  1. Just a  heads up. I already went to the Galveston,TX area to ask this question, but thought perhaps someone might see it here as well.

We have transportation picking us up at Hobby Airport, taking us to the hotel, and picking us up from the ship and taking us back to the airport.  My question, it seems that NONE of the Galveston area hotels have any shuttle service. What/who would you recommend that we use, if you had done this recently?

  2. You probably already have your answer. We will be cruising a week from today. My son who lives about 30 minutes from us got their medallions about 4 or 5 days ago. We have 3 houses all next to each other. My son got his medallion on Friday, I got mine on Saturday, and my other son is STILL waiting to get theirs, and we ALL live next door to each other. Their medallion system is BAD when sending them out.

  3. We did not book for 2025, but one reason we order the Premier package, as you had mentioned was because of the pictures. I don't know how you do your booking, but I decided to get a Princess Vacation Planner (PVP), and anything I had a question on, she was able to answer up front. So if you have not booked as yet, it wouldn't hurt for you to get one like us, and ASK a few questions before you book. We have had different questions during our process, and our PVP has been able to take care of anything that might need to be done, if someone was not right.

  4. Your question just CAUGHT my eye, and I have not read what others have posted to you here. I understand you not wanting anyone to touch any of your personal items, etc. I will say in over the 30 years of cruising on about 20 cruises or more, our room steward, we have NEVER had a problem with them in any way. Now if you are concerned about money, jewelry, etc. than DON'T bring any where you could not put it in the vault, than you wouldn't have a problem in that area. I will say the room stewards do NOT stay in the rooms long, as your room is NOT the only room they have to take care of, so they are pretty busy, most of the time. It does make it hard on them, but they DO go with the flow, if someone is in their room and do not want the room steward coming in to change the towels or sheets, and they just come back later. Sometimes they come in twice a day, and if a person only wants once a day, then they will do that as well.

  5. Cr8tiv1, I agree about the smaller ship. I have been blessed to do over the past 30 years, about 20 cruises, on different cruise lines. I just like the older/smaller ship as well, especially with the atrium they have in the middle, where I don't seem to see this any more on the new ships.

  6. I'm glad I seen this, as I had been advised the Champagne Tower was usually on the first formal night (I do understand if there are big waves, and things can change), around 6:00, which someone had posted or showed on the Platter. Then someone else posted the Platter, and it showed around 9:00, so that makes a big difference as well. Guess I will have to be on my TOES🙂 , just to make sure I don't miss this event. The reason I say this, it has been "24" years since I did my first one, and WANT to do it again. 🙂

  7. Thank you for your review of the Regal, as the 8 of us will be doing it for the first time, in less than 2 weeks. I know this was YOUR review, with some negativity, as you were comparing it to other Princess ships, which is fine too. As for myself, I always like to READ everyone's opinions when it is in regard to a ship that I have never done, good or bad, and then I go with my "thinking" (I have been blessed to do over 20 cruises on different cruise lines) that this IS going to be a great cruise, and if something happens, we just deal with it. 🙂

  8. We ordered the most expensive package ($80 per day), I think it is called Premier. I just watched a recent Regal You Tube video cruising out of the Galveston, TX area. This lady had the package and said, when she ordered (she knew she could not get alcohol while in Galveston) soda, they CHARGED her for this while in Galveston. She couldn't understand why they would CHARGE for the soda with this package while being in Galveston. If you have this package and you have cruised within the past month or so and ASK for soda while in the Galveston area, were you able to get it with this package without a charge?

I understand that Deck 7 is the deck that a person can walk from one end of the ship to the other end. If this is the case, can that be done outside, or is it done through the inside of the ship?
