  1. I think much more. Recently saw $7000 one way per person for business. I’d keep on checking but when it starts that high I can’t believe it will become reasonable. See lots of people who say they booked themselves. If someone knows where I can get cheaper fights let me know.
  2. Just another example of how SM and summer sale works out to be better pricing than booking the we made February 2023 for cruise on Vista August 2024. Since we booked pretty early and got free 20th anniversary $600 ship board credits we got a pretty good deal. Under SM and summer sale the cabin costs were about the same. We lose our anniversary ship board credits but get $800 excursion credits to make up for that. We now have the beer and wine package and an extra free WiFi. The big savings is now we get air included that we excluded from the original booking. Although we will be upgrading to business class, I calculated that this saves us $1500 per person over what business class would have cost us before. Just my savings. As stated everyone needs do their own math but if you get both SM and summer savings it probably will be a savings.
  3. Thanks. Looking forward to it.
  4. Will be on Oceania Vista August 2024. Oceania offers a tour called Rome on your own that will take you via bus to and from Rome where you will be on your own. If you have taken this Oceania bus, when did it leave port and arrive in Rome. Our ship is scheduled to dock at 7AM. We would like to make a 9:30 Am tour. Let me know and if you have any other suggestions to get to Rome and back.
  5. Want to take Oceania bus to Rome from Civitavecchia. Tour is called Rome on your own. Plan to take private tour in Rome that starts at 9:30 AM. Ship is scheduled to dock at 7AM. Has anyone taken this bus and if so what time does it leave port and arrive in Rome? What time does the return bus leave Rome and get back to the ship. Will be on Vista and Rome port is August 22, 2024. Also if you have any other suggestions on getting to Rome on time and back in the afternoon please reply.
  6. Have you taken a golf cart tour in Rome? What was your review and what company did you use? I’ve booked one with “tours by locals”. Since then I have seen many others with better pricing so reconsidering my choice. Is “tours by locals”worth the extra price?
  7. Has anyone used the site CivitavecchiaPort.org for a taxi to Rome? Rates are reasonable and they also offer you the opportunity to have the driver give you a 2 or 4 hour highlight tour of Rome. Again their charge for this is very reasonable. If you used them to either take you to Rome and back to port or had them give you a guided tour while in Rome I’d love to hear your thoughts.
  8. Any recommendations of a guide that will pick you up at the port and give you a guided tour of Rome for the day and then return to port? Lots of tours from port but drivers are not guides for different attractions. Would prefer a combination driver/guide for 3 people. Would I be better off if we took transfer from port to Rome and then hire a guide for Rome attractions?
  9. So as recommended I went to a similar cruise to where I am going but is sailing in less than 365 days so the excursions and pricing is listed. There are 3 prices for each excursion. Either “tour price”, “your world”, “unlimited”. Can someone explain what these mean. We have not taken any free excursions with Olife but do have a good amount of ship board credits. Are there packages that offer you a discount and if so how do I obtain those? Thanks for any help.
  10. Looking for private guides with a car for tours in the following areas. Cephalonia (Argostoli) Greece Civitavecchia (Rome) Italy. Not Rome itself but countryside in close proximity to port. We are just 3 adults. If you have recommendations and contact info they would be appreciated.
  11. My Oceania rep told me that the most current list of shore excursions and pricing will be posted the same day as you when you can sign up (365 days before embarkation). So how do you plan and budget in advance of sign up day so you are ready to select your shore excursions on 1st day to sign up? What has been previous cruisers ability to get the excursions they want?
  12. Taking cruise August 2024. I know we can pick our shore excursions 365 days before embarkation but are the excursions that the website currently lists the final list. When will the prices be listed? What discounts or packages do the offer if you book your excursions in advance?
  13. When can you book culinary classes. Utube of Vista culinary classes mentions that some of the classes involve an excursion to buy ingredients then bring back to class to prepare menu. Has anyone done this.
  14. After seeing pictures, videos, and posts of connecting cabins on the Vista it appears that the door connecting the rooms is where previously was a full length mirror. One post states that there was no replacement for the mirror. This seems like a bad decision on Oceania’s part. Can anyone confirm that they have not replaced the mirror.
  15. That seems ridiculous that Oceania couldn’t find someplace else to put a full length mirror. Maybe on the inside of the closet door. I think that may be a game changer for anyone like me who are considering connecting cabins for our family. If anyone from Oceania is watching these posts they sure should try to correct not having a full length mirror in these connecting cabins.
  16. I have on board credits for an upcoming cruise that were given by our travel agent. Our list of “experiences” excursions and prices has come out. I would like to use the credits to prebook and pay for some excursions. Has anyone tried or done this. Hopefully I don’t have to wait to board the ship to sign up for excursions using my on board credits since they then might be sold out.
  17. I finally saw pictures of where the door is that connect 2 cabins on the Vista. For cabins below penthouse category the door is in the hall opposite the bathroom. In the penthouse the door is between the 2 closets that the penthouse has. The door is where the full length mirror would normally be. Does anyone know where did they then put the full length mirror?
  18. So for anyone who has split the cost of a couple and paid each persons bill with a different credit card to get double the coverage. Is that how it is done or do you pay half the total bill on one card and the balance on a different card?
  19. Thank you to those that have responded to my post. We do have $10,000 per person coverage by our credit card. We have decided that hopefully either we will not need it we will cover the difference ourselves. Some responders said that they also counted on the coverage that their credit card provided. My follow up question is p, did any of those that depended on credit card coverage need to make a claim? If so what was your experience?
  20. Has anyone unfortunately had the necessity to need to cancel a cruise do to illness and then make a claim against your credit card or Regent trip cancellation insurance. What has been your experience with either or both? Thank you
  21. We are sailing on the Vista summer 2024. We have booked 2 adjacent cabins that have a connecting door. Now that the Vista is sailing I ask anyone that will stay in a connecting cabin to describe where the connecting door is and does it require rearrangement of the furniture? Also on your cruise did they permit you to open the door between the 2 verandas. Pictures would be nice. Thank you in advance for your response.
