Possibly, but you still have the 7th Oasis class ship coming plus Star and the 3rd Icon class ship. Just my two cents opinion, and probably not worth that much, but I think the majority of RCI cruisers won’t get excited about a new, smaller class ship (if/when it happens).

I agree with you.  The majority will probably not care.  I am in the minority (I believe) as I love the smaller ship classes.

  2. I have heard it mentioned recently as well, but this is the first time I have heard someone give a time frame, other than sometime this year.  Of course very soon can mean different things to different people, but it seemed sooner rather than later. 🤷‍♂️

Current threads/discussion on the new class. It's been hinted at for about 2-3 years now, but more recently captians have been mentioning it at Q&A's and Bayley has even dropped mentions. No real details, just that "it's smaller". But there's lots & lots of speculation….

  3. I posted this in another forum section (Austrailia/New Zealand) to an existing thread, but I figured I would mention it here as well.

On Grandeur now and the captain, while speaking at the loyalty event also did confirm that we should be hearing about a whole new class very soon.  He did mention that it is not as large as the current classes being built and said it would be a little larger than the Grandeur (Vision Class).

For what it is worth, he also mentioned dry dock for Enchantment and Vision in the coming year or so, so those ships should be staying in service for at least a couple more years (as of right now.)

I'm curious, why would you want a mix?  Is it just to make sure you have something (in case you never get the link like what happened to PP)?

I create a commemorative framed and matted collage so to speak of every cruise we take.  I include the embarkation photo as well as a generated map route and the SeaPass cards of everyone.  That way I don't have to use my ink and printer paper for the prints.  I also like having a digital copy so I can include them in my photo library.  Plus my wife creates a photo album for each cruise as well.

I bought the 100 picture package on the Oasis in 2022 and again in 2023.  In each case, I was able to upgrade to an unlimited package onboard for an additional fee.  (They didn't list the unlimited package online or on the signage in the ship photo department.  I had to ask in the photo dept if unlimited was available.

I had to choose to either get all 8x10 printed photos or to get an email with a link to the digital files.  There was not an option to get a flash drive.

    1.  What was the up charge for the unlimited and is it based on what you originally paid for the 100 photos?  For example I paid $125 for the package on Anthem.

    2.  Also there was no option to get a mix of print versus digital, it is either one or the other?

Some rude Diamond members have also been known to slip into the SL when the DL coffee machine was broken just to grab some cappuccino to-go. The nerve of some people.

Do not all DL give coffee cards out when the machine is broken? We were on Liberty recently and the machine was broken and the Diamond Concierge gave out cards to get coffee/espresso/cappuccino elsewhere.

This was the first time we experienced a broken machine in the DL.

  8. Not sure about Adventure.  But in Chops on some other ships, the entire row by the windows are 2 tops.  So I would imagine there may be a possibility, if Adventure has that configuration, you could accommodate a very large party by them just moving multiple tables together.  As long as they aren't booked close to capacity.  Make Chop's your first stop as soon as you embark and speak to the host/hostess there and see if they can accommodate your request for however many people you have.

Connecting rooms have the potential to be more noisy than non-connecting rooms.

I would agree with this.  Anytime I would choose a stateroom guarantee, I would always get a connecting stateroom.  After about four-five times, I changed my booking process and made sure I would never get a connecting stateroom again.  I may have just had really bad luck, but you hear everything.  Fighting, kids yelling, above normal conversational volume, bathroom/closet/balcony doors slamming, TV, and even adult fun time (which may be a plus depending if you are into that sort of thing 😉).  If those things bother you, just bring some noise cancelling earbuds or some earplugs just in case.  Unfortunately you never know who your neighbor will be, so be prepared just in case.

  10. Do you use a travel agent?  Maybe your email address incorrectly got put on another's booking. 🤷‍♂️  I am pretty sure that RC checks that the guest name/DOB match the C&A number before the booking is confirmed, otherwise it throws up an error.  So that is probably not a possibility.

  11. Some of these operators only have specific allotments, then once that allotment is gone, they have no more unless they can get more from the supplier (resort).  There may also be certain limitations they have with the supplier as they can only offer X resort on X days during X month or X days out, etc.  Like the OP said, if one doesn't have it available, check around, or at least check back occasionally as the days get closer to your port day to see if there is availability.

I am not going to attack your opinion. The medical emergency resulted in a change of venue.

If there was no medical emergency and the cruise line had to change venue, what would you think the compensation should be in all fairness?

You are still getting all of the amenities except the highly rated island is being substituted for one you could care less about.

What percentage of the cruise fare, regardless of the cruise contracts, would you feel adequate to compensate for this change? Try to think of how your cruise experience was reasonably damaged by this change of venue.

I have yet to be compensated for any change of venue on any ship I have sailed.

If change of venues get to be a common recurring thing on a higher percentage of cruises, cruisers will have to weigh the inconvenience against the cost and experience of cruising.

I am not sure how many cruises you have been on but the experienced members of this blog know there is nothing to do about it but not cruise or pick another cruise.

    Regards,

To answer your question, anything more than zero would be fair.  I am not implying that they should give some large amount back in a form of a refund like some here think I am suggesting. I would have be fine with a $25 per stateroom OBC, which costs RC next to nothing to give out.  The issue that I have is that they keep doing this stuff because they can.  Customer service and goodwill goes a long ways, and any gesture of it would be acceptable to me.

Benefits of getting the WOW band:

    - You can use the band again on future cruises, but you'll have to return to Guest Services again.

Just curious.  Will they let someone use the Star Class band on a future cruise even if they are not in Star Class?  Sounds like a way to get some of the perks of suite class  without having a suite.  I am referring to some of the benefits that don’t require scanning the band, for example preferred seating. Not advocating for it, nor would I ever do it, but just curious.

  14. Does anyone know which room to book for the City Cruise Terminal (Royal Caribbean) view?  There are City, Premium City, Harbour, and Premium River view rooms.  Looking at the hotel it looks like there is only two sides, so I am not sure which one to book (guessing not city).  I booked the Premium River view since there were less of these rooms still left to book, but I will change it in case Harbour View is the way to go.  If the Harbour View and Premium River View rooms are the same side/view, what if any are the differences, besides room size.  I noticed the photos for each seemed to be the same and there was no real description for the differences.  Thank you in advance.

  15. This especially holds true for those limited sailings.  We booked a Panama Canal cruise on Radiance in a Grand Suite next October (2024).  We booked the morning the deployment was out and got the cruise for just under $6000 for two of us.  All suites were sold out within 2 weeks of deployment and now a balcony stateroom is substantially ($2000+) more than what we paid.
