  1. I have not read any of the responses, but this is what I do. I ALWAYS carry wet wipes with me. So if someone else is handling the SAME fork/spoon/ladle as I would be doing, BEFORE I eat, I always use the wet wipe and wipe my hands good before touching any of my food or silverware.

  2. CousinKaren, I understand WHY you like this ship in more ways than one. 🙂 You mentioned of cruising on your own, and in my over 15 cruises I have been BLESSED to do, I have met women of different ages, cruising by themselves. I think it is wonderful, but for me, I don't have to have someone at my beck and call all day/night long, but it is nice to have someone to chat with (or zip my dress, etc.) when in need.

  3. The word SKY Princess caught my eye. We have not done this ship, but it is in the "thinking mode." As for the afternoon show, that sounds good to me as well. If you have done the Sky within the past couple of years, would you mind giving me your pros/cons of this ship. The reason I ask, I have about 7 others that are depending upon me for feedback on the ship.

  4. DrewB58, yes the photo package is what sold it for me, as those are MY memories. 🙂  I had cruised Princess a few times before, but decided for the 8 of us to do the Regal, and we all wound up doing the Premier package. Yes there were a few things that I did not use the package for, but for the most part, it was worth it. As my son said, just do the packge and then we don't have to worry about being nickel-ed and dim-ed.

  5. We (7 or 8 of us) have never cruised on a Celebrity ship, and are in the "thinking" mode of doing this ship. If you have cruised on this ship within the past year or so, would you mind giving me your feedback on pros/cons of this ship?

  6. I am in the "thinking" mode for 7 or 8 of us, and we have never cruised on any Celebrity ship, and I was thinking of the Ascent, as it has an itinerary we would do. If you have cruised on the Celebrity any other time (Christmas/New Years is OK), would you give me some feed back of pros/cons of this ship, as the other people are depending upon me to make some good decisions. 🙂

  7. We're thinking of doing the Carnival Venezia next year. A few questions if you or whoever might see this, would answer.

Do they still have the $10 or $15 sale at least one day of the cruise?

Do they have a special "chocolate" night?

Do they still have formal nights, or maybe they call them dress to impress now?

Is there a deck that goes directly from the front of the ship to the back of the ship?

  8. For those of you who have cruised on the Venezia within the past couple of years, I have a couple questions.

Do they still have the show Love and Marriage?

Do they have tea time if a person wants to participate?

Also, any suggestions of something you found on this ship that you liked, compared to other cruise ships you have been on?

  10. I have not read all the postings here, and I don't know if anyone mentioned this or not. I always take out insurance coverage when I fly and cruise. More than one time the insurance has come in handy. One time our luggage (other than what we had with us at the time) went on another ship for almost 4 days. We did get it back, but what a mess!

  11. Many good points posted here. I believe I mentioned we just got off the Princess Regal in February, and did purchase the Premier package. My son said, "Just as well purchase this package, instead of being nickel-ed and dime every time you turn around," which in the long run, I realize was true.

  12. Jamman54, thank you for suggesting that I check out you and Patti's review of the Venezia. It is a LONG one, but very enjoyable reading, as well as the many pictures. I will say I am pretty SOLD on doing the Venezia, NOT for as long a trip as you two, but 7 days, for the other 6 or 7 of us. I was so pleased to see/read about the lighthouse as well, as I love them, and in February, I was able to climb my "3" one in my life. I believe you mentioned you were not to happy with your last room steward, and we just got off the Princess Regal, which was very nice too, and our room steward Philip took very good care of all of us.  Once again, thank you.
