  1. Just left Beyond yesterday. The ship was only half full. We ate about 8:00 / 8:30 ish, no booking required and no queuing. They try and seat you with the same team each visit (breakfast and dinner) subject to availability. However, we gather this week the ship is at full capacity with many family groups and at times queueing will be encountered at certain times up to 15 minutes. Incidentally, on shore days none of the MDRs or Blu are open for lunch.
  2. Hi, If you log in to the Celebrity web site you will see on the menu 'Manage my booking'. You can then see all the restaurants and also the prices for the speciality ones too. You can make reservations (except for Blu) on the site now if you wish. There's no charge for the MDR's i.e. Tuscan, Cosmo, Cyprus and Normandy. You say you're Aqua class so you can use the Blu restaurant at no extra charge; I think you book this one with your Concierge. Luminae is exclusive to suite / retreat cruisers. If you've got 'on board credit' you can use it towards the speciality restaurants when you've reserved them at the 'Checkout' page. Same goes for excursions, and other packages. I gather Eden is very popular so I'd book now if you want to go there. Worth a look at this before you pay any extra; Celebrity Beyond Food Review - Which Dining to Avoid & Must Try! - Bing video We're on Beyond in a couple of weeks 🥳. Kind Regards - Susan and Michael
  3. We sail soon too 🎉 You can find prices and details on Celebrity Web Site. Just log in and go to manage my booking and you may get discounted prices offered as I write. There are three packages; 1. Unlimited Digital Photo £64.82 (includes special 20% pre-cruise discount) 2. Photo Book £64.18 (includes special 20% pre-cruise discount) 3. Private Photo Shoot £243.33 (includes special 45% pre-cruise discount) I'll leave it to you to calculate to USD 🤔 Have a terrific cruise. Regards Susan & Michael
  4. It is a shame that they don't make such gestures. I very much doubt you'll be given anything that you've not ordered or paid for where Celebrity is concerned. Everything onboard has a price and they even sell celebratory 'packages' hence why give them to you when they can sell them you. If you're very lucky you might get an after dinner cake with your name on it. 🎂🥳 As they say; "You don't get owt for nowt"
  5. I read that there are two 'Chic' nights on a nine night cruise. Not sure how they work as the main restaurant is now four; Cosmo, Normandy, Tuscan and Cyprus. Then there's Blu and Luminae plus a handful of speciality ones. The other nights a 'Smart Casual'. Not sure if the Chic nights apply across all restaurants on the same night or different nights in different restaurants.
  6. Study the deck plans carefully before selecting for 'obstructions' and 'overhangs'. Some IVs have the bed near the bathroom and others right by the Veranda folding doors leaving a narrow gap of about 1ft or so between the bed and the door. The ones by the doors show a wall 'recess' by the IV and those by the bathroom the wall 'recess' nearer the bathroom. You'll see it on the plans when you look.
  7. I think the narrow double lines every so often between cabins is the ship infrastructure / framework. If you look at a photo of the side of the ship you'll see columns every dozen or so rooms especially aft. The white columns are the 'narrow lines".
  8. Oh dear, 'One Girl's' - doesn't look too inviting. Thanks for sharing. We were thinking of cancelling our reservation and that may have tipped the balance. We might stick to Blu and save our money. Regards
  9. Hi Lioness, We're booked for 9th July 22 and have opted for an A2 stateroom. We're not overly keen on the IV but it's not a show stopper for us. The 'balcony' does look like a smaller space and in those where the bed is veranda end then there's hardly any space between the bed and the folding doors. You'll see in the attached video. Here's a video of an Aqua Class IV - hope it helps. Interesting to know about the free upgrade from A2 to A1 - we've sailed with Celebrity before but they've not picked it up despite sending them details 4 weeks ago and 1 week ago. I think it's because we didn't register with the CC first time around. Regards Susan & Michael
  10. I was wondering - is the MC invasive when travels up and down? By invasive I mean can people on the MC see into your stateroom?
  11. Is this one to consider? Transfers from Marseille «Cruise» port to Aix-en-Provence (kiwitaxi.com) .
  12. Hi, we're there 3rd July so have done a bit of research. I gather that the cruise pier is some several kilometres to the west of Marseilles old harbour and that the norm is for the cruise company's to put on a coach alongside the pier to the old port. There is cost of around 15 Euros plus each which is a lot for a bus ride. If you look on google maps you'll see that the port authority put on a free shuttle (shows as 'Port Shuttle') - On maps google Marseilles Port Shuttle. This is FREE and I think it goes every 20 mins to the 'Old Cathedral' and back. The free port shuttle is a few hundred metres further on and you follow the path denoted by painted coloured line. If you're interested there's also hop on / off open top buses operating from the old port for About 15 - 20 euros that tour the main points in Marseilles.
