  1. Wow sorry to hear that. I was hoping I was helping.[emoji17]

Oh...I appreciated the idea! Unfortunately it just didn’t work out for my dates. Hopefully I hear about things soon or I will have to look elsewhere soon.

  2. I checked the Hyatt website to see what the price is. It’s cheaper than valuetrips by about 5.00 a night for my nights. Not enough to make a big deal over BUT if you book it through Hyatt, you’ll get immediate confirmation. You have to join their “world of Hyatt” to get the members rate. Free to join. Then once you book your rooms, I’d cancel anything done with valuetrips.

Already a member and it was almost twice the amount for my date.

  3. www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area hotel and tourist info. Budget and dates would help the suggestions to be closer to your target - the $300 room in Feb can go for under $100 in August. ;)

Hollywood is sort of located between FLL and Miami -- how are you getting to POM? It might be easier to stay in the FLL area and then use a shared shuttle or Uber to get to POM. I do not think most of the popular shuttles pick up at Hollywood hotels. :(

Yeah i think for precruise we may stay in FLL as we arrive late. Post cruise we could stay anywhere between Miami and FLL. Looking in the range of $150 to $200 for a decent hotel...some extras like breakfast for hubby would be nice.

  4. Not sure how.Maybe it was done using just my name and not my id. Bummer you haven't heard yet from valuetrips. Give it a bit more time as it can take a couple weeks.yeah I know I booked early.I booked as soon as the dates opened up in early December. Lol I knew I wanted to stay there as we enjoyed our stay there last time.

Lol... thanks! I’m looking at other hotels right now because I need to get these booked. I’m not patient LOL. Our ttrip is coming up in three months I need to be sure what’s what.

OK I was just wondering how they would get your info in order to have it show up in your app that’s all. How would they know what your World of Hyatt id is. There I s nothing in my app and no reservation at the hotel. So I’m not sure if that means I’m not getting it or they just haven’t submitted it yet. But I need to get my hotel booked for May and one for April so I can get my travel insurance in place.

And wow you book way ahead of time December? That’s 11 months away LOL

  6. Just called the hotel they have nothing listed for me. He had not heard of the travel site before but he said that there’s lots of different ones so that’s not unusual. But nothing under my name for that date.

  7. It was though the Hyatt app on my phone.

I understood that but how would they have your ID number? It doesn’t ask for it on value trips. And how would you have the reservation number to add in to the app to look for your reservation?

I logged onto my account on my iPad last night through world of Hyatt or whatever it’s called. In order to find a reservation you need a reservation number LOL. So I just added the app onto my phone and the same thing. So I don’t know how you could see it on the app unless you had information ahead a time. Thanks

  8. Loved staying at the Hyatt last August and are using them again in December.Valuetrips is slow as reported above.I didn't call but looked up via my Hyatt account online and found my reservation that way.As for the airport shuttle,we used it after we dropped our rental car off and never had to pay any money(we drove down from Orlando). We used uber to get to the port and it cost about $14 for an SUV.That was for 4 of us so way cheaper then the hotel shuttle.

How did you find your reservation,,,it asks for a res#.

  9. It took us almost 4 weeks to get our confirmation from valuetrips. We made the request in late September, got a confirmation email in November!

I did call the hotel once to see if the reservation was made, but it wasn't. You can do that anytime if you want to check. When I called, the hotel said they get the requests and process them in bunches, so maybe this has an effect.

My advice--make another booking somewhere that can be canceled, then when/if you hear from valuetrips, you can cancel the other booking. We were originally at La Quinta Inn and Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport for about the same price, on April 15. They had an airport shuttle and were close to a big shopping center with restaurants and stores to buy incidentals or wine. Hotel shuttle would take you there too.

    Good luck

Wow....4 weeks,,,,who wants to wait that long.... I guess this isn’t a great option after all. Thanks....oh...and nothing in my email today either. :(

    .....Debbie :)

  10. I got denied one of my dates for in April and still waiting to hear on a date I submitted for May. I originally got a denial for that one too because I didn’t add my CC info. Someone posted in another thread that it wasn’t needed till arriving at the hotel. But valuetrips said it was. Their website didn’t look too secure and I didn’t want to enter it if not needed. I am hoping I hear something tomorrow as I resubmitted the request last Friday.

How long before most people hear back? I got the denials early the next morning after submitting the original requests. Thanks..

  11. The time it takes for Valuetrips to contact you can vary....after approx a week call Hyatt Place directly and give your name and date and they'll easily be able to confirm your reservation. From then on you can deal directly with Hyatt Place to request bedding type etc. or to cancel.

So I put in 2 different requests and I had two emails waiting for me from valuetrips this morning. The date of April 22nd was declined as not available, my other date might be accepted however they declined my request because I didn't put in credit card information. I just don't feel comfortable providing them credit card information when their website does not show any type of privacy protection. So that stinks!

