  1. We had friends who did nothing but cruise and they tried to get us to try it several times and we were not interested in the least. Then our son and his then girlfriend (now wife) dragged us kicking and screaming on our first cruise in 2005 - a 5 night cruise to "try it out" on RCC Voyager of the Seas - we absolutely loved it and have been hooked ever since! No vacation compares....

  2. You are welcome :)

I think you should be able to get a chair if you ask. If not the stool could be put next to the wall for back support. The stool has a wood top that lifts off and there is a cushion under it to sit on. You can see it in the second photo under the desk with the towels on it.

We really liked the cabin. Being mid ship and on a lower deck was nice on the rough sea day going south. Upper decks were rocking and rolling and deck 5 was very calm.

    Good to know! Thanks again!!

  3. Around 8:00 this morning when I saw the email I immediately got online and did a courtesy booking while I called my Personal Cruise Consultant because I knew once everyone saw this sale they would be overwhelmed. He called me back almost 90 minutes later and we completed our booking for the Breakaway in March. I almost booked it a few days ago but hesitated and by doing so, saved over a thousand dollars! :D

I'm sure the website is having a hard time keeping up with all this!

  4. For this particular June 27 sailing the 3rd and 4th person rate is $849 per person plus taxes & fees, regardless of the cabin category.

Perhaps you should look into sailing off season when the 3rd & 4th person rates are cheaper.

Our wedding anniversary is in Aug but the cruise prices are too high so we tend to celebrate them in Oct ....

We always cruise in the fall. Our anniversary is in March but we have a son who is a teacher and a daughter-in-law in nursing school so the only time we can all go together is the summer. So I guess that means we are have to pay the price or find something else to do. I do have an email into our guy at NCL to confirm the pricing.

    Thanks for all your comments.

  5. OP is looking to book a 4th of July cruise specifically. Chances of kids sail free is slim. Schools out!

We would return on the 4th of July...

I never cruised with children before and am shocked that they charge that much, especially under 2 years old! For what this cruise would cost for the 6 adults and 2 babies, we could probably spend a week at Disney World on property, park tickets, meal plan AND airfare from the northeast.

Cruising has become our favorite vacation. This was to be our 40th wedding anniversary trip with our entire family, now we have to review other options.

    :(

  6. We are looking at booking an anniversary cruise with our grown children and grandchildren. We have 18 month old twin grandchildren...I have looked around and can not find how much they charge for toddlers?! There would be 6 adults and the two babies...

  7. After 2 emails to Carnival Comfort Collections about returning my sheets went unanswered, I called the customer service line. Within 2 minutes I had a credit for $79.99 issued back to my Visa card and did not have to return the sheets! They have no use for used sheets, he said...no need to return them... they must be defective. Now THAT is what I call excellent customer service!

  8. We LOVED the sheets and pillows on our Carnival cruises. So I bought 2 pillows and a queen size sheet set (79.95 for the sheets) - I like the pillows, my husband says they are NOT the same as onboard. I HATE the sheets!!!!! Such a disappointment! They are no where near the softness or quality of what we experienced onboard. After a week of wear they are already showing signs of pilling (is that the word for little bumps all over it?!). If I bought them at any local store I would return them. I have emailed the website twice this week and they have yet to respond.

  9. Our first oceanview was on Splendor the first week of October - we loved it.. Of course we had cabin 2470 which was HUGE! 2 windows...loved loved loved it. Didn't mind being on deck 2 aft at all...straight ride up the elevator to the Lido deck. I would do oceanview in a heartbeat, especially during the winter months out of NYC!

  10. :p Wow! I feel lucky that I have one of those "secret rooms" tomorrow! It was on the website when I started looking just a few months ago.

We've never had a ocean view cabin before (5 balconies, 2 insides) so this is a test to see how much I'll miss my balcony!!!

The cabins you mention happen to sell out quickly. They are sought after "secret rooms" They are much larger than the normal oceanview cabin, about 2 the size and odd shaped. They are under the dinning room, but the dinning room is carpeted, there will be minimal noise from that after late seating dinning. There may/will be some noise from the thrusters pulling into and out of port if you dock early in the am. There is far less foot traffic back there so all in all relatively quiet.

We have 2 of them booked for our upcoming cruise.

Cabins 2470 and 2473 have 2 large windows for sure. Not exactly sure about 2474 or 2477. they will have a couch also.

Cabins 2462 and 2465 are also odd shaped cabins which will have 2 large windows each but no couch. These used to be 1A cabins which were a great deal for travelling solo. Now they have been redone and are all 6B.

If you are travelling solo, the cabins you mention would be quite huge, do you really need all that space? The ocean view rooms are larger than the balcony cabins, because where the balcony would be is cabin space an extra 35 sq ft for a total of 220sq feet cabin space, where a balcony cabin is 185 sq ft with 35 sq ft deck space.

Hope this helps. Usually these rooms do not show up online, you have to call and request them if available.
