  1. Good Morning and thanks for all the information. I can appreciate root canals but will not celebrate them. And yes to celebrating the other 2 days. I am a George Carlin BIG fan - saw him live once and loved him. His take on the English language and the inconsistencies was so spot on. The meal looks good and after hearing what is in the drink - Green Chartreuse (my FAV digestif), I would definitely try it. Wine sounds interesting and never went to Phuket in all my trips to Thailand; seemed too much as a touristy/party place. I saw Cats in London when I went over to meet my parents in the 80s. (I then went to spend a month with them in Dubai). I loved it and I wish I still had the t-shirt I bought with the cat eyes on it. Lots of things on the agenda today so hopefully I will be able to get things done. I guess I glossed over the message about the Aurora B being prominent last night but being so far south, I probably just dismissed it. But one of my friends did catch it around sunset. I hope @MISTER 67 @StLouisCruisers and @Niagarawine have a great cruise. Hugs to @1ANGELCAT today. Thoughts for all of those on the care list and cheers to those celebrating. Have a good day everyone.
  2. Good early morning from AZ. Not a fan of Moscato but will celebrate the other 2 days. True quote, pass on all the food and drink and never been to Norway. Interesting day in history. Sunny day expected today with the temp reaching only mid 80s. So sad to hear about all the tornados and the damage/death they are causing. I am so glad I don't live in the part of the country. It has been a very stressful week and a half and I have been in a very discouraged mood. But I think it has all worked out and my surgery plan is set. I will stay overnight in the hospital in a short stay bed (we used to call those types of admits 2359s - less than 24 hours, so not a true admission). Food cooked and in the freezer, house 3/4 cleaned, will work on transportation to and from the hospital today and tomorrow, as I now know the plan. There is a 50% chance this surgery will not help the numbness and probably will not help the pain (which I have had for years) but it should help me walk further than a short distance. Surgery will be in my future most likely and it will be the very extensive one. But we might be able to delay it a tad with this surgery. Today and tomorrow I will sub at the high school for a friend/gym buddy (she does AP classes) and then I am done for this school year. I keep a spreadsheet on my subbing gigs and I subbed 75.5 times this year. Not too bad. I have been reading the daily but haven't had the energy to post. I hope everyone on the care list is doing well and cheers for those who are celebrating. Have a great day everyone.
  3. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Happy Teacher Appreciation Day to all teachers - past and present!! I think I will only acknowledge Cystinosis Awareness as I am not a fan of Cosmos or SB (except for cooking with it). I wish more people would take Lennon's words to heart. Pass on the drink and wine but the meal! I was interested in the "Everything Bagel" recipe and saved it. Never been to Kushiro and I don't think I could live without my computer. Beautiful day here today with the high getting near 90F. It is so sad to hear of the tornado damage in the middle of the county; I am deathly afraid of tornados. Sorry to hear of some of the challenges dailyites are going through. @kazu Jacqui, your foot problem does not sound good and I am glad you are getting all the medical attention. Thoughts for those who are having challenges and on the care list. Cheers for those celebrating. Have a good day everyone.
  4. Good morning and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I don't believe in diets so this is a great day to celebrate. I believe one can eat what they want - in moderation. I lost ~125# over 5 years with that mindset. The quote is very, very apropos for everyone to remember. Nice meal, pass on the drink and wine, and I have been to Bar Harbor twice - once when I drove over to have some lobster when living in NH and once on a BHB. Researched how much 60 guilders was back then; most places said 1 guilder= $10 in today's money. Hmmm. It will be cool here today with the high only getting up to ~80F under sunny skies. Lots of "homework" to do this week. Welcome home to those ending their cruises and thoughts for those on the care list. Cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day!
  5. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Cheers for firefighters and chickens but business brokers? Nay. I am not a fan of horse racing though on my trip last year across the country, we did stop off to see Churchill Downs. It was cool to see. Not a fan of the quote. Meal sounds interesting but pass on the rest. Never been to the port and Margaret Thatcher was such a trailblazer. A beautiful day is in store for us with the temps heading up to ~90F under sunny skies. It has been a whirlwind week and I am glad it is over. Some glitches arose that I was able to resolve satisfactorily. Sorry to hear of all the medical challenges this week and hope all is well for those. Cheers to those celebrating. Have a nice weekend.
