While I agree they are likely always looking at cost efficiency, I would think that their model has not caught up to what they are currently doing.
From what I understand, they still have ships with paper photos.
Until the entire fleet is running completely digital PIXELS, then it would probably cause more problems to try and have different pricing structures.

Also, they will likely keep pricing the same as they test customer reaction to purchasing photos digitally.
Once they can do a complete cost analysis, including how many people are purchasing digital vs. paper, they will likely revisit it with the new data and adjust accordingly.

We agree.  They will constantly adjust to maximize profit.  NOT to maximize sales or revenue.  Joe817 might have a fantastic plan to maximize sales or revenue, but that's not what it's about.

Couldn't let it go could you? Alright, let's begin. You do realize I bought the drink package. Here is the equivalent of what I did, I go to a restaurant and pay for all I can eat, but I also brought in some extra food. Did the restaurant lose money, no. Did carnival lose money, no

    I didn't lie. I didn't cheat. I didn't steal.

Congratulations on being a keyboard warrior and judging others.

Well yes, you absolutely did.  You can try to justify it all you like.  The very fact that you had to sneak it in is a clear indication that you're well aware of it, too.  It's ok to be morally bankrupt, but there's no point in lying about it.  We all know better and you're not fooling anyone.

One of the first things they taught me was to treat others the way I wanted to be treated, and if I couldn't say something nice not to say anything at all.

So with that being said have a nice life, and I hope you have many cruises in your future.

So you want people to lie, cheat and steal from you, too, is that right?

You having late seating has nothing to do with the Chef's Table.

Correct. And because the chefs table takes about three hours it's not going to be very late seating you.. not going to be much later than 6 o'clock if at all.

When you say the first sea day do you mean the first full sea day or first day you leave port?

    Thanks

I mean the first full day at sea.  Not departure day.  We left Seattle on Tuesday, our chef's table was on Wednesday.

We have sent in a request for our Feb 15th cruise but do not want to do our chefs table on a formal night - when do you find out which night you are scheduled?

Ours was on elegant/formal night.  Didn't get to choose.

Hi ParrotRob! Do you happen to have the current menu for the Chef's Table? Or at least can remember what some of the dishes were? We did it a year ago and we were wondering if the menu has since changed.

    Thanks!

I think so, let me check when I get home tomorrow.

However if they were less expensive, we would definitely buy more.

The cost really doesn't make sense now that they can't justify it with the waste of the prints that they used to just pulp after every cruise.
Sell them to me for $2-5 bucks each for the candid and destination tourist photos and maybe the current price for Elegant Evening photos, and I would buy a lot more.

Yes, but they'd make less money overall.

We also did Nachi Cocum in Cozumel, all you can drink.

If you are asking how it is possible to drink that much, we had 2-3 drinks per meal, and drinks at the show, also had drinks after the show. So the other stuff just filled in the day on sea days. If you are up 16 hours, its not hard to drink that much. Simply put vacation, and no I probably wouldn't take that much again.

If you are asking how it was possible to smuggle the alcohol on, the 750ml bottles of vodka went into rum runners, we put one in each bag. The beer went in the bottom row of the two 12 packs we carried on. The shooters went in my socks, I wore jeans to the port so I could hide them, I picked bottles with plastic lids.

Your parents must be so proud of you.

I was curious about the timing of activities in the evenings on the Sunrise but was also wondering if I get a copy of the current itinerary, if it changes based on the departure port or the ports of call.  We will be on Sunrise out of FLL in FEB.  Anyone have any current Sunrise Fun Times?  Thanks for your help.

They can change from cruise to cruise on the same ship from the same port, so yes.

Can you still bring bottled water aboard Carnival, Dasani, Crystal Geyser etc.

No, but you can bring canned water.  You CAN order bottled water from the fun shops ahead of time for a very reasonable price.

must have missed that.  we choose once a day (evening because it fits our needs, been asked every time).  This enhancement (option for selection of when you want service) has been bludgeoned to death.

    But it's not an "enhancement", it's a "CUTBACK"!!!!  🙄

My parents are cruising out of Mobile in a week. Their check in time is not until 1:30. Can they get there earlier and get on the boat? I saw where some ports wouldn’t let you in the building until your official boarding time. They are 70 plus so I don’t want them to have to wait outside!

That's kind of the whole idea of an appointment time for check-in.  If they show up when they're supposed to, they won't have to wait outside.  Imagine if everyone showed up early.

If they show up early, all bets are off.

I could be wrong...but thought I read somewhere the Cheers pkg doesn't start till you are at Sea...So having a Bottle of Wine in the room for the First day sounds like a deal...

Not only are you wrong, it starts the second you're on the ship, even before you have your Sail & Sign card

So you drive way out of your way to see homeless tents? Why would you do that?

By the way, what is your solution to the homeless problem? All I see from critics is that is because of poor management by the city but they never actually offer solutions.

No, I drive out of my way because I like to sightsee.  And sometimes on Sunday nights I like to dine in West Seattle.

And your lovely tent cities are, unfortunately, a necessary evil.

And I don't claim, nor have I ever claimed, to have a solution to the homeless problem.  But hey, according to you there ISN'T a homeless problem, so what difference does it make!

so alcohol is not fattening? thanks, I feel so much better now, time for a drink

You don't read so well, do you?  I said alcohol DOES NOT have sugar.  Then I said alcohol does not turn INTO sugar.  Nowhere did I say alcohol is not fattening.  NOWHERE.

You DO realize that other things make you fat than just sugar, right?

Learn to read and quit putting words into people's mouths.

And I'm still waiting for the web site you found telling you alcohol metabolizes into sugar, Captain Google.

semantical argument as alcohol turns to sugar and why it is so fattening. I just Googled it and read what I read

No, it absolutely does not "turn into sugar".  For starters, that's pretty much chemically impossible.  Secondly, in most cases, alcohol actually LOWERS the sugar in your body.  Trust me, I'm a type 1 diabetic and I've forgotten more about sugar metabolism than you will ever Google.

If you found a suite that actually says alcohol turns into sugar, I'd sure LOVE to see that.

that's like having a diet vanilla coke, always amuses me someone would order a diet coke and put a pound of sugar in it (vanilla syrup). You do know there is a ton of sugar in alcohol.

Um, no.  There are a ton of CALORIES in alcohol, but almost none of it is from sugar.  In fact, most hard liquors contain little or no carbohydrates at all, which means zero sugar.

You do realize that fermentation occurs when yeast EATS the sugar and turns it into alcohol, right?

I don't disagree that casual dining was also a factor.

In fact, over 25 years ago, me and a coworker started a casual Friday dress code trend on a Headquarters AF base.  I was a GS'er he was a contractor.  We stopped wearing suits, and started wearing khaki's with polo's on Fridays.

We went one better on our Army base - Casual Friday morphed into Hawai'ian shirt Friday.

Thank y’all so much ..... so I’m assuming it will probably start at 6:00pm ( this helps me so much so I can plan things around this) just wish I knew the night but it seems like it could be any night.

It won't be on a port day.
