  1. I am planning a cruise trip for next November and want to rent a car for 3 days pre cruise at FLL and return it at Miami. There is any rental car location at Miami that has a shuttle to POM?

IF YOU RETURN IT TO MIA THEN THE FOLLOWING HAVE SHUTTLES, DOLLAR, THRIFTY, ALAMO, NATIONAL AND MAYBE ENTERPRISE. i DON'T KNOW ABOUT DOWNTOWN LOCATIONS, BUT IT'S CHEAP TAXI RIDE TO POM.

  2. Next spring my wife and I are renting a Thrifty Rental Car in FLL and turning it in at MIA.

Thrifty list the turn in as "Cruise Ship Shuttle".

My question -- Has anyone used this service and are there long waits for the shuttle or is it pretty efficient?

    Thanks,

    Kel:)

It's basically Dollar and Thrifty. Have used them many times with no problems. The buses are frequent. Check if the rate is cheaper if you just book to MIA instead of Cruise ship shuttle, also check the Dollar rate, either way you won't have a problem getting on the shuttle. Make sure you have your receipt when getting on the shuttle, sometimes they check to see if you actually returned a car.

  3. We booked a concierge guarantee and were almost immediately assigned a C3 close to the front of the ship. I was able to change it to an aft cabin location (still C3 category) closer to the elevators. Very happy with it for the price!

    Hi Diane,

We are on the same Equinox sailing in November. How long after booking did you get your stateroom number.

  4. The "Free" classic beverage package through Celebrity does include the beverage gratuities for drinks included in the package. This is important to know because other lines like Norwegian charge you a service charge even when they give you the package for "free".

I'll use round numbers for easy math, but on Norwegian if the beverage package was to cost $600 and they give it to you for free, they still charge you $108 (18%) as a service charge. They do that for the free specialty dining too.

With Celebrity it is a free Classic Beverage Packaging Including Gratuities - so no line item charge for gratuities for the free classic beverage package.

If you upgrade to the Premium package either onboard or before your cruise, the per day price is $10 + 18% gratuities. So I usually tell people it is $11.80 per person per day for the upgrade.

As long as you drink strictly from the Classic Package there is never an extra charge when they give it to you for free.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your replies. I have sailed 11 times always with NCL, that's why I was asking. Thanks again.

  5. Robert, we haven't booked through NCL but have booked through last minute travel twice for our NCL cruises and have gotten great deals.

join their club for free or call them for better prices. By joining you'll have choice of hotels and they tell you the names.

  6. Here are our bills from Cagney's under the new a la carte menu. This is for 2 people. We paid $0 for the food, even though the totals were $109 and $90. (Ignore the $20 charge you see. That was for drinks, and it was also zeroed out since we had UBP.) We had the 4 day SDP on Escape.

I noticed that you had the UDP, does this work the same way for the SDP?
