  1. I was told, when I questioned the charge on the cruise, that it was to assure MSC that my credit card was valid for any charges we might owe on the cruise. The DSC was billed, but we had so much OBC it covered the DSC. MSC actually owed us a little from our OBC at the end of the cruise.
  2. I guess I don’t research for a company to makes errors like this. I am aware that MSC is notoriously awful in customer service, which is why I expect to be on the phone for at least an hour anytime I call. But, in the past, the representatives, once I reach them, have been able to resolve things.
  3. Why didn’t I think of that? Duh. On the way to call Chase now … thanks!
  4. My husband and I sailed the Seaside in February, during which MSC charged $250 to our credit card of record. When we checked with the Yacht Club Concierge, we were assured this charge was a hold to ensure we would cover any expenses and would be removed immediately. I checked the week we returned from the cruise. It had not been removed. Called. Waited on hold for the customary MSC hour and then person I spoke to said the charge was in the que to be reversed. It's now time to pay the February bill and, you guessed it, the charge is still there. Called and, again, waited for the MSC hour+ for someone to answer. Just go off the phone with a representative who first tried to tell me they don't actually put through these charges, then put me on hold a further hold to pull up my onb0ard account - and find no record of this charge! 1. If you have this happen, be sure you get THEM to print it out on board so you have THEIR record. 2. If you have this happen - and I'm guessing I am not the only one - CHECK you credit card. The representative has asked me to email my statement to MSCCruisesUSA. Any bets on if they will get back to me? I enjoy the Yacht Club so, but there has not been a SINGLE cruise we've taken with MSC where something like this hasn't happened.
  5. Thanks, all. That’s what I wanted to know.
  6. I am trying to choose between some ships with Thermal Spas ... am I correct that the APEX Thermal Spa design does NOT include a therapy pool/whirlpool in the Thermal Spa? On NCL, MSC, and Viking we've enjoyed the pools in the Thermal Spa - some with options that include rollers, strong jets, and jacuzzis - but I haven't seen a pool featured in any of the pictures I've found for the APEX Thermal Spa. I'm sure that thermal spa has many wonderful components, just checking for this one.
  7. First time on Celebrity in 20 years and will be in Retreat on the Solstice. I thought I read somewhere that a guest who is more interested in a menu item from Blu or the main dining room can order the item in Luminae, but I can’t find the thread. Could someone who has done this share the process? Do you look on the app and pick and choose - or ask for other menus? thanks!
  8. Is there a convenience fee added to charge casino spending money to your room account? As in, if I want to gamble $20 one night, can I just add that amount and charge my room account, or would it be $20 + $x fee? I’m not one involved in the OBC discussion, but it would be nice to think I don’t have to bring cash to enjoy a little time at the slot machines.
  9. I am seeing comments on this board that the butler will take care of laundry. Is laundry in a sky suite included in the cruise fare, or is it additional charge by piece?
  10. It was “bait and switch” for us. I’ve been trying to book Chef’s table for weeks for a November cruise. Told it was booked up. Very excited to get email, then couldn’t make it reserve - again. Called concierge, who said still fully booked - recommended a specialty restaurant. Celebrity is not impressing me so far. Let’s hope it’s just the hoops and smoke/mirrors of the pre-cruise management, not what we’ll find on the actual cruise.
  11. Heading to Puerto Vallarta, Cabo, San Lucas, and Ensenada out of Los Angeles on the Solstice in November and interested in the range of activities offered during the cruise. For some past cruises, I was able to look at the daily newsletter saved and posted by others, but I haven't been able to locate past posters who may have Mexican Riviera daily newsletters to share. I know it will be a different ship, since the Solstice is new to this route, but it would give me ideas. Anyone out there have a link to share?
