  1. Oh my gosh, I was in stitches I was laughing so hard. That was really a great cruise. Loved the enrichment lectures and of course getting to meet Jeff Corwin multiple times was the whole reason for the trip.
  2. Din Tai Fung did not disappoint! Was an hour wait, but we walked around the mall and shopped until I got the text for check in. Great food. Brought leftovers back to the hotel for breakfast. Doubletree SouthCenter is nice. Room is good. Like how there’s a seperste sitting area and the bedroom.
  3. I've got friends in Seattle who gave me a hot tip about a really good restaurant across the street.
  4. Booked a night at Doubletree South Center next week. Travel Agent suggested it since I think Princess had mentioned it as we are doing EZAir. Did you end up staying there?
  5. On the other hand, there's a big fire in the Santa Ynez Valley, but the valley's always typically been warmer than the coast anyway.
  6. Got family on the Big Island so know aaaaaalll about island time. It's August 11 for me before I'm on Majestic.
  7. Wow! Is Majestic getting a new menu for 2024 or is this just offerings for your sailing? Not sailing on her until August for an Alaska cruise, but if plant-based chicken tacos were on my menu, I'd be pretty pleased
  8. You're welcome! Saw the ship yesterday (I work downtown right near the harbor at the city college). Not the best of weather (but it was really nice most of the day a couple of miles up the coast where I live) Hope you managed to find what you were looking for and enjoy!
  9. I'll admit that I'm sailing to Alaska on Princess this summer. But when a family member and I decided to take an Alaskan cruise, I did look at Carnival because of the prices. I've only ever been once on RCL and once on Carnival so no loyalty to a brand of any kind. Carnival would probably have been my choice because I did enjoy the one trip I took almost 10 years ago (won ship on a stick at a trivia so extra feels there). But Princess ended up having the one thing that sold me... Jeff Corwin.
  10. Will be following! On the Majestic Princess in August for a RT from Seattle through Alaska so will look forward to seeing what the boat is like.
  11. Santa Barbara Shellfish Company on Stern's Wharf is where you want to go. Never had any there myself, but once saw some people eating some outside the restaurant. Take Lil Toot, the water taxi from the harbor and it can bring you across to the wharf if you didn't want to walk from the harbor to the wharf. The SB Fish Market might have some. It's in the harbor, past Brophy's and down one of the side alley ways, but I don't think they do a sit down menu or offer anything more than just by itself.
  12. Spotted Discovery Princess this morning from where I work in Santa Barbara. Someone I know had just been on her for a cruise in February and was telling me all about her. I'm on the Majestic in August up in Alaska (which is a first time Princess cruise for me ... although not my first cruise rodeo)
