  1. Good news, NCL has revised their policy for obtaining OBC for owning 100 shares of stock. They eliminated the term "for bookings made after August 5, 2013". All bookings are now eligible. Just spoke to investors relations and then confirmed for myself that the wording was removed from their web site. Emailed the form and already received and printed their confirmation of my $100 OBC.

What is the email address you used to request the credit? I decided to buy the stock since I have a couple of NCL cruises booked....I've had CCL and RCCL for years...

  2. If Debbie's guess is correct, Carnival might do what Princess sometimes does. Give two options for port of embarkation. San Diego to Australia 20/21 days or Hawaii to Australia 17 days.

OR Tampa to Hawaii with the option of disembarkating at some port on the west coast. ( 16 days vs 21 days )

With only 38 days, it's looking like maybe only 2 segments.

Are we having fun speculating or is it driving us all crazy? LOL

Dianne, I don't think Carnival will do anything to jeopardize getting the Australians and New Zealanders on board.

Hey Mary!! I was reading all posts on the Legend and saw yours....I'm wondering, are you and Serge thinking of doing the entire Aussie cruise starting in Tampa.....or picking it up in California? Didnt know if y'all were gonna do the whole 38 days...

I'm waiting to see about just doing the canal transit part....

  3. Glad you like my review so far!

The Pan American pier where you will board the Summit is the one across the bay. It's about a 10-15 minute taxi ride from Old San Juan.

Ships will dock right in OSJ when they are just there for the day on a port stop, although I think Carnival might use that pier for embarkation and debarkation. I'm not sure as I've never sailed Carnival.

Looks like you're doing the same itinerary I am next January. I'm sailing on the Summit on 1/4/14.

We are going on Jan 18, 2014....I appreciate the info on the pier. I have sailed out of there on Carnival and it was the pier across from the old town. I thought maybe Celebrity was at the other pier........

thanks again.....for the info and the great review

  4. Ok, I'm back. Called 1-800-522-2600 and spoke with a lady in Colorado who was very helpful by emailing someone in Miami about this problem. She is currently awaiting a response back and will phone me when she finds out. In the meantime, I called 1-866-270-1064 which is the dedicated line for the gift cards. I spoke with a gentelman who was very aware of the problem of Canadians not being able to buy these gift cards online and to quote him "We are aware of this problem and the gift card offer is only available to people in the U.S. As of now, we are not working on changing the website to support any other areas."

Wow. I am NOT impressed at all.

not sure why everyone even wants these........??? IMHO just another way for Carnival to hold your money.......and yes, I am a Diamond on Carnival......but all the changes they've made this last year.....I'm just "not a believer" anymore.....

  5. 35 days out, online check in completed, received welcome aboard booklet in the mail but still can't access edocs. How long before they are available?

this happened to us a couple of years ago when our TA put us in a GROUP without our knowledge .......and it held up our documents. I was totally pissed about it......and he acted like it was no big deal and that agents did it all the time.......
