  1. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The error has been fixed. Good luck!

Well now the entire Celebrity website is ''under construction'' and not functioning.

My last checkin took three days and a call to Celebrity. Luggage tags have still not arrived after two requests.

I'm about done trying to do what should be easy, routine tasks on their website and will find a company who can service its customers needs.

  2. For those that were wondering, I just got information that the Summit will be going into drydock from Feb. 27 thru March 12, 2016. About six months prior to that time, they'll release what exactly will be done. :)

May I ask where you got that info? I cannot find anything about a dry dock. thx, we are on Summit in the fall of 2016 so I am interested in what will be done.

  3. I would still take the tour even if the forts are closed. We've done it twice and had a great time. The first time several years ago Jose (the owner, I think) gave good training on using the Segway and an interesting tour.

In December, Jorge was our guide and he was very knowledgeable in Puerto Rican history and had some interesting cultural insights. The sun set while we were out on the tour and San Juan was beautiful after dark.

    Highly recommend the Segway tour!

  4. Squidward - I just received an email from rfamily today. It includes info on 3 cruises:

  5. Gilbo, I don't know myself - but I'd suggest you look at the Florida Departures board. I've noticed similar questions on there.

We will be sailing from Miami for the first time in a few weeks on Celebrity Reflection. Getting excited now!

  6. I had a different problem with a Ft. Lauderdale cab a couple of years ago. We took a cab from FLL to the Renaissance Hotel near the cruise port.

When we got to the hotel, I swiped my credit card through the reader and the driver said "no, no - you can't use that, it doesn't work". So, I paid in cash.

Well, of course, my credit card showed the charge when I got the bill. Not much $ but I hate being taken advantage of. I'll only pay cash now.

  7. Michael's Club has a really nice selection of beers. There are many different types available.

The classic beverage package can be upgraded to the premium package for $11.50 per person per day and will cover most all of the beers (except for a few high end or large bottles).

  8. kitkat - thanks for the follow-up response. I agree that PL's response was odd since you were suggesting that they re-evaluate the star level of the property, not asking for compensation.

The reason I had asked about you providing feedback to PL was over the same concern. They need to maintain the integrity of the ratings if we are to have confidence enough to use the blind bidding.

We also use PL regularly with mostly favorable experiences. (OT: for example, this past weekend we stayed at the Omni Shoreham in DC for $85/nt. This is an historic hotel, nicely maintained and the accommodations and service were definitely 4*).

For our upcoming cruise from Fort Lauderdale, I had tried to use Priceline for DT and beach unsuccessfully. I ended up reserving the Renaissance in order to have a known location.

  9. I love the "Tales of the City" series by Armistead Maupin. The first three are available in an anthology the includes "Tales of the City", "More Tales" and "Further Tales".

As you may know, they are set in SF and tell the intertwined story of the fascinating characters. These are set in the late 70's - early 80's and were originally serialized in the SF Chronicle.

  10. They provided tastes of tamarind and sugar cane along the way with fruit and water at the fort. At the finish, there's your choice of beer or soft drink. It was a totally fun outing.

Thanks for posting princessmargaret. I am from PA also and am really ready for a break from the cold and snow!!!

I just (today, in fact) reserved the Antigua Segway tour for the first week of March and we are really looking forward to it. We did the Segways in San Juan last year and had a ball!

Couple of questions if you don't mind.....I noticed that you said you had the choice of beer or soft drink. Did you have to book the package with the lunch or are the beverages included in the regular tour?

Also, did you have the Segway people arrange for your transportation back and forth or arrange you own? Anything helpful you can post about the transportation would be appreciated!
