Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Interesting update. Issue #3 has been fixed. Apparently some backend system wasn't talking to each other correctly. I guess when I purchased the Premier Package on the App, that info didn't get passed on to update the cruise fare, so it was registered as a payment to the original cruise fare. I don't know, whatever the agent said just seemed like technical mumbo jumbo. Anyway, fare is updated properly so I can pay the actual amount due, not something lower and risk the reservation to be cancelled. Anyway, glad this is fixed. Can totally see why there are threads here telling people to check their folios and other things. Princess doesn't seem to have some good back end systems. Premier package is still fine on my account according to the agent. Still don't know why it is much lower than it should be.. but I'll take it.
  2. Ah that makes sense. It's all good. We can make it up on board as you said. Thanks for the info, really helpful! Puts me at ease for this one.
  3. First time booking Princess in a while. Sailed with other companies more so than Princess. I'm finding that Princess has the most unclear and confusing payment process. It's all coming in my favor, so can't complain about that, but then I worry that I step on board and then hit with new charges, or maybe my reservation is cancelled because of a missed payment. Issue #1: Booking. There was an odd reduction in the fare. Before checkout said the cruise fare was $5000. After checkout and putting the deposit.. the fare was $4000 (not net of deposit). Great surprise. Called Princess to confirm the reservation and prices... they said, everything is fine. So, great, worked in my favor. Appreciate the discount without knowing. Just super odd that the overall fare was changed after paying the deposit. Issue #2: So I add in Premier after the fact. Should be $1120. $80 times 7 days times 2 people. I get charged like $800. Checked travel summary.. all the Premier items are listed. Called Princess, as I'm worried that I would get with the remainder later.. they said everything is fine. I don't owe anymore.. Not sure why they charged me lower. Issue #3: Now, I'm about to make full payment. I looked and instead of paying the remaining amount... they subtracted the $800 I paid for premier from what I owe to pay off the cruise. Now I'm super worried because this feels like an underpayment. If I pay off the remainder based on what they say I owe which is $800 less, then I worry that later on they will cancel my reservation saying that I didn't pay in full. Issue #4: I add in specialty dining for 4 people, and my charge is zero. Should be charged for 2 people. This is probably a dream for many people here, that this is all working in my favor.. but I'm super worried that this is all an issue with Princess and I may end up getting this cruise cancelled inadvertently or getting charged later on for all of these strange billing amounts. Anyone seen this happen before?
  4. Booking things on the princess app has been so glitchy for me. Can't seem to tell if I'm going to get charged for something or not. Another example here where I was going to reserve crown grill. I have Premier. Before I hit "Reserve" with credit card inputted it shows: Cover Charge Adult x 3 = $135 Total: $0.00 So are they going to charge me zero? or $135. I assume $135, but you figure the total would show $135 instead of zero. Should really be $45 because I have Premier. So wacky.
  5. If you know you are going to get Plus/Premier, then book it early if some of these conditions exist for you: 1) You are getting a discount for Plus/Premier. Some fares can have a discount on these packages, if so, just book it in advance. Would be some of the lucky few that are getting a discounted rate. I don't know if you would get the discounted rate if you book it onboard, never tried that before. 2) If it adds to a rebate or on board credit you will get since you are increasing the total fare 3) You aren't going to us on board credit to pay for this 4) If you don't have to factor in Travel Insurance costs 5) If for some remote reason it is sold out I usually do it for #1 if I'm lucky and got a booking with some discount for the packages that I add on later. Does not happen alot.
  6. https://montenegrobusiness.eu/montenegro-business-recent-sun-princes-mega-cruise-ship-port-of-bar-tourism/ Jovan Moric from Boka Adriatica, noted that the Sun Princess... has eight planned visits to Bar. Boka Adriatica supports port operations in Montenegro. So good assumption that they would know what the future is for Cruise ships. Sun Princess was scheduled to sail to Kotor 8 times from April to September during it's Mediterranean season. May, June itineraries have already been updated to Bar. July, August, September itineraries still say Kotor, however, given the above statement, feels almost certain it's going to change to Bar. If you are sailing July-September with non refundable port excursions made (outside of Princess) in Kotor, you could look into getting travel insurance that covers for these in the event of port changes made after your purchase of travel insurance. Once you get an email from Princess saying that the itinerary has changed to Bar, then purchasing this insurance afterwards won't work. Some of these are expensive and don't reimburse you much, so do the math if it works for you.
  7. May through June sailings have been updated to Bar. Can see that when you try to book. The map still shows Kotor, but below that the itinerary shows Bar. July and after cruises still show Kotor in the itinerary. But now, would not be surprised if these get updated to Bar. Payment due date should be coming up for August sailings and after. If there are any changes to Bar, I’d assume Princess would make them after payment due date has passed.
  8. Don't know why it posted twice for me.. but interesting that this starts in October for Sun Princess. I guess no impact to current sailings until October?
  9. Sanctuary Collection staterooms and experience will debut in October of 2024 on Sun Princess(R) and on her sister ship, Star Princess(R) when she enters service in 2025. Sanctuary Collection staterooms on Sun Princess and Star Princess go on sale April 23 for sailings after October 14, 2024 beginning in the Caribbean season on Sun Princess and at launch on Star Princess in Fall of 2025.

  11. Signature Suites are still called Signature Suites... not Sanctuary Suites. But they have Sanctuary benefits listed instead. Seems weird, they should have just called them Sanctuary Suites... much like how they have Sanctuary Mini Suites vs Mini Suites.
  12. Mini Suites in the Aft are just "Mini Suites", not Sanctuary Mini Suites. There are some in the middle of the ship that do not count as Sanctuary either. Probably those that were "Reserve Mini Suites" were converted to Sanctuary Mini Suites. Agree, really weird that there are 267 SQ FT Mini Suites and 304 SQ Ft ones. Before, I thought all mini suites were listed at 304 sq ft.
  13. NCL Viva and RCL Voyager of the Seas/Explorer of the Seas go to Kotor and they are 140,000 tons. According to the schedule, they've spaced out the Sun so that there isn't another medium/large ship that is tendering the same day. So at least there's prep there. At least it's not like one of the August days where NCL Pearl, Queen Victoria and Celebrity Constellation are all tendering. That's about 7000 people (probably higher for summer to include children) tendering to a town with a population of 17000 people. Hoping Kotor is still on the schedule. May, June, July folks are pretty much stuck since the May sailing will occur after payment is due. Aug and Sept folks will need to rely on what happens to the May sailing. I guess stay tuned!
  14. Unless you have premier for the multi device Wifi
