  1. Does not include pressing service.

But if you have any washables they do come back pressed. For instance, we always want our formal shirts pressed so we just sent them out in the laundry and they came back perfectly pressed.

  2. Going on the Eurodam on Feb. 25th! After reading this thread I am considering a Lido cabana. I cannot find on HAL's website where to get current prices and how to reserve them. Can anybody help?

We're on the same sailing and just booked a Lido Cabana last week. It was $199 for the week. You need to call Ship Services to reserve it (you pay when you reserve).

    :) :)

  3. How many people can use a Retreat Cabana? We have six of us going but two are kids who I know will not use it other than a "home base" for the pool activities. Is a regular cabana suitable for four people?

Also...are there any special amenities that you receive in the cabanas?

    Thank you!!

  4. If you enjoy just being in the water we have always rented floating mats. This time, however, they had something new called a water hammock (which was the same price as the floating mat) and this was much more enjoyable. This is our new favorite thing in the water there.

  5. I've read on the Celebrity site about the Butlers in the suites. We will be in a Royal Suite on Millennium in October (first time on Celebrity). Exactly what can we expect from our Butler? Is this a glorified steward or more than that?

    Thank you!!

    :) :)

  6. Does anyone who has stayed in either of these suites have photos to share? I believe they are a new "type" of suite and I would like to see the layout.

I do not think they are the same as on Eurodam...as I know originally these were only for 2 people on Eurodam (we looked at them but needed room for 3 of us), but I believe they are listed for up to 3 or 4 now on NA.

    Thanks!! :) :)

  7. I did the week's pass on the Eurodam last year. Loved the loungers, steam rooms and saunas. Was not impressed with the hydra-pool at all. I found it to be uncomfortable (especially the metal bar loungers at the one end) and there was no way just to "sit and bubble" comfortably.

I will not be doing the pass again on the Eurodam or the Niew Amsterdam, but would on any of the other ships. I especially enjoyed the one on the Statendam, even with the aromatherapy not working.

    Cheers,

    Deb

...and we find lounging on those metal bar loungers to be incredibly comfortable and relaxing... :) :)

  8. I noticed a hydro pool on the Eurodam last December but didn't take a look at it. What exactly is a hydro pool? Is it part of a spa package? Is there a fee to use it? Does the Nieuw Amsterdam have one?

Has anyone used the thermal suite before? What is it like and what is the cost? Where is it on the NA?

    Thanks so much!

Check your deck plans and you can see where they are located. The Thermal Suite is basically just behind the hydropool.

The hydropool or as it is also known as a thassolotherapy pool is very similar to a traditional whirlpool, however the water contains special minerals that are good for the skin. The water is kept at body temperature, so you can stay in much longer than a traditional whirlpool. There is an area that is like a lounge area and then in the middle is a round area with stronger jets. There are also showers that you can stand under to pinpoint specific areas on the body.

The thermal suite is an area that has heated tile loungers. To look at them they do not look at all comfortable to me, but once you lay on one you will be addicted...and quite possibly will fall asleep there. Part of this area also includes three separate steam areas, all at different levels of intensity.

This is our favorite thing on HAL ships...we always purchase the weeklong pass and spend many hours there. All of the Vista and Signature ships have this area with the hydropool and thermal suite. It is my understanding that the older ships have a thermal suite, however the hydropool is mostly just like a traditional whirlpool.

If you are cruising, as soon as you embark I would encourage you to go directly to the spa and do the spa tour. The thermal suite and hydropool are part of the tour. :) :)

  9. Sorry...I'm asking about 11205 or 11206...

Does anyone have photos of either of these Spa Suites? We are considering them for next year.

Anything that anyone should know before booking either of these staterooms? We are all about the thermal suite and hydrotherapy pool, so this would be beneficial to us.

  10. Sign up when you get on board - do it right away - they only sell 100 packages (or 50 couples packages).

This package was one of the highlights of my whole trip - went there twice a day for 1-2 hours each time. Don't miss it!

This is the first thing that we do when we get onboard. On our last sailing, we got a special deal (sorry, I don't remember the price) when we signed up for the week. I know that when we saw the sign later in the day and the next day it was a higher price.

Enjoy this area of the ship...it has become our favorite area to spend time.

  11. And the temperature of the water is body temperature...so you can stay in much longer than you can a normal jacuzzi.

IMHO this is one of the best things on HAL ships...we spend a great deal of our time in the T-pool and on those thermal loungers (definitely get our money's worth).
