  1. I should have added I did NOT have a choice of cabins for purchasing so close to sailing date. First cruise was Deck 5 and 2nd cruise was on the Deck 8.
  2. I was able to get 2 cruises B2B for $400 each cruise as a solo in an interior cabin 7 days before sailing on NCL Sept. 2018. The solo fee was waived. For $800 BEFORE taxes/port fees/gratuities all alone in an interior cabin and I DID have to move from 1 cabin to another at the end of the first cruise ... but it was a FANTASTIC deal, cruise, and to this day I have a number of friends from this cruise. I would not have missed this for the world. NY to Canada to NY full 20 days onboard.
  3. Oh definitely! Transatlantic April - May 2019 on NCL Spirit. We were over 400 miles to any land ... rough seas so bad Captain locked the exit doors AND had to put guards on them. People were BIG time complaining because they couldn't go outside on the slick, slipper wet decks!!!! I said ... What if you broke a leg?? The woman said "SOooo airlift me to a hospital ... I'm insured for that"!!! Uhm ... WHAT aircraft/helicopter do you know that can make an approx. 900 roundtrip without fueling up???? Huh??? Seriously people it is for your own good!!! SMH
  4. I don't know how long a ship goes in for overhaul. It was just a suggestion.
  5. Maybe it was scheduled for dry dock - maintenance and upgrades.
  6. Read what is actually offered in the drink package. The alcoholic drink package on NCL - I know - DIFFERENT cruise line - but as an example - you can get bottled water, special coffees and alcoholic and virgin bar drinks on their drink package. With everything that is offered in the package ... it can be $$ saving.
  7. Ive sailed Carnival some and more with NCL. Food on NCL is HORRIBLE. Carnival has GREAT food. I haven't seen a lot of shows on Carnival. I cruise Carnival for the piano bar. NCL has AMAZING shows. Just Broadway quality. Carnival is more affordable for: Cruise cost, excursions, and drink package.
  8. My 'opinion' is: Drink package is worth it. You can get special coffees, bottled water, and alcoholic drinks. Carnival has one of the LEAST expensive drink packages out there. Excursions - first cruise - Again, I would use Carnival's excursions. They, again, are some of the CHEAPEST excursion prices out there. NCL for both above mentioned items are insanely expensive. Cruise excursions - You will ALWAYS make it back to the ship. Private Excursions - You 'MAY NOT' make it back to the ship in time for departure. FYI ... Traffic delays. Cars break down/flat ties, etc. There's no AAA out of the country.
