  1. Are you referring to the one at St. Peter's? If so we stayed there in 2011 while on a land your. Very nice hotel, everything you would expect in a Crown Plaza. We were on a tour with Globus so they took us everywhere therefore can not comment on any NCL transfers.

  2. Oh man! I hope the hairdryers got updated in the last dry dock!

Our CC group is meeting in the Bier Garten for our "unofficial" meet & greet at sailaway! Is the food there free? Obviously, the "bier" isn't! :D

I do not remember any food there, but there is food below by the pool durning lunch hours.

  3. Another vote for magnets. I collect them everywhere I visit. Sometimes people bring me magnets from their travels. I put them on a magnetic board in my home office. Easier to clean. While on our Mediterranean cruise last summer, I put them up on the bar area in the cabin. The room steward and butler brought others by to see the collection.

  4. We rented a flat in London right next to the Lambeth bridge. We walked everywhere and took the tube/ bus when needed. We could see the river out of one of the windows. We have used Homeaway and VRBO and the new wildly popular company is now Airbnb. We use the companies frequently and also rent our own property in Hawaii through these companies. I think this is a much better way to travel. Next to cruise ships, of course. Read the reviews before you book.

  5. Apparently they are still tweaking some dry dock dates for the Sun and the Spirit. They don't want to open the itineraries for booking and then have to cancel some sailings and have to deal with displaced passengers. The good news is that it seems we'll have a freshly refurbished Sun for South America.:D

Thanks for the information. We are waiting as well. We have emailed our PCC expressing our interest. A fresh new Sun is great news.

  6. My wife and I are looking at taking a "last hurrah" vacation before we start trying to have kids and decided to try and do something we haven't done before. We've been on a ton of cruises but they've been pretty much focused on the Caribbean.

The vacation we're starting to key in on is a 12 day cruise-tour on the Norwegian Star from Copenhagen. Its three days in Copenhagen, followed by the 9 day Baltic capitals cruise next July.

I was wondering if any of you have done that cruise (or cruisetour), and if you enjoyed it, and any tours that are cant miss in that itinerary. Also any tips would be appreciated, like i said, we've never cruised in Europe before, I have a feeling it will be quite different than a Caribbean cruise!

    Ur

    Thanks in advance.

We are taking this cruise next August. We will be forming small groups to go on private tours. This work well for on our MED trip last year. Visit the roll call boards and read what others are planning. Your sailing date may already have a roll call formed.

There seems to be a few private vendors in each port and most get great reviews. Certainly some of the ports appear to be very easy for DIY. As other have said, read some of the reviews as well.
