  1. I'm Irish (born and bred, not hyphenated),grew up in inner Dublin and worked at St. James' Gate as a student and I've never heard of 'Guiness Day'. Sounds like one of those made up American 'holidays'.
  2. Hope it's ok to resurrect this post! I'm considering a cruise on a motor yacht this summer, travelling as a solo. I've sailed once before solo but on a large ship where I was fairly invisible, which is just how I like it! I like being around people but I'm quite (ok, very!) introverted and don't feel terribly comfortable with someone randomly striking up a conversation or, worse still, feeling sorry for me and trying to take me under their wing! I had one experience of this on my last cruise (Princess) where a lady at the table next to me just launched into a conversation at dinner time without so much as an introduction and it kind of ruined the whole meal for me. I know you're probably thinking 'why does he go on a cruise then?!', but I really just enjoy being on the sea reading books and having quiet meals. So my question is... will I stick out like a sore thumb on WS if I just bimble along doing my own thing?
  3. just off Enchanted and yeah, I was a little scared of her! I suspect it's her first job on a ship and she's realised it's just not for her. She did let people with plus or premier have two scoops of whatever flavour they wanted (as well as other staff that helped out at busy times), so I'm guessing this is an unannounced new policy.
  4. I'm currently on Enchanted (lovely ship!) and am a bit perplexed by the internet. I was excited to be using Starlink for the first time, but thus far it's been disappointing. Since leaving Barcelona on Sunday I've been getting nothing faster that c. 2.8mbs download speed on both my devices (iPhone, and MacBook Air). The strange thing is, when I logged onto a desktop in the onboard internet cafe and did a speed test I was getting over 40mbs. I asked the person at the help desk and tbh, I don't think he has any specific IT training. He (very politely) fobbed me off and said they'd 'look into it' and contact me if they had a solution. Two days later and I've not heard anything. Any ideas what the issue could be? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
