities, a pool would be nice, and I am sorry,  don't know what al or PAYG means.

  13. Hi my sister is looking for a low key or rather not "rowdy" beach club in Cozumel.  I haven't been to any, so, I can't suggest any to her.  Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Thanks so much!

Options yes! Now sorry to hear about your husband. With that said, since all adults MUST be vaccinated, and assuming your husband does not hangout in children's schools .... then even a maskless cruise is FAR SAFER for your husband then anywhere he could possibly go in your own local area.

Totally agree, that is why we picked the cruise we are going on.

  15. Not everyone is vaccinated.  If i remember correctly, children can still cruise, and they are not vaccinated.  I am good with Royal's decision.  My husband has stage 4 cancer, trying to live life while he still can, and I was happy that they hd safeguards in place.  It is nice to have options!

Oh, and on a side note, my mother, fully vaccinated is now struggling with COVID.
