Oops! Found on NCL.com but undated...so..may not be current...

That's the NCL site for yah!  LOL.  The only Sushi I've found on the Encore is Food Republic.  That said, again, I hate the stuff and know nothing about it.  Just checking for a friend (daughter).

We always get a hotel a day early and call for a flight deviation. NCLs flights can be pretty ridiculous. Usually if they give us a late flight for departure, we will choose to do the excursion to the airport. Since we're platinum, we can get on the ship right away, ncl may have you arrive early or somewhere between lunch.

When we used the flights through ncl to San Juan, we missed the muster drill, and had to do the makeup drill which was organized chaos. Writing everyone's room numbers down on paper, then we received a voice mail in the room that we never attended. Well they didn't even care, could've just skipped it.

That's funny.  We missed the muster due to NCL's air arrangements in Hawaii and willingly just blew it off at Port Canaveral once.  They just kept bugging us until we did something to make up for it (I honestly don't remember if it was a make up session, detention, video, or whatever...)

I literally can’t tell when you are joking. The driest sense of humor ever.

    🤣  Apparently...........you can!!

Stick with me brother, we'll get "there."  Ironically, rats seem to have this sixth sense that allows them to always know when I'm joking.  With all due respect, you may not be much of a 🐀🙂

Pro tip:  just check the reactions to my posts.  If they're a bunch of rats laughing, it was a joke.

Pretty sure it's Wasabi.  Funny that it is on every ship but my favorite, Escape.

Is Wasabi part of another restaurant?  I'm on the Encore in October and can't find it listed in the specialty dining options.  Thx.  (I don't touch sushi but my adult daughter lives on the stuff...)

I saw an August 3rd on the Encore headed south from Alaska to Seattle I thought.  Yup, you can get on in Alaska and do a 12 day rountrip that includes that August 7th from Seattle back north.

Actually, it looks like it's a five day land tour in AK and then an economy flight to Seattle to catch the Aug 7 sailing.

    • Economy class flight between Anchorage and Seattle as well as a transfer from the Seattle Airport to the port of Seattle for embarkation

A little secret.  If you wait to upgrade until you get onboard, you can upgrade only one person in the cabin.  You can't do that ahead of time.

I work for NCL and have just reported this to those in charge.  Don't expect this to continue!!

(jk - great tip for those with sophisticated drinking habits - is that an oxy moron?)

However not the 15% for the Platinum Plus benefit,  as far as I can tell.   I will have to check that for myself

I think you're right.  I seem to recall figuring this out too late two cruises ago and having to cancel and rebook the excursions on the ship.  Despite the marketing, I believe that many of the popular excursions are essentially unlimited (i.e. the ones that only require an excursion bus).

They just kept replying to "Book Now" before prices go up.. Not booking anything until I know their plan.   Anybody got thoughts. Thanks

Why not book to lock in lower prices and promos and then cancel if/when you find out their real testing plan and find it unacceptable?

Providers of the vaccine asked people if they had Medicare or other insurance. The vaccine is free but the providers are allowed to charge for the administration, if no insurance than the federal govt paid the providers for the administration. Medicare pays 28.39 per jab, other insurance paid higher amounts. Those payment sheets are  legal documents. The health dept sent me a printout of my immunizations which included both jabs. It took me two weeks to get the printout from  Texas. all documents cross reference to the CDC card. If people are concerned about the fake cards they should back it up with other forms of identification that they got the vaccine/vaccines.

I'm not concerned about my original CDC card being questioned.  That said, I have also placed into my passport wallet the original prescription slips they gave me at each vaccination.  They replicate some of the info (mfg, dose, provider) but also add more info (prescribing tech, full name/address of administering pharmacy, etc.).  I figure it can't hurt to have some further backup "just in case."

Just wondering if the cruise lines don’t require everyone to be vaccinated…will you cancel?

I don't think it is this binary.  My first post-Covid cruise is slightly more than two months away on NCL.  Currently, the requirement is 100% vaccinated and I really don't see that changing.  That said, a lot can change in two months.  The virus could disappear faster than it has been or it could return with a vengeance.  If the former, I would likely still cruise.  If the later, I would be more concerned about 100% vaccinated.  I will also be watching the cruise lines' reactions to cases.  Quarantining those who test positive makes sense.  Attempting that silly contact tracing (which is fraught with flaws) does not.  I don't want to be quarantined because I happened to be in the same show, or on the same excursion bus, as some asymptomatic person.

OP: is there some reason you didn't add an actual poll to this "poll" thread?

  11. I've purchased airfare through NCL once, and that was one time too many.  IIRC, we had no choice in when or how we got there.  They scheduled us for a ridiculous plane switch at LAX that almost didn't make it (this was one of those running through the terminals situations) and the flight back from Hawaii left at something like 7:00 at night.  The sun was up before we got home the next morning.

When looking at the wording for booking the 2022 cruise it says "Free Open Bar up to $1400".

That's not what it says.  It says:

"Save up to $1,400 on all the spirits and cocktails, wines, draft beer, juice and soda for all guests 21 years or older. Gratuities will be added to your booking."

That's a direct cut and paste.
