You could also just go to the MDR in your PJs...you'd be overdressed on most Carnival cruises frankly...

My pajamas are really nice lol. They are definitely dinner Pajamas.

I thought I replied earlier but I didn’t so I’ll say: thank you to everyone who replied. It didn’t occur to me that YTD would be full also, and I did think I could be an unofficial substitute if someone else in the group drops out. I need to make a group post and ask if they all have different tables or what.

My dog sitter just dropped out so now I have a scramble on this.

  2. Hi, all. As I have mentioned, at the time I booked, I was able to snag the last cabin on the cruise. Then it sold out and went offline. We are going with a large group and they all have early dining. We were wait listed and assigned late dining, which I’m not going to do. Does Glory have an anytime dining room? Thanks. I haven’t started packing yet (hope today), so I’m a bit chaotic…

I received an email in the last day or so reaffirming that I can’t get early dining and I’m stuck with late.

Pros: The beautiful (and last i believe) Farcus designed lounge. The 2 separate casinos.

Cons: Steakhouse is the only specialty restaurant and no red frog pub. These were changed on the the other 2 Dream class builds.

Someone above mentioned Tandoor above, but it's no longer there.

    Oh no! I LOVED Tandoor!

There was no solo supplement on the Splendor to Alaska in July and August this year.

Nice. As I said, mine was still a deal so it was still worth paying double. If I went solo again, I would absolutely look for one with less than 100% single supplement. Why not? It makes good sense.

spleenstomper - Congratulations! You will love it. My stepfather and I

went Boston to Montreal round trip in 2018 on the (old) Rotterdam.

We had a great time. Happy New Year! 🥂😊

Thanks! We are both really excited. I’ve been to Vancouver before, but not anywhere else in Canada, so I’m really looking forward to it. DH has never been to Canada.

If you are unsure what plan you want, you can always get the basic plan and upgrade later if you need more.  I am not sure you can downgrade.

You can even wait until you are onboard to get it at all.

Also,  if your 20something is the one who wants internet, shouldn't he/she be the one paying for it?  😁

Don’t even get me started, but yes, he should be paying. It’s a thing. This is the end of it. It’s been a group effort. It needs to happen.

  7. Thank you. I just found it and will add it for the archives.

A Thalassotherapy Pool is featured on Carnival Breeze, Carnival Dream, Carnival Magic, Carnival Splendor and Mardi Gras. A large hot tub spa is featured on Carnival Horizon, Carnival Panorama and Carnival Vista.

  8. Sorry so many questions. I’m having a flair and my brain isn’t working correctly. I’m also having trouble navigating the carnival website.

Has anyone done the just try it acupuncture? Comments?

does Glory have the warm water therapy pool?

remind me never to book another cruise right after Christmas. I haven’t even begin packing and I have to be in Nola on sunday.

  9. The southwest board on Reddit is a pretty interesting read. Some people were rebooked today but not until 1/13/23 so I think the issues will be prolonged. OTOH, it seems a few people reported getting out today but with half full planes, so they suggest if you get stranded, put yourself on the standby list.

Also, if checking luggage, buy AirTags.

  10. To clarify, I’ve been on Dream twice lol, so I don’t HATE it. The first time we had a balcony on deck 7 so imagine how frustrated and aggravated I was, thinking I was going to meditate nightly looking at the ocean only to get blinded by the deck lights.

The second time we had a cove balcony and it was MUCH nicer.

Dream also has Tandoor so if you like Indian food, you can enjoy.

GeoBlue is trip medical insurance.  It includes evacuation and other typical coverages.  That and a credit card and we are set.  I never got a separate policy until Covid when some countries were requiring it

Great information, Mary. This has been a very helpful post, thanks.

GeoBlue is a travel insurance, not a Medicare product.  It is offered at the Trip Insurance store, is underwritten by Blue Cross and is cheap as dirt and excellent coverage.  The younger you are, the cheaper it is.  Check it out

Ok. I guess since I have private insurance that I never thought to use trip insurance for medical. I get trip insurance for repatriation of remains (gross but I know someone who died on a trip in India when their bus fell off a mountain), medical evac and trip delay and interruption.

There's an entire board here on Cruise Critic dedicated to Travel Insurance.

I used to purchase coverage per trip via insuremytrip dot com.  Once I got to the point where I was sailing more than twice a year &/or taking road trips, I started buying an annual policy from Allianz.

Yes, it occurred to me today that for 2022 and 2023, I would have done better with a yearly plan.
