  1. What I have found with NCL (and it's been a while since I sailed them) was that the military discount was still higher prices than the sale that they had going on (and they always had a sale of some kind). Also, everyone I tried to use NCLs shareholder benefit it couldn't be combined with the fare I was using as the benefit is not combinable with any other offer (unlike Carnival Corp.)

  3. It has already come to pass that you can no longer claim the veteran AND the shareholder OBC - 1 only. They are both still showing on my cruise thingy on the website.
  4. Let's see, since I booked and made final payment for my 15 day cruise already, if I want the same experience as I thought I was getting it will cost me $30 to set up ocean now, $5 for each RS delivery (last cruise was at least once a day), and $30 each time we want to go to Alfredo's (and this is a TA so it is heavy on sea days.) Don't drink alcohol and only drink one soda per day, don't drink foo foo coffee (just black thank you) and would only waste time if I had the internet on the cruise (had plus last cruise and spent to much time on Facebook for some reason) and would enjoy it less. Have already given the family the information on how to call us if there is an emergency. So no need there. Could always go to the internet cafe if there was a real emergency (and couldn't get off in the middle of a TA anyway.) So yeah, not pleased with princess taking away things I thought I had paid for. And let's not mention the possibility of losing either the veteran's OBC or the shareholder OBC.
  5. You nailed it. And for a longer cruise, like a TA, it really sucks your money.
  6. We are looking at a cruise in October of next year. The question is, should we book now or wait till October of this year while we are on our next cruise to book? Or, can we still just buy a certificate on board then book right away with our TA (they give us quite a bit of OBC)?
  7. I guess that is the coroner and their helper, not the body they are working on. ,😃😆😆😆😂😂😂
  8. Just curious, I'm on a cruise in the middle of the ocean. What do I need Wifi for? If there was an emergency at home, what an I going to do? Jump off and swim?
  9. Roulette... Inside $5. Outside $10. But don't have to be all 5 or 10 in one bet, just total.
  10. Well there are other cruise lines, but I wouldn't say better (for the same price point.). But to each their own. But Jim, of you don't like Princess, why are you bothering to check out their boards?
  11. We are taking our first Holland America Cruise (Baltic States) this fall. We will be travelling by train through Europe prior to this cruise. Then we are on a Princess Cruise (after another train trip) for a Transatlantic home. We will be very limited on luggage. Question, we will not be able to pack a Suit coat or even a sports coat, as we are limited. Will this pose a problem in the main dining room? We will not be sloppy. No Jeans, no t-shirts, etc. Slacks and Collared shirt for me, slacks and nice top for DW.
  12. We rented a car in Skagway and drove up the mountain to Emerald Lake. Then over to have a nice lunch somewhere in Canada. Saw a bear on the side of the road, along with other wildlife. They had given us a map of what to see. Much less than the train, and we really enjoyed it. Had a group of friends that took the train up a few years later and said that was the highlight of their cruise (other than cruising with me, lol.) So, you can't go wrong either way. However, I would do the car rental as you can make as many or as few stops as you would like. If you do a car rental, go early. Try to be one of the first up the mountain. That way you have a much better opportunity to see wildlife. If the ship offers a small boat tour in Icy Straight, I would take it.
  13. They called it a tangerine. It was just a cheesecake ball. It was good, but I was expecting an orange flavored something. I didn't know what I was ordering, just saw it and had to have it, lol.
  14. American Express Credit Card. While eating there, local guide say at the table next to us with a couple that paid before us. They were going to pay with dollars. He told them they would get a better rate with credit card, and he was correct. Everything at this ship was priced in Columbian pesos. Just used phone to get the conversion rate. It was very inexpensive (I thought) but a really nice shop.
  15. I am just the opposite. The smoked salt was the highlight of my meal on the Emerald last month.
  16. I to was on this cruise. I agree mostly. But I don't feel it was bad by any means. I mean, I was on a cruise vacation afternoon. However, I thought the food in the MDR was always good to great. I was unimpressed with the food in Crown Grill. I ate my weight in prosciutto from the buffet. And Sabatini's was wonderful. Showers were very small, but about what I remember. Princess is still my favorite line, buying giving HAL a try in September, and am wanting to go on Allure of the Seas just to see Mama Mia. And don't really care for RCL.
  17. There is a beef of some time just about every night. If you utilize the same table and same waiter as we did, then you can ask to see the next days menu. They do that for the people with Dietary restrictions. Talk to the maitre d if you need to. They can be your friend. We were about to order a souffle ahead of time on a night there weren't any on the menu. Granted, we wanted orange, like on embarkation day lunch in the MDR, but they brought us vanilla. It was super fresh and we had to wait, but was excellent. I highly advise going to the MDR for lunch on embarkation day. They will probably give you a list of places serving lunch right after you check in on the terminal. The MDR will not be on that list, but one of them will be open. More relaxed and less crowded than the buffet or pizza place.
  18. For those following, I forgot to post the menu the last night. Didn't get a picture. But they did have Prime Rib and it was delicious. DW had the saffron seafood risotto and she loved it. I finally ordered the volcano for dessert (which isn't on the menu). It was good. I did get a pic.
  19. Yes, I was in both performances of the pop choir. No on the sports cup or the Olympics. The final ceremony was the same time as the voice of the ocean finale, so we went to The Voice. It was really neat. I did play some pickleball in that atrocious court they had. But we made do. I did get onstage for the yes no game show. I only wanted a coaster, so I went out early. Yes, he would have gotten me before the 3 minutes where up, but I went out just to get a coaster. We did not play the progressive trivia. We usually win way too many prizes. Didn't win anything till the last night on this trip. Didn't win one trivia. We did meet some neat people on this trip. No, probably won't keep in touch. But it was a great cruise. Our first 15 day cruise. We have 2 more 15 day cruises planned this year.
