Check and see if the Grab n Go case at Java Blue is working. They stock it with salads and fruit. Unfortunately, it was out of order when I was on her in March. We used it quite a bit when we were on the Mardi Gras.

I can tell you that the “everyday” MDR entrees were on the Chibang menu. I don’t know about the rest of the restaurants.

Magic. Dream class ships are my favorite. I like that you can see the water from the walkways on the public floors due to all the floor to ceiling windows. Reminds you that you are on a cruise ship.
I was on the Horizon (Vista class) and it felt like a “big box” ship. No personality at all. Seems like everywhere you go is an enclosed hallway. Plus, the atrium is weak and lacking.

This is a PSA only for fellow smokers who may have future port stops in Mexico. Please be considerate and not turn this into a smoking bashing thread.

Thanks for posting. I don’t have the Carnival offer but did have one for Celebrity ($150 credit for $500). I also had the one for Royal Caribbean which I used last week, maybe that’s why I received the new one today for Celebrity.
Can you tell me which Amex card you had the Carnival offer on? My Royal and Celebrity offers were on my EveryDay card, nothing on my Delta card.
It was on my Everyday card.

Spend $1500 or more, get $400 back. $1500 spend can be in one ore more transactions. Expires 12/31/2021. Good on Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Seabourn and Cunard.
There also is a separate Amex offer out there for Royal Caribbean-$200 Off $500.

No casino on Grand Turk, but the ships casino stays open during the port.
-
I’ve snorkeled on my own at Grand Turk many times with my own equipment. From the main beach area, you need to go out by the rope towards the ship. The trick is, take
some dog bones you can break up or some Cheerios in a ziplock bag. You will be swarmed by fish. Also, pay attention to the bottom. Not uncommon to see octopus or flatfish. They both like to hide in the sand. The flatfish will have very light blue dots.
-
Doesn’t work for Cruise Cash, but you can use it to pay on an existing reservation. I usually only pay $500 on Amex, then pay the rest on my credit card that has travel insurance. If you don’t have a PVP, the website allows split payments.

Elite is the Cheers package. Anywhere on the ship, including the coffee bar. Of course, you’ve probably already paid for it if you’ve been invited on an Elite cruise 😂.

Carnival didn’t give me OBC as a shareholder one time. They refused it. But I guess I wasn’t surprise because I was going on an elite cruise.
I’ve also had this happen on comped cruises, but I still submit. It’s totally hit or miss. I just received OBC this week for an Elite cruise scheduled for next month.

In the past they always posted the credit within a week , two at most.
i do have a question slightly off topic.. I recently was offered and took a casino rate for a re purposed Cuba cruise..
if I submit my shares to the fax line what’s my chance of getting a shareholder credit ?
You should get it as long as the cruise was not free (free meaning you only paid taxes plus small deposit which is refunded as OBC).

I have used this “type” of offer multiple times for Carnival. Historically, it can be used to make a payment to an existing cruise. Payments for both new and existing cruises show up on your bill as “reservation”. BTW, I have this on my Amex business card, but it’s $225 statement credit instead of points. Depends on the type of Amex card.

Cozumel has two different cruise ports. Carnival is Puerto Maya and the other one is downtown.

Dream class, continental breakfast on deck 5, Ocean plaza. Never, ever crowded. Also, as stated previously, the lounge areas on deck 5 are sooo relaxing. Great viewing spot when entering or leaving ports.

I just tried to book this for the Breeze for 2/26/19. Unfortunately, it was sold out. One boat only, maximum of 6 people. Trying to find alternatives. What day are you planning?

This! I received free play on at least 15 cruises and I do check every time to see if my wife is on the free play list. She never is no matter Ultra or Premier, or any other casino offer. She does get the drinks card and is entered in the Ultra/Premier random drawings for the games and cash (Matilda, Fill My Bag, etc.), but not the one for the big Ultra prize.
Always send an email to the Player’s club for your wife. I do this for my husband who doesn’t play much. They usually give him $50 casino credit.

Usually one week before your cruise.

Your review is awesome! My SIL, nieces and nephews are on your tour. You are allowing me to travel with them, albeit long-distance. I’ll be making my 7th trip north in a couple of weeks! Definitely hooked on Alaska.

Southwest’s new schedule will open up on May 31st. I’ve found that flights are usually at their lowest on the first day they open.

“Sea Day brunch, the steak and eggs they serve filet mignon it is fantastic!”
Totally agree with this. TIP: request “real” eggs if ordering scrambled or an omelet.
Also, the banana cream pie is THE BEST dessert on the ship!

You would not have by chance saved your fun times. Will be on Dream next month.
Sorry, no. The only thing I save is a printout of my bill!
-
Just got off the Dream and there was no lemonade on the Lido deck. All dispensers contained tea and cranberry juice. Haven’t seen anyone mention this about other ships.

Don’t wait for the casino host to approach you for a comp. Sometimes you just have to go ask for one. They can give comps to Emeril’s. You don’t ask, you don’t get!
