Go ! You might be able to upgrade to a balcony again on board if there is a no show perhaps ? - even at a cost it would be worth it ? I expect you would be first in line given the circumstances ? if it was us we would be very disappointed not to have a balcony like we usually do - but for free we would go anyway and and make the best of it.

When we went on Aurora on the December 1st canaries cruise (dec 23 last) they let everyone in almost straight away to check in and we just sat inside waiting for our turn to board - like the old days ! So no queuing outside. Priority boarded first and then by a combination of arrival time/peninsula status and not necessarily what was on the boarding pass ! It worked very well. Not a problem for you - but it is for me. If you like children on cruises then family ships are for you - and there are several. This is about replacement of adult only ships.

Fred Olsen used to to that as well - had adults only cruises on all of their ships for some itineraries. They no longer have any adults only ones.

Yes but it’s the other way around ! They are adults only usually but have a few multi generational ones in the holidays.

Whatever the stats I am sure there will always be enough of us who like the Aurora/Arcadia/Adults only cruises to fill them up for years to come.

Had ultimate at the start so comparing like with like. I did try standard at the start for a few minutes but not good enough so upgraded to ultimate . I haven’t tried standard on starlink

Starlink is live on Aurora. Using it on Aurora now. Ultimate package for the last few days of the cruise. Very good performance in the cabin. About 30 mbps download and 18 mbps upload speed according to various speed test I have run - these aren’t very accurate- but it’s like bring at home. Very impressed. Way faster than at the start of the cruise. I will buy a full cruise package next time.

Pretty sure it is - saw the same guys that were doing the cabins - they said they would be doing antennas on the top deck.

Hi Selbourne - I believe so. They were doing something behind the TV and said they were doing every cabin. They are also fitting what look to be wireless transmitter/ receivers on the corridor ceilings by the cabins. Yesterday they were setting up the antennas on the top deck.

On Aurora the noo. starlink update: Found an engineer who knows what’s going on ! Reception and other crew don’t know anything. Modems / Routers being changed for starlink now - just done our cabin. Antennas on the top will be changed soon weather permitting. Engineer reckons less than 2 weeks to switch over. All great on Aurora - currently on route to Fuerteventura. currently using the WiFi ultimate package for the sea days when I need it. satisfactory in the cabin. Very good elsewhere. Over.

Yes - all Elon’s spaceX company but different launch systems for different purposes. The space-x “starship” is the one which auto destructed - it’s the prototype vehicle to carry people and cargo to orbit, the moon, mars. It was a successful test in that it got further than the previous ones. Nothing to do with starlink satellites. space-x “falcon” are the ones that launch the starlink satellites. to infinity and beyond !

That wasn’t a starlink rocket - it was spaceX and was an automated flight termination.

Yes correct - just get it for one device / person and both use it at different times. Make sure you log off on one device before using the other one.

Better seats go very quickly - especially on long haul. I thought that would be obvious.

They should have been kicked off the ship at the first available port and banned for life from P&O and prosecuted for hate crime. Zero tolerance with scum like that. Why should Gareth have had to move cabins ? Ridiculous. They should have been moved pending offload.

Very sad - sorry for your loss - must be terrible. There should be an exception made for bereavement - this is just not right.
