What are these generally like and does it differ from ship to ship? If they take place on the lido/pool deck, do people jump in the pool with their clothes on?!

Hello, Can I ask anyone out there if they have ever visited these 2 ports on a P&O ship and if so, been on one of the P&O shore experiences that were on offer when visiting? I'm booked to go next April and have been perusing the shore experiences available at these destinations but have a few specific enquiries about a couple of them.

I see your point but I've always done shore excursions for all the ports I've visited during the previous cruises I have been on. Never having been to these places before and not really having the confidence to make my way around foreign cities on my own (I'm a solo traveller), I've found guided tours to be the best way to get to see and make the most of the locations in the limited time you have there. Therefore that's why I was making enquiries about the shore excursions for this cruise I am going on next year.

Sorry, that wasn't quite what I meant! I'm trying to get a better understanding of what the available shore excursions have to offer so I can pick the best one that shows you as much of the city as possible. For example, the 'Leisurely La Coruna' excursion. This sounds quite thorough but appears to all take place on a coach and I don't know if I want to see the city from a coach window as it goes by! If it also included a guided walking tour of a part of the city, this would be a lot better but the description doesn't really say that! So that's why I wanted to ask on here to see if anyone had the experience of doing them before?

Hi folks, Ok, so I'm booked to go on a cruise next year which visits La Coruna, Bilbao and Gijon. If anyone else has ever been on this cruise previously then I wondered if I could reach out to them for their advice regarding information on the shore excursions on offer for each of the ports we will be visiting as the descriptions on the P&O website don't really go into much detail!

Is that a 'sloping' window?

Can I also ask you Dermotsgirl if you felt much movement in cabin D174 when the ship was in motion as it's in the mid-forward section of the ship I understand?

Thank you Dermotsgirl. Feel a little bit more reassured now! Can you remember if it's actually a reasonably sized window and also a reasonably sized cabin? I've only previously stayed in balcony cabins but am on a rather smaller budget this time so a sea view cabin is going to be a new experience for me!

I've just booked a cruise on the Aurora and have opted for a sea view cabin (D174). Apparently it has a sloping window and I'm a little concerned that this may therefore cause some kind of restricted view? If anyone has stayed in a similar cabin can they reassure me that this is not the case and that I've made a good choice with my cabin number!!

Hello everyone. I'm thinking of going on a P&O cruise to Spain next year. My dilemma is that it sails at the end of April and arrives in Bilbao on the 1st May. With this being the May Day Bank holiday, I'm concerned that a lot of places in the city will be closed as well as any shore excursions that are offered are going to be very limited. Therefore, I'm reaching out to any experienced cruisers out there who have happened to have been on cruises which have docked in cities (Bilbao in particular) during a Bank holiday. Are various places closed, including tourist attractions? And are you limited to what shore excursions you can do? Many thanks for any help and advice that can be given to me.
