  1. What is the cut off for changing your medallion order to shipping instead of port pick up?  AFAIK you have to cancel the existing order and place a new one.  Is it 2 weeks prior to sailing?  We sail on the 23rd from Seattle and I'm debating if I just want to pay the darn $10.

But then again I'm half afraid to change to change anything this close to sailing, with all the medallion bugs...

I don't remember seeing any Lavazza symbol on Royal Princess, neither in the buffet nor in the IC. Not my picture below, but this is the coffee machine that is installed in the buffet on Royal Princess. Coffee was good, strong and non-acidic.

Thanks for the photo.  How long ago were you on the ship?  I'm sailing in about 3 weeks and very much hoping they have upgraded to Lavazza.

  3. We'll be in Honolulu for a day in early October and plan to get tickets for the Waikiki Trolley.  One of the four lines, the Green Line, goes up to Diamond Head and the rest of its route more or less overlaps parts of the Red and Blue lines, which we plan to take.  My husband isn't up for hiking to the top of Diamond Head, so I'm wondering if it's worth taking the Green route that goes up there.  Is there anything to see driving up to Diamond Head without taking the hike?

Yes I will be doing the same, only problem is I have had them too long and soon they will be out of date.

Be sure to double check the expiration dates before pitching.  I found that some of mine have had the dated extended more than once and if I hadn't checked (again) I would have discarded tests that were still good.  At-Home OTC COVID-19 Diagnostic Tests | FDA

I've been watching and waiting for an update on this. Thank you for posting the link. Hopefully Princess will get the message before we board the end of next month.

Our cruise to Sydney leaves exactly four weeks from today so I was glad to see this as well. I’m pretty confident that Princess will drop the requirement in plenty of time.  I doubt that they want the headache of requiring testing any more than we do.

For those who begged for an invitation, was it once on the ship or before the cruise? I'm not too proud to beg. 🙂

I called and got the invitation prior to boarding.

  7. I was not in a suite this past March on the Enchanted but called and was extended an invitation. Someone on our roll call posted the phone number from a message they received inviting them, and I figured the worst they could say was no.  I was pretty surprised when she said yes. We enjoyed it immensely. And no, sorry, I no longer have the phone number.

Don't expect a free upgrade--upgrade bids have all but eliminated that.

Even "sold out" cruises will find some last minute cancellations, so a few upgrades will happen.

Princess is giving nothing away. Everything will be paid for. The upgrades onboard are more than the bidding too.

I’ve received three true upgrades recently. Two were from lower balcony categories to a higher category, like BD to BB. Another was from an IA inside to a BC balcony. So they still do happen.

  9. I have a random amount that was credited back to one of my gift cards and would like to apply it as obc to one of my upcoming cruises.  But the personalizer only gives me the options of credit card or paypal.  Do I have to call in to apply the gift card or wait until I'm onboard?  Thx.

  10. No, we’re not going to bid. This little 2 day is just an add-on to a much longer trip from Vancouver to Sydney and we want to keep it as cheap as possible. For some reason though, it’s priced quite high and not selling well at all.  We’re quite happy with the free upgrade so we’ll stick with our balcony. I just had never seen a “bid sale” before.

  11. First time I've seen this - a 40% discount on the normal bid pricing for our upcoming cruise.  This is from a standard balcony cabin on a 2-day cruise, Seattle to Vancouver.  We originally booked an inside and received a free upgrade the other day to a balcony.  Now I guess there is a "sale" on bidding to a minisuite.  Only the minis though, none of the other categories have the 40% discount.  Interesting we can go to a mini for less than to a premium deluxe balcony.   BTW, I moved the offer bar from no offer just to show what the minimum bid is.

  12. So a follow up to my situation...Princess still hasn't owned up to booking us on a basic economy fare and it still shows as a basic saver fare on Alaska Airlines, but miraculously we now have seat assignments.  And although they aren't the exact same seats we originally booked, they are in the same row.

Interesting...I guess all's well that ends well.

I got an email that shows the bid amount.

Me too. And I kept it.

Yes, thank you.  As mentioned, I've also received that email and that's what I've been using to access my existing bids.

It would appear from the responses that there is no place on the personalizer to simply see your existing bids, like you can with your payment amounts or obc, etc.  Instead, at this point you have to either use the email link or re-enter your name and booking number.  Maybe it's because the bidding process is handled by Plusgrade and not Princess.  Thanks for confirming.

If you scroll down on the Summary page in the personalizer you'll see "Bid to upgrade your stateroom".  Click on this and then the "Get Started" button, then use your booking reference and last name and click the "Check Eligibility" button to get to the bidding page.

Yea, there is.  Go into the link where you can place a bid, enter your booking number and your last name.  From there, you can see your previous bid and modify it or cancel it.

Thanks for the answers. Yeah, I’ve done that too. I just figured there might be a place showing your actual bids without having to enter your info again.

  15. Apologies if this has been asked and answered already in this thread, but is there anywhere in the cruise personalizer that shows your bids?  In case you want to change, cancel, place another one, etc?  I couldn't find it anywhere so I've just been clicking on the link in the "we got your bid" email.  Can't imagine why it wouldn't be accessible in the personalizer somewhere but it's entirely possible I just missed it.

  16. Let me start off by saying I have used EZ-Air many times and I am familiar with searching, buying and changing flights.

I recently searched, selected, and paid for economy tickets on EZ-Air.   When I went to the airline website afterwards I found that our tickets were actually basic economy and not standard economy. Absolutely nothing on EZ-Air indicated this. I only realized it when I saw that the seat assignments Princess prompted me to make during the booking process didn’t hold. The airline will not allow us to choose seats with this fare type so we either have to wait until check in or purchase expensive upgraded seats.

Princess insists that they don’t sell basic economy, even after I sent them screenshots of our basic economy fare reservation. They either cannot or will not answer the question “if you don’t sell basic economy tickets then how did I wind up with one?”  They keep falling back on the disclaimer that seats assignments aren’t guaranteed, even though my argument with them is about a bait-and-switch fare type, not seat assignments.  It’s within the cancellation period so that’s not an option.

    Buyer beware.
