Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Do Saga ships have many tables for two in their dining areas including the buffet? Are you given a set table in the main dining room. What's the chance of a table for two in there?
  2. Just returned from an excellent cruise on the Arcadia. Our first priority is a quiet cabin; there's no point if everything else is fine if you're then disturbed every night or during the day when you want to have a rest. Due to its unusual configuration there was no noise from the adjoining cabins apart from a two second, faint mechanical noise from the next door cabin toilet whenever it was flushed; a noise hardly noticeable and masked by the air conditioning in our room. The lack of noise wasn't solely due to the quietness or otherwise of the neighbours( a couple of women), but the extra layer of the noise insulation provided by the cupboards and bathroom in the adjacent cabins. Without going into too much detail how I did sound tests to check what it would be like if there was a lot of noise emanating from from the adjoining cabins, I was satisfied that even if our neighbours were persistent coughers, watched their TV at full volume, or talked loudly, then the noise insulation would mask the sound. Couldn't find anything else to complain about on the cruise- probably our best ever. I'm not disclosing which cabin it was, we would like to book it next time so we wouldn't want to advertise its number.
  3. Anyone stayed in this cabin? What were the noise levels like?
  4. After initially having problems getting thru to Cruise Connect they finally answered the phone within a couple of minutes waiting and dealt with the booking straightaway. We've now received the email with pick-up time and final travel voucher, 17 days before the cruise date.
  5. When you say you emailed, did you fill in the online form on their website, or email them direct? If the latter, what is their email?
  6. When you say you emailed, did you fill in the online form on their website, or email them direct? If the latter, what is their email?
  7. Thanks Thought as much. The P and O information is incorrect then. How about paying the £226 and then speaking to your cruise provider and asking them to reimburse you, and sort it out with Cruise Connect themselves?
  8. According to P and O, ''If you have complimentary coach travel as part of your Select Price fare benefit, you can book your space via the Cruise Connect website. If you go onto the website, and press the tab 'Book Online', and input your information, when you press the green button 'show price' this should be listed as £0 and reserve your space. Coach booking's need to be made 35 days prior to departure date.'' If that's the case then there's no need to phone and add to the volume of calls.
  9. Excellent. As I stated before, wait on the phone until the email confirmation comes thru before leaving the phone conversation. Unless you have some sort of complicated email situation like yours then generally the email comes thru straightaway.
  10. Thanks for letting us know. I can see the reason why you didn't get your original e mail confirmation; the one thing they automatically do when you first book the coach. Your mother's misspelt name shouldn't be a problem at all. I seem to recall they don't actually bother checking the e voucher; they simply ask for your names then check them off on their list. Enjoy your cruise!
  11. Out of interest, when you finally got thru, how long were you kept waiting? After several failed attempts at the beginning of May they picked up the phone in about two minutes and confirmed the booking with an email straightaway. My tip would be: don't put the phone down before receiving the confirmation email and checking it's correct. I did that in case there were any problems with the email confirmation. Incidentally we booked another coach with them in April and got thru straightaway.
