  1. Yes, walk the halls on a day you prefer inside… less boring than a treadmill tho an occasional sidestep to avoid folks exiting staterooms 😉🤣

taking the stairs between decks will add to your workout… think stair master!

  2. I live near Boston and love this city!

FYI:  The T (subway system) is in disarray right now… station closings, train malfunctions…

You really should take an Uber, taxi, or any shuttle that may be offered at the cruise port!!

Btw, for a city tour consider doing a DuckBoat tour.  Fun way to see and learn much!

  3. That’s a pretty aggressive shore itinerary! Acadia is quite nice but considering your former outdoor/nature experiences, you might be disappointed after taking so much time to get there, hike/sightsee, return to town.  The little town is very nice…tho wonder how it handles big crowds from cruise ships! Us NewEnglanders like our lobster, but you may find it somewhat pricey when costs rise when cruisers hit the streets!   Enjoy!

  4. Starting the day with breakfast on the veranda (or any stateroom for that matter!) is a wonderful experience!  No need to get out of your PJs ! No crowds competing for a seat or a ladle of oatmeal!

Not sure of the policy right now, so be sure to confirm my info by carefully reading the room service menu.

In the past we have ordered a "continental"/basic breakfast of coffee, cereal, fruit etc. with no charge..tho we always give a tip to whoever delivers.  There were charges for cooked items, and that was listed un the menu.

  5. Since we will be in Iceland a few days before our cruise departs from Reykjavik, we figure we will need a Covid test prior to boarding. Tests done at home would be too far out from cruise date, I assume.    So I just booked appointments for our tests to be done at the HARPA CONCERT HALL 48 hours before embarkation !  It was an easy process to book and pay by credit card...$109.07 for two of us (odd amount due to US $ conversion today).  I printed out the appointment confirmation as well as received a text on my phone.

One step done in preparation!   In a perfect world none of this will be necessary in August, but just in case....

  6. We like/rely on the printed”daily “ left each evening. I use a highliter to mark what i am most interested in doing…fold and keep it with me during the day…a quick reference when I lose track of time/events.  Spouse does the same and occasionally we meet up.  🤣🤣

  7. I have made my final payment for an August cruise. 🤑   I keep checking for sales and was able to reduce my final payment recently when a sale came up before I paid!

So I am wondering if anybody knows if I might be able to get any onboard credit should there be another price drop and / or any promotion offered between now and sailing.   A phone conversation just had me believe that is not possible, since I already paid in full.   Seems reasonable to me that any sale to a new booking could be honored to me as an OBC.  (I believe I did just that for a previous cruise so time ago.)  But then again, how reasonable  would that be when a company is trying to increase revenue?  🤣

  8. I just payed my balance over the phone for an August cruise …. and got a few questions answered as well as a lovely repricing!  no problem .  Received Email confirmation/receipt immediately.

As for long wait times…try calling very early AM or late evening and you may have less wait time.   FYI…during long waiting,  I put my phone on speaker and go about doing things within earshot while waiting… good time management?   Just be sure your phone is plugged into your charger 🤣🤣

  9. Being a bit tired from traveling or over excited, we love boarding early even tho our room isn’t ready.  We generally park ourselves in the warm solarium or sky view lounge  …both pretty quiet areas at this point to unwind….go grab a drink or food, bring it back to “our” quiet spot and relax…. maybe even nap!   Soon enough action begins and we’re ready for it!

  10. Oh!, how I hope the staff will serve at any buffet!  Done several cruises.  Before COVID, our first Celebrity cruise out of Venice, was also our first with buffet service and sealed our Celebrity loyalty!  Food was “under glass”, so we simply pointed or requested verbally.  Too many unpleasant observations at buffets to even start to list. 🤮

  11. Before starting our cruise from Reykjavik this summer we will visit the the Blue Lagoon upon arrival in Iceland then stop at Geysir during a Golden Circle tour the next day.   So wonder if we will be wrong to NOT take a shore ex. from Akureyri that would include thermal fields and Myvatn Baths and instead opt for an excursion that includes Godafoss waterfall, botanical gardens and the town itself.  This is our first trip to Iceland, and most likely only trip there, so hope to get the most Icelandic "flavors" possible in such a short time.

    Thoughts?

  12. We are ELITE status and received invites.

...agree with most comments.   Being on the helipad for a sail in or out can be fun...something out of the norm.   Can get windy.  Passengers and crew always happy to take pics for you.  Our sail out of Montenegro was nice except for some wind and rain!   ..,so ya never know what you're gonna get!  The crew did still passed out drinks and umbrellas!    ☺️

On my first Celebrity cruise, we sailed into Venice listening to Andrea Boccelli on the sound system; I still get chills thinking about it!!!

Andrea Boccelli anywhere can give ya chills!  😍

  14. We have a reservation on the Summit in August (Iceland to Boston), and very much looking forward to the trip!!   Is it possible that it is really fully sold out, or do you think it is "sold out" for a limited capacity due to ongoing COVID precautions?  Personally, I would still like sailing with a lesser crowd, tho I am also thankful that sailings can get back to "normal"

  16. I am so sorry this is such an issue for you and hope it will be resolved immediately.

If you are seated at a table for one, I can't imagine it is very far from another table with any number of guests.  My husband and I always request a table for two and are always just fingers away from another.  If we feel comfortable chatting with "neighbors", go for it.  If not, since not actually sitting at their table, it doesn't seem required to chat.  Sometimes I prefer to not have forced conversation, other times I need a new face to talk to.  😉
