  1. Where in your personalizer does that show up? Thanks for the assistance!
  2. I've heard mixed things about getting a credit card charge reversed - I had asked that about reserving specialty dining ahead of time . . . the answer seemed to be that if I pay via credit card, they would credit it as OBC once on board. Since I have enough OBC at the moment (ha!), I didn't want more.
  3. I booked my cruise with the Plus package ($60 version). I have quite a bit of OBC, and was curious, can I use the OBC to upgrade from the Plus package to Premium when I board? Thank you!
  4. Oh I don't know about the younger bit - but I do understand about the gaining weight part! I'm long past my days of eating all I want without gaining weight, but I've never lost my love of trying new food and new experiences! Both the Chef's Table and the Wine Makers Dinner sound like fun!
  5. Thank you! I am very excited for this first-time cruise! And I love good food, so I am trying to figure out the best way to participate in the Chef's Table and/or Wine Makers Dinner . . .
  6. Related question – I’ve read about the Winemakers Dinner/ Wine Dinner (and people have just mentioned it here) – do they do this on all cruises/ships? How does one sign up for that? Is it a similar process to the Chef’s Table and is it by invitation?
  7. For longer cruises (mine is 23 days on the Royal), do you know if Princess offers the Chef’s Table/Chef’s Table Lumiere more than once if there are enough people interested? My understanding is that in recent years (post-Covid), priority for the Chef's Table is offered to those with elite status, suites, etc. – although I’ve also read that is not the case. 🤷‍♀️ I’ve also read that it is best to go to guest services, the maître d/head waiter, or the house phone and dial dining services to get on this list. As a lowly first-time cruiser, I am wondering if I even have a chance to participate, and how best to get on the list ASAP!
  8. Thank you! And yes, I did read/skim them all! LOL - over the course of a few days, that is! What are your thoughts about the aft MDR - Allegro? Mobility is not an issue for me, so I was trying to figure out if it would be a better option for anytime dining.
  9. Hi all! I have two questions regarding dining. I read through this topic - and I am not sure if I missed them or not - but I didn't see the answers to my questions. I am a first-time cruiser (ever) - so no Platinum or Elite status, and my cruise is now paid in full. I will be on the Royal on a 23-day transpacific - so lots of sea days. On the app, I can only reserve the Concerto and Allegro MDRs (so I assume Symphony is the MDR for club class). First, I've been told that most folks prefer the Concerto dining room over Allegro since Concerto is easier to get to and Allegro is the aft MDR and is only serviced by stairs and the aft elevators. Does that mean it might be easier/faster to get seated in Allegro if I choose anytime dining and do not reserve a spot ahead of time? Other than location and ease of access, does anyone have a preference for one more than the other? Second, my understanding is that if I reserve specialty dining ahead of my cruise, Princess will charge my credit card. I have quite a bit of OBC from the booking deal I received, and I have gift cards that I understand I can apply as more OBC once I am on board. Is there any way to have guest services or Princess reimburse my credit card with the OBC/gift card funds so that essentially OBC/gift card funds are paying for the specialty dining? Or does anyone know of a way to use OBC or gift cards to reserve specialty dining before the cruise starts? I would like to reserve specialty dining ahead of time, but don't really want to pay for them since I will have enough OBC and gift card funds to do that. Thank you for your help!
  10. I am traveling on the Royal Princess from Vancouver to Auckland on September 25. Anyone else on that one? Like others here, I am not naturally inclined to cruise, but needed a long break with lots of down time.
