  1. Its funny reading comments like these. Its the kind of reaction id expect if someone called someone elses baby ugly in their pram. It might be true but it still hurts when they hear it right?
  2. yes I did this in October on wonder. Stayed on ship more than usual. At least on wonder there was much more stuff to choose from in general. They had the entire back of the ship closed off behind the rear lifts as it was nowhere near capacity. downside is the room rates are significantly higher than out of the UK for 2 weeks. Although not really looked this year as going carribean in December on Arvia
  3. the data comes from q3 2022 I think obviously European season 2023 isn’t reported yet as it’s only really just started q3 is peak euro season.
  4. I think people are fed up of the same 6 ports every 7 days every year with various versions of oasis class they put in the med. I bet it’s rarely full even in august
  5. well it’s averages so single cruises are not representative. I’ve been on many oasis class ships out of Barcelona and they have been nowhere near full. July and august will likely be full or above full double occupancy. I can’t see any royal ship being full in April or may or September or October and neither transatlantics. I dunno these are Royals numbers to the stock market.
  6. Beware that the photos are terrible quality with a size of around 1.1mb. 30usd for a single photo from a file size this small is terrible. I compared them to my own photos from a full frame 24mp Sony camera and the difference is massive. when paying this much you should get the raw file and a nicely processed JPEG not a 1mb file.
  7. well if 25% of the ships in Europe are empty they have not caused prices to fall. So your hopes not going to happen it seems. There is also the 23 billion debt pile you need to pay off for royal so I’d put in for some overtime if I was you. Royal needs the revenue
  8. Is it your job with your mate on this forum to just reject everything without posting your own refuting information? I don’t really care to be honest but the information is available to find yourself. your persistent counter disbelief just screams like a royal employee paid to discredit negative reviews online. I hope it’s true and that’s your job. Because if not it’s a sad way to pass your time. my views are my own from my own experience and I don’t really care what you think is or isn’t true.
  9. Royal Caribbean Group CEO Jason Liberty said on the post-earnings conference call with analysts to turn a profit, the company needs to maintain occupancy levels above 90%. In the third quarter, occupancy is slated to fall in the mid-90s range. alaska is 90% Europe is 75% carribean is 107% remember the kids count above max occupancy so likewise kids make 75% look good but actually it’s terrible as adults only it’s likely 70% or less. details on earning calls
  10. Well wine isn’t liquor no matter how much you miss use the word but yes I got free wine. Will the free wine hurt your EPS from your royal shares?
  11. it’s a part time ship because it’s not summer all year round lol. also it’s worth noting that officially royal sailed 75% full in Europe compared to 100% full in the US. 35% of their revenue is from on board spending. Which suggests that £1600 for drinks package on a £2200 cruise is crazy out of line for nearly all passengers. There is speciality and the shops on board etc also so actually people are not spending big on the ships. actually it proves that most cruisers spend very little on the ships.
  12. I got three 150usd bottles of wine for free and didn’t even lose my diamond drinks. Every diamond drink was a double not a single. as I said the staff were a bright spot on this ship.
  13. I guess you just ignored the other people who were in this cruise who couldn’t get sun loungers. $56 in free drinks? You think that’s all I get from diamond drinks? You are clearly a novice.
  14. do you work for them with their name in your username lol corporate shills on this forum clearly are out in force. fact is that royal has lost 13 billion in net income in 3 years and is in debt to high heaven. Look at their net income for the previous 20 years it doesn’t even cover their recent losses. it’s clearly causing cost cutting and price increases and the experience is suffering.
  15. I’m just repeating what I was told. It also matches my own and others experience on board. If they told me they was top 3 I’d have thought he was lying.
  16. yes the 10 year royal staff member just made it up for fun and denigrated his own ship for nothing more than shiz and giggles. makes sense
  17. well my dad was on MSC last year and said it was great. All inclusive deal and balcony for the price of a royal balcony only. I was on P&O in feb out of Tenerife on an older ship and I paid £500 for the room including the flight. Quite honestly for that price I expected very little and found the food better and the service about the same as royals. Just older ship but at least we always had sun beds
  18. came directly from a member of their staff on board. This is why so many staff were like they were walking on egg shells the whole cruise. they are under massive pressure to get better scores it’s the first cruise I’ve seen staff behave like this and it’s clearly a problem for them.
  19. I know the business model better than you do I used to supply bars for one of the world largest brewers. That’s why I know the costs and the prices are out of control now. It’s pure profiteering and it will eventually backfire. Just like the 18 UDP sales they made on 4000 to 5000 guests. That’s 9 cabins on UDP lol. Royal saved me £1300 by putting the price of the package so high I didn’t buy it for the first time ever. How much profit do you think they made on me this year? I used FCC and diamond drinks and didn’t miss the package. If the UDP is £455 I’ll never buy that again either.
  20. Standard mark up lol. I didn’t say they treat euro market any different for prices other than the rooms are way more expensive and the drinks the same price as the US. MSC will do 2 for one margaritas for £8 in happy hour without tips and speciality dining is £20 a head. Cocktails on P&O are £7 and so is most wine. Not 15usd which is around £12.50. oh and somehow they managed to do that without 32usd per day in staff tax and 18% service tax on everything you buy.
  21. I think I need to point out to a few people on here that anthem is the 3rd worst rated experience in the entire fleet of ships rated by both sides of the Atlantic. so the port it leaves from or the people on board seem to matter very little as it’s consistently getting bad scores. Some people are just happy living in ignorance though and quite honestly don’t know what good looks like. There are also plenty of people who do know though and will not be happy.
  22. selling cabins isn’t the issue. People don’t know what it’s like until they book and school holidays are an exception. Royal cannot make profit on school holidays alone. I cannot imagine being on that boat in august. It must be a nightmare experience with 1500 kids running amok. The staff told me what it was like during half term the week before my sailing and they said it was chaos.
  23. Well pricing should be based on market. Especially since Magners or Bulmers cider is made in the UK which makes US prices irrelevant for a UK cruise. A bottle of bud in the UK is 15 GBP for 20 bottles. im still trying to understand how it becomes 8.25 USD when it gets from the UK port to the ship bar. Id love to meet the braindead Royal manager who put together the pricing scheme for Euro sailings. Its like they got the interns to put the menus together this year. Never seen anything like it.
  24. Sounds like panic stations from Royal UK HQ. I bet they will throw all inclusive back on the ships too when it comes back and cut back on the waiters. This year MSC didnt do all inclusive drinks and basically they are having to give away cabins instead. Tui all inclusive is constantly sold out in comparison.
  25. From when 2026? I thought odyssey was coming next? I cant imagine what state indi is now in after doing those short cruises which must be mayhem. It at least cant be worse than Anthem. Chops and Giovannis has a better location with sea views. Izumi has Teppanyaki and the playmakers was better than the one on Wonder but who knows by now. Still has the Champagne bar too. Fish n ships at least is ok if they have a decent cook in it. The only reason they would be considering this is because revenue has totally tanked on Anthem and they likely know any old bucket can do those coco sailings and people will fill it. With regards to Grease, it is my least favourite show ive seen so not exactly happy its still on there. Looks like MSC and P&O are getting my business for a while. Im on Arvia for 2 weeks from barbados in December.