  12. We flew in to FLL from UK last Easter. We chose Embassy Suites.

None of the hotels in this area seem particularly cheap .

We stayed for four nights. Situated within an easy walk to Harbor Shops.. several restaurants (we used Duffy's), Publix, Total Wine. CVC Pharmacy within half a mile. TK Maxx, Dollar Tree (like Poundland) and Ross Dress for Less nearby for any forgotten clothing / miscellaneous items. Outlet Mall about 15 min drive away (hired car for $93 a day including all taxes and insurance..you can get a shuttle for about $50 pp return)

Embassy Suites provide manager's evening reception...drinks and minor snacks each evening and an included breakfast buffet with cooked to order egg station. The hotel is older and could do with some refurbishment but our room was clean. There is a pleasant swimming pool area with towels available. Staff very professional and helpful.

Hyatt Suites is close to this property but we didn't visit it. From what I have been reading, more people recommending Hyatt.

The location of either, with facilities that are offered would be our choice for next cruise out of Port Everglades.

For $1 per person, per trip (or $3 full day) you can catch Sun Trolley to beach and/or Galleria Mall.

Taxi from airport to hotel (late eve) was $22 incl tip. Taxi Hotel to Port Everglades $12 and port back to airport $20

Hope this is helpful even though doesn't link with your suggested hotels.

    Bon Voyage.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites last spring and I did not like it at all. The rooms needed a lot of updating, our air conditioning was noisy and didn't work correctly no, there was no person to take the luggage, you had to wait to get your luggage if you had them holding it, they didn't answer the front phones probably, and people working had a bad attitude. We did have one person that came to look at the air conditioner who was a nice guy and helped us out. But I won't stay there again. We thought the reception was a joke so if you looking for drinks and snacks they were very basic. My husband did like the breakfast but that was about it. Thanks for the info we've been to Fort Lauderdale multiple times and we have used the sun trolley a lot.

  13. Privacy protection.....you aren't required to put in a credit card....Go through the online checkin and see if your night of 4-22 is available...it cost you nothing to book it with Valuetrips...you pay the hotel directly at check out. We have used Valuetrips many times with no problem.

I just went to look again it’s asking me to put in my credit card information on the value trip website to guarantee my reservation. .

Edit to add… I just went back and ignored the part about credit cards hit send ....fingers crossed on what happens. I put in two different dates.

  14. So...saw mention of Valuetrips. I haven’t used them before and their website doesn’t seem to have any privacy protections. Anyone had any issues? I was looking for the night of 4/22 and another night in May. Under exclusions 4/17-4/22 is listed. Does that mean I am out of luck for a discount the night of 4/22? Thanks

  15. Just booked flights to escape from the PR hotel nightmare. Hopefully flights don’t cancel. My $135 each flight to Boston on 11/14 just turned into a $350 each flight on 11/12 with a 3 day stop in Orlando. Oh and a $533 hotel bill. I am pissed off big time. NCL should have cancelled cruise or make arrangements for people with flights booked days after disembarkment. Good luck to those still staying.....

  17. I'm so glad I came on here today. I had a reservation at the Intercontinental for Nov 3, and read a post above that they were canceling reservations until Dec1. I didn't get anything from the hotel notifying me so I called them directly and sure enough, they need to cancel. Ugh. Not sure why they hadn't contacted me. Immediately called Casablanca and was able to get a room. So thank you fellow cruisers for the info.

Glad you got another hotel. Just keep checking to be sure they will be open. Many are on generators and lacking some things related to services. We are trying to change our flight to leave the day we disembark. So far no luck :(

  18. EXACTLY. So why anyone would advocate for them to cancel an entire cruise because some passengers are going to stay for a few more days after disembarkation is beyond me. It is even more confusing when the supposed reasons to cancel have nothing to do with the ability of the cruise line to deliver the promised cruise and is outside of anything they can help to resolve. Cancelling a cruise and impacting the majority of the passengers who are not going to remain in the port would be grossly unfair.

OK your opinion.. A cruiselines needs to evaluate the whole picture. So what are people supposed to do? If there are no hotels and people‘s flights are days later where are they supposed to stay?

  19. thanks we are going to call them back tonight to see what the deal is. My wife just called Holiday Inn Express Condado and while they say available online when you call they say they are not currently accepting reservations. Checked Comfort Suites and says sold out - this is ridiculous!!!

I know I’ve been stressing all day I just don’t know what to do. We leave two weeks from Friday. I haven’t started packing I have so much stuff to do at my house and all I’m doing now is making phone calls and researching. I did take a small break and made some muffins to use up some bananas and I’ve already eaten four of them! Now I’m going to need to go shopping to get more clothes UGh
