I will be in R405 next week. I have stayed on Riviera deck in the past where it was very noisy. It was not a suite but I can't remember which cabin. I do remember staying in Riviera aft and loved it! No noise and easy access to aft pool. Bringing ear plugs on the 10th. If the price is right I would still grab a Riviera suite. 😁

We used the enclave a couple years ago on the Royal. The dressing room/showers were female only so I assume there is a male one also.

There has been a couple reports that it is at crown grill on Emerald and is just as fantastic.

Probably depends on where you are on a particular deck. I will be sailing on Emerald in a few weeks. First cruise on dolphin forward then Riviera midship. I will post on one of these threads about the cabins because there seems to be lots of interest in what others are reporting on ac, water etc. I am not concerned myself, just be glad to get out of Michigan for a few weeks! :D:D

I found our Riviera aft cabin to be generally quiet. I had a midship Riviera balcony that started with noise about 4 am and continued till I finally got up at 6am. Never booked another Riviera cabin. Having said that I took an upsell to a suite midship Riviera on my cruise in a few weeks. I am prepared for noise this time so I should be ok. :D

Thank you, excellent review! I also agree with your statement about combining grand and Royal class. I miss the same Royal class amenities you mentioned plus enclave. Both classes have their good points!

It's crazy but of all the suite perks, I am looking forward to the delicious waffle breakfast!

mamaboss, how did that wallet get into your room safe?

 

It was left by the previous couple that stayed in the suite. It was really wedged in a small space in back of the door, I never saw it when I put our things in upon boarding. The wallet was just like my mothers. I was shocked when she said that's not mine. I could not believe the amount of money in it when I was looking for some Id. I didnt want to touch the money so dont know exactly how much but if I had been him I would have freaked out. We were on that cruise for 5 days and in those 5 days he never missed it till I called and told him, strange.

Family of the crew/staff of the ship.

On our most recent cruise, the Maitre D' had his mother on board and the Staff Captain had his wife and 2 kids (it was Christmas). We were told by the head waiter that they were sailing for free.

There is a limit to how many and times/year that crew can have family on the ship with them.

What a thing to happen and right at the beginning of your cruise, regardless how it happened. I feel sorry for anyone losing a wallet or purse, such a pain! Last year at the end of our cruise I emptied our safe out and placed my mother's belongings next to her purse. A little later I saw her wallet still sitting there but everything else put away. She said that's not my wallet. Well it wasn't mine either. I opened it for info and it was loaded with money and cards and an ID. I called the owner who did not realize he left it to tell him I was taking it to passenger services and he should take the steps to retrieve it. I would hope someone would do that for me.

I sure hope he finds his wallet, good luck op!

Ha--I am packing right now using the Ebags for our cruise on Sunday. I just took a little break. I got them on Amazon.

All family members use them, including the 2 year old. I love them. I do exactly what Pam does--take out the bag and put it on the shelf. :)

I am defiantly going to get a set. When you say yo u take them out and put them on the shelf, I assume your talking about the shelves in with the safe? What size will fit the shelves, small or medium? I was just going to get a set of 4 mediums but like the shelf idea!

You can be placed on a waiting list for any cabin cat.

Opps, sorry. Thought op was asking how you get your email on a upsell list. Must have read it wrong :o

Only list I'm aware of is if you get an upsell email on a suite for example but by the time you call they are gone, you can be placed on a waiting list in case a suite cancels. My travel companions just did this a few weeks ago and just recieved a call offering them a cancelled suite.

Right @mamaboss?!?! LOL I actually ate more than usual but cut out sugar and bread. I was skipping meals while at work then eating all the wrong things late at night. I think my body went into shock missing the nighttime snacks. :-)
