  1. Am going on a cruise in the first week of September with my 8 month old. What queries do you have?
  2. Can we carry bottled water to MSC Seascape for infant formula?
  3. So there are food counters in the OL, but no bar? What would be the closest bar to OB?
  4. Is insurance mandatory? If I am going to use my credit card insurance, what do I show?
  5. Drink package is $109 per day PER PERSON + Gratuities (20%) = $109 + 21.80 (20% of $109) PER PERSON. For 10 days it is $1090 + $218 (gratuities). As part of FAS, you only pay the gratuities.
  6. I have looked at the menus. Actually, we got the packages as part of FAS for 1 room (just paying gratuities seemed worth). The other room we got was on a fare which did not allow FAS. Also, we are going just for the experience and to try something new, since we have a 15 night cruise, and might get bored of MDR. We are vegetarians, and 90% of the menu would be out of bounds. Hence thinking to order just a couple of items in ala carte, for the people who are not on package, if it is allowed.
  7. Do NCL specialty dining package go down in price at any point? Currently am seeing the 2 meal package at 118 per person. Also, is it possible for 4 people to go for specialty dining, when 2 of them are on package, and the other 2 are doing ala carte?
  8. Do FAS prices drop? Aren't we only paying gratuities in FAS package? How does it change then?
  9. Are all bars included in the FAS drinks package? What about the drinks you order at specialty restaurants? Also, when the ship is in port, and you drink with your FAS package, do you have to pay taxes? Any difference in US ports or Foreign ports in this regard?
  10. Hey, how was your experience? Which restaurants and vegetarian food did you try? Any recommendations? Also, how was your experience with the special diets coordinator? Did it make a difference?
  11. Can you cancel or change the specialty dining reservations you book well in advance? Are infants allowed in specialty dining restaurants?
  12. Can we get shareholder OBC if the second person on the booking is the shareholder? Also, does it matter if the first and second person are citizens and residents of different countries? Also, do you get shareholder OBC if you book through a TA? Who do you submit your holding statement to - TA or NCL directly?
  13. If a TA is giving you OBC, would it be refundable or non-refundable? How do you get refundable OBC?
  14. Do the taxi's fare by meter or you have to haggle?
  15. First time cruiser here. Not asking for TA recommendations, just checking how it works. I understand the process I can fill a form to transfer to TA. I have a question on how the deposits and outstanding work: If NCL website shows $100 total for a cruise, and I book with them and pay a deposit of $10. Now, lets say TA is showing $105 for the same cruise, but with an OBC of $15, what happens if I transfer my booking from NCL to TA? Do I lose my $10 deposit? How much do I pay to TA for this booking? How much OBC will TA give to me? What happens if I used a cruisefirst certificate while booking with NCL? Does it get void during this process?
  16. Is it worth doing a cruise of Panama Canal specifically, if your cruise is going through new locks?
  17. Hi, am a first time cruiser and traveling from outside US to take one of the cruises from the attached image. Which would be a better itinerary in terms of weather, and port timings? The ship is Norwegian Bliss, and we are 2 seniors, 2 adults, and 1 infant. Would it be colder in December compared to November, to enjoy the pool on ship or the beaches and places at ports? Also, December itinerary has an additional port stop at Mazlatan, Mexico. Is it worth to choose this, over supposedly warmer weather in November? What would you choose and why?
  18. Are there phones in the general areas of the ship to call rooms?
  19. Am fine with not having it. It includes drinks/speciality dining and internet, right? Dont have much use for this, and the gratuities itself would be not worth it in our case (since we hardly drink, have dietary preferences which would make speciality dining difficult, and slow internet is stressful rather than helpful).
  20. Hi, am booking a cruise for the first time and the fares on NCL sail away category Mini-Suite (Club Balcony Suite) are quite enticing. We are traveling with parents and an infant (total 5 people - 4 adults, 1 infant) and looking to book 2 rooms. I understand that the sail away category doesnt allow room selection and it will be assigned by NCL. If the rooms allocated are far away or on different decks, is it possible to request the cruise line to provide them together? Do they help in this? Also, when do they assign the rooms? Months in advance or just before sailing? Any experiences regular cruisers can share?
  21. Do you earn latitude points if you book through TA? Also, if am booking a sail away guarantee cabin, would I get a better cabin if I book with TA or NCL or it doesn't matter?
