I can't answer your Dart question. In case you are not aware. In order to board the tender you have to be able to walk some. The crew will assist you. You can't roll a wheelchair onto the tender and with the walker you must also be able to step onto the tender with assistance.  Most tenders have a few stairs to get to the seating which you have to be able to handle. The crew will load the wheelchair onto the tender and store it during the transit. Same with the walker.

This is what I have seen.

Thanks. He will be able to board the tender.

Sometimes the first few tenders don't get enough to fill as they go before the first tour and those with the tickets don't show.

if it is one of the no Dart dates it is not clear what people will do.

Sunday Dart starts 9:20 should be less demand for early tenders.

This is our first time to Dun Laoghaire. Could you please explain how use the Dart from the cruise port. My husband will be in a wheelchair or using a Rollator. Do you think this will be a big problem?

I have had this happen also. It is frustrating. It will be given as OBC on the ship.

I have called and they say "don't you want OBC, everyone wants OBC" and I am like "I used my credit card - I want a credit". Sometimes I have gotten it, other times I go to the casino and take the money out that way.

    Their accounting system needs help.

I understand that they have stopped allowing you take out the obc in the casino. I have no idea how they would police that but I’m sure I’ve seen another post about this subject.

Is the payout still £150 per missed port though?

£27 per cruise is quite high compared with others in the open market where it is still possible to buy an annual add on.  For those who do large numbers of cruises per year it will probable break even with the likes of Sttaysure and Avanti.  Unless there are major complex medical conditions there won't be much in it for multi cruisers.

Staysure only pay out £75pp per claim. However the cruise cover is for the term of the policy and is an add on. Our old Nationwide policy paid £150pp and cost £20pp extra annually. Nationwide no longer allow us cover.

  5. Glad you are having a good time. Often after a cruise I see a review and have to wonder if we were on the same ship. I believe it’s all to do with expectations. You are not and never will have 5* service on a cruise with the cost of a P&O cruise, especially the newer big ships. However, dirty cabins, rude staff etc etc should be addressed immediately with management and not be allowed to become a social media scenario.

  6. You will get £150 obc for each cruise. I’m pretty sure you would get it for a July cruise as you are within the application limit and I don’t think you have to hold them for any period before claiming as long as you hold 100 shares. I’m no expert at share dealing but there are others on here who will be able advise you.

  7. Has anyone used this shuttle service from Le Havre to Honfleur?  They pick up from the port and transfer to the city centre. They have 2 options, either 3 hours or 5 hours in Honfleur and then return direct to the ship. Very reasonable cost compared to a similar tour from the ship. Thanks

Carnival has it on thier ships I have read, but we usually attend on X.

    From the web.

What is a silent disco on a cruise?

If you walk in and see a room full of people dancing in silence, you've come to the right place. Welcome to the Silent Party, where DJs battle it out in a contest of quiet beats you can only hear through your headphones. Just choose your music channel and groove to the rhythms.

I’ve seen and indeed taken part in silent discos but they are usually far from silent. You might have four different songs being played and most people sing along loudly. It’s a lot of fun and popular on many cruise lines now.

Is Smith back in business?  I think they ceased operations during Covid.

When choosing a hotel keep in mind that Regal Princess uses two different terminals, and sometimes leaves from one and comes back to the other.

Smiths have ceased trading. We have used them many times and would be so glad to see them back in business.

    That's exactly us too!

And us. We have been cruising since 1990 but didn’t take our first cruise with P&O until 2018. We compared it with other cruise lines and decided never again. However when cruises to nowhere were offered during the pandemic we were so desperate to cruise we went on Britannia. Since then we have been on Azura, Arvia, twice on Iona with 3 more P&O cruises booked. We have a Princess cruise this year and reading some of the comments on the Princess CC forum, there are just as many moans on there.

  11. Fortunately in this instance our great TA was able to get us a cabin which is exactly as we had requested. We gave her a choice of 4 and we are very happy with the one we have been allocated.

  12. Anxiously awaiting a response from our TA. I’ve looked online and already there are lots and lots of cabins greyed out on the deck plan on our chosen cruise. Fingers and everything else crossed.

That remains to be seen but I am guessing that I will have to submit a new statement for each claim.

No, you only submit a statement once. I’ve been granted obc on two cruises. One Princess, one P&O. Only had to submit a statement for the first one. Just go to PERKS on the app and choose which cruise line, fill in the booking ref etc and a few hours later the second one was granted. Same day had an email from P&O confirming the obc.

  14. We have bought 2 different types over time and found the heavy duty ones to be more versatile. I use them to hang necklaces to stop them getting tangled in a drawer. Caps, and best of all, right by the door our lanyards. I also have a couple of magnetic bulldog clips - one for the Horizon and the other for tour tickets. Please feel free to mock me, I’m well aware that at my age I’m constantly forgetting where I’ve put things and a bit of a “tidy” freak as well.
