As I posted on another thread, 90% of my cruises were in March. Last year a 4 & 5 day. It was a different kind of cruise, food and service not as good and first time we sailed on a ship where noro was widespread though out the whole ship but no problems with passengers. Maybe I was just lucky (none of my group got noro either). Have another 4 and 5 day in about 30 days so we will see.

We always cruise in March. Last year was our first 4 and 5 day cruises. There were a few more younger people but never had any problems. Maybe that was luck? Will see in another month.:D

Thank you for taking the time to post.

Hyatt Place on 10th (next to Embassy Suites)
Renaissance on 17th St (across the street from the entrance to the port) We have walked in before if the ships at Pier #2/4
Embassy Suites
The Pier 66 would be my last choice.
Agreed.

Even though cost isn't a factor in your decision...it is good to know in advance that you will be paying the higher "suite" gratuity.
Also, we call the champagne drain cleaner.
Drain Cleaner! Thats funny and True! We only accept it for photo op then we clean the drain.

Same here. Would be curious to know what they did or didn't do for you. I travel with my 90 year old mom in a wheel chair and everyone has always went out of their way to make her cruise smooth as possible without us asking.

Thank you for posting your cruise experience. I am also not familiar with the term "wang".

That's a great suite perk also. Unfortunately I will not be able to partake next cruise as it is not a perk on 4 day cruises. I love the Crown grill!
-
That's what I was afraid of. Thanks guys! Everyone comments how wonderful it is but not so much if even 1 item is damaged or shrinks to fit my little granddaughter! Lol
-
I wonder about the laundry perk. Do they do a good job? No shrinkage and wrinkles? I took an upsell last year to a suite but was wary of the laundry perk so didn't use it. I just took an upsell last night for my cruise coming up and thought I might try it. Also, are the Vista suites better than penthouse? I was only in penthouse.

So I just recieved an upsell offer for my upcoming cruise and on the bottom it said "single cruisers are subject to 200%" So the amount of the upsell would be double?

I am just starting to look into solo cruising. Right now my cabin mate is my 90 year old mom. I suspect this year may be her last so I started looking. Can't say I am happy with what I found so far. As a retired manager I do understand all about the bottom line but I don't have to like it. I guess I'm not clear what the op is saying about not getting the lower price that a double would get.
So say I book a cabin solo for 1700.00 that would be 800.00 pp if i booked double. Next month it is discounted by 200.00 and I cannot as a solo reap any of that savings? What about specials that offer free specialty dinner or whatever, can a solo get that? What if you have a casino discount can solo use that?
As I said I am just trying to understand how being solo works because I know my time is coming. I really am not interested in sharing a cabin unless a close family member. :)

Does this person do just the Royal ship?

A couple years ago we were upgraded from a midship balcony to a midship mini 3 days prior to cruise. Nobody asked us, they just switched it. My TA called me to see if I knew.

I feel your pain. Also 5'3 and was 205 at last Saturdays weigh in. I started at 210 on Jan 2. I do have a cruise scheduled for 2017 but I am also trying my best to reach 190 by my March 5 cruise. I am doing weight watchers and exercising like I never have before, 6 days a week. Hopefully it will show on the scale this Sat. Good luck to you!:D

It's actually called Payments/Credits and you I always print it out and take it with me.:)
-
They never emailed me but other passengers have posted that they've received emails. You can check to see if its been applied in your Personalizer on credits on top of booking page.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Hopefully a closer table will be assigned before boarding and I won't have to bother anybody! One can hope right?
-
I believe the form only asks about vomiting and diarrhea. Somebody will chime in if I am wrong. Hope you feel better by then!:)

Our last cruise he was set up on embarkation, along with all the sales people. So easy, he'd either deal with it or ask you to meet him at a certain time.
Now that would be way too easy! I have emailed the access dept. Hopefully that will take care of it. If not we will just deal with what's assigned.

I always reserve a table near the entrance with the DR Supervisor for the cruise duration.
We are reminded that the agreed dining time is complied with, plus 15 minutes allowance. Otherwise, it is given to others.
That sounds fair enough to me. If you cannot arrive on time then you should choose anytime.

My friend was in a wheelchair on my last cruise. We were initially seated above a step, but were moved upon request. The dining staff always pushed the wheelchair and tucked it out of the way, so it never disturbed other diners.
Good to know. The staff are very accommodating with regards to the chair. We have had fellow passengers rise as we would not have gotten through. I like the back tables but just not worth the hassle. Thank you.

Our first stop after boarding is to find our table, if we want to make a change we find the head waiter and make a request before we leave. We have made lots of table changes and have always found the staff to be extremely helpful.. Sometimes you are given a new table on the spot and sometime it takes effect on day 2 .happy cruising
Thank you, good to know it is at least a possibility!

I took an upsell to R417 suite midship on my upcoming cruise, only suite left at the time or I would not have. I had a balcony on Riviera deck once, can't recall the ship, and about 4 am the chairs above were scraping the deck. I will bring earplugs this time and hope cruzsnooze is right!