  6. Good morning and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Three good days to celebrate. Too deep of a quote this early in the morning, pass on all the recipes and never been to Kochi. I remember the wall coming down. We will start to warm up today as I thought the weekend was a tad cool. Presently 54F heading up to high 80s with no rain in the forecast. Distressing to see the devastation in OK; I don't think I could live there as I am deathly afraid of tornados. Busy week ahead; I can't believe it is almost May. Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a good Monday.
  7. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. A nice way to start my day. It will be warmer today than yesterday. Presently 52F heading up to ~80F under - wait for it - sunny skies! LOL!! Birds are chirping away outside; I think they are complaining because their feeder is empty. 🥴 Three good days to celebrate, not sure I agree with the percentages on the quote, pass on all the food and drink, never been to Kobe, and I love red eye flights!! Was thinking about my plan on making a table top with my Delf tiles yesterday and came up with another idea. I have a hutch that needs to be refinished (which I plan on doing myself - maybe). It is very, very heavy so I don't move it frequently. The top is the part that needs refinishing the most and what if I used the tiles there? I think it would work. I will have to measure it and see if I can make it work. People have given me their tiles so I do have a good assortment. We will see. Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers for those celebrating. Have a good day everyone.
  8. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I appreciate the explanation about Devil Dogs as I went to look it up (the cake part) and saw they were a chocolate cake thingy sold by Drakes Cakes. No dog to pamper and yes, teach your children to save but not to the detriment of joy, IMHO. Good quote, the meal looks interesting, no to the drink (peach), maybe on the wine and never been to Greenland. Happy Kings Day! It sure got windy here yesterday and brought some cooler temps. To me it is cold at 57F right now and will only get up to low 70s. I may have to put on a sweater. Yesterday was a tough one physically but I got through it. Today might be a day of rest. I hope anyone who was in the path of the storms yesterday is safe and it sounds like there might be a repeat today. Stay safe! Thoughts for those on the care list. Cheers for those celebrating. Have a good day everyone.
  9. Happy Friday to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. Another beautiful day in the neighborhood with the temps heading to the low 80s with some expected wind in the early evening. I think we are done with winter and heading into summer quickly as all next week we will be in the mid 90s for the entire week. Love it! Two good days to celebrate and 1 somber day to remember. I chuckled at Mel's quote. The drink sounds interesting as well as the wine, never been to Hobart. I think I will try a version of the meal as I will have salmon again tonight. I did cook my version of the one pan salmon with fennel and couscous last night. I did make it a little more spicy than most people would like as I made a homemade harissa paste and homemade sun-dried tomato pesto and a olive-almond salsa. I thought it turned out good but needed something green 🥴. I will be at the high school today for one of the math teachers. It is spirit week and the final pep assembly is today with the theme of "Beach Day". It is also the last assembly for the principal who has finally decided to retire. The HS is his life so this will be a bitter sweet day. Condolences @RMLincoln and Happy Birthday @dfish (safe travels). Thoughts for those on the care list and cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone!
  10. Good morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet report. I went to the gym at 0530 and it was so nice outside at that time. Now it is 62F heading up to mid 70s under sunny skies, though wind is expected because a storm is passing north of us. Another beautiful day in the desert. I don't have a regular hairstylist as my hair is very short and I no longer color it. I didn't know about Elbe Day and I participate in "All of Us" national research program and I have some info from my DNA; it was very interesting. I disagree with the quote, meal sounds yummy, no on the drink and wine, and I have not been to Santorini. Cool about Waldseemüller. Yesterday's subbing gig was interesting. Got there and then there was lunch, then planning period and then 1 class. Easy but now I remember I didn't want to go back to that school. 😵‍💫 Subbing today for the art teacher at the HS for 4 hours and get paid for a full day. 👍 I am making a conscious effort to eat more fish so last night I made cod en papillote. Served it over couscous with slice tomato. I enjoyed it. Tonight I will try the salmon with pearl couscous recipe from a couple of days ago. Thoughts for those on the care list and good to hear good news on some who are having challenges. Cheers to those celebrating. Have a great day everyone.
  11. Oh, know that mall well as at one time I live close to it (and couldn't get out of the parking garage once!! LOL!! Long story). Ibn Battuta mall is more in the southern part of Dubai and has some great exhibitions about Ibn's explorations across the globe. 🙂
  12. @aliaschief Did you happen to go to Ibn Battuta Mall? It was my favorite one. And I see you were at the Marina. The architecture in Dubai is amazing IMO! Glad you had a good time there.
